Default Has anyone had a food intolerance test?

Hi, I've just sent for a York food intolerance test kit £9.99, Dr Hilery Jones & Dr Chris Steele both recommend it.

They reckon now that through all the takaway & junk food we eat now is causing food allergys & intolerance's.

It was also om "Embarrassing Bodies" a guy was covered in sores all over & they sent him to the York test centre, after about 10 weeks he went back to Docs at EB & skin was totally clear.

Food intolerance causes skin conditions, IBS, Fatigue, etc most of the things we all suffer from. I just think if you can afford £9.99 its worth a try. A doctor that I saw about stomach trouble saw my skin & suggested I had a blood test to see if I was cealiac, I was'nt, but have cut out Wheat after reading of the rubbish in wheat now on google, & skin seems slightly better, still cant fathom where all those fibres come from though after nearly 20 yrs mine are getting so small you can hardly see them, I just know if I itch I've got to dig one out to have peace.....Spotted Dog

Default Food intolerance test

Hi,

I have been thinking about having a food intolerance test, and was going to look in to where i can get one from. I saw one being offered on line for £40.00 so £9.99 is a good price. However, I guess it depends on what it covers.

BTW - when was the embarassing bodies programme shown, I would like to watch it and catch it on iPlayer.

thanks

Jana.

Default Yes the good food worked

Did the test before becoming so ill, but I knew things were way wrong, and the food change, juicing and blenderizing with probiotics and grain really did the job.

I was like a new man for a time.

can not remember from that point on I think I just got, yup just got.

last year I was 17 this year I will be 12, LOL

yes, I've had these tests done. Basically what has happened is that I had an overgrowth of infections in my gut (bacterial, mold/fungal, and candida), which caused damage to my intestinal wall. This allows larger food molecules to get through the intestinal wall, and in turn, the immune system attacks them. All sorts of symptoms can happen. I get severe skin rashes and eczema. Other people can get other symptoms. Have you heard the term, "leaky gut" (google it.. lots of articles on it)? It's a reason for lots of food intolerances. The idea is to avoid intolerant foods so the intestinal lining can heal.

Default foodd intolerance test

Hi... you can get the test for £9.99 from York test centre, just google it & Embarrassing bodies was on just last week, the blokes rash was'nt Morgellon type but was awul all over his body like mine.

Gigi I've read a lot about leaky gut, I've got Gillian Mckeith's book "you are what you eat" & although I don't like the woman, greedy cow! she did used to make a lot of people better on her television show whether fat, spotty, or full of fungas.

I was unlucky enough to visit my Doctor a couple of months ago & had the nerve to tell her it was my Hiatus Hernia that was giving me the stomach pain, I've had it for about 15 yrs, & several doctors had told me, but she sent me to Hospital, had camera stuck down throat, then up rear, asked what that was on screen & told Pooh!!! flowing around intestines, I don't know whether that is leaky gut.

I've stopped eating microwave meals & bought a slow cooker which makes life easy as buy ready prepared veg, sling an onion & herbs in & get a healthy meal, you can just forget it, I'm no cook!!! Spots..

I see a homeopathic doctor who (almost four years ago) found I was allergic to wheat, rice, corn, peanuts, almonds and chile (vegetable). He "desensitized" me using tbm (muscle testing/kenesiology) and that very night I started getting my energy and strength back.

So I totally agree that foods can make us sicker! Good luck spots, & let us know if changing you diet helps you. Cooking can be fun. There is a thread on this site about healthy recipes.

itwl,
~jonsi
