| Dr Savely has published new Morgellons Disease journal case article: Morgellons Disease in a 48-Year-Old Female With Dermatologic Complaints Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal: October/December 2010 - Volume 32 - Issue 4 - p 314–322 Here's the abstract: Morgellons Disease in a 48-Year-Old Female With Dermatologic... : Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal It all helps! I've been sent the PDF and will await instructions on making it available. Jo xx |

| Thanks for posting this Jo. I am so grateful for the medical journal publications and Ginger has had 3 Morgellons articles published since the beginning of the summer. Even Ginger Savely herself has had a difficult time trying to get the hard copy and she is the author! Hopefully it will be available soon in a form that is postable. Maybe we have to wait until it's not so 'hot off the press'. Cindy Casey |

![]() The article gives good, detailed description of morgellons symptoms and urges health professionals to be open minded when seeing patients at ER etc. Its all good. Jo xx |

| All well and good, but does this article at all discuss possible treatments for the skin manifestations of Morgellons? Since you seem to have the pdf file perhaps you could share this information without being too specific. Could you could just let us know if there are any guidelines for treatment in this article for those practitioners who would be totally unfamiliar with Morgellons? I do not see how keeping the article away from those who will benefit by being able to share this with their practitioners or ER doctors could be seen as being helpful to us (not saying that you are the person who is doing this, but I wonder again about the secrecy surrounding everything that is released about Morgellons). Hopefully you will be able to post this article in full fairly soon.

The abstract is a summary of what's in the article, and its not focused on treatment - but presentation of one case. Dr Savely mentions treating lesions with cortisone inprenated tape to speed up healing, no more. The article is about symptoms and diagnosis and how morgs differs to DOP etc. It's a good start if professionals stop treating patients as psych cases. Its a shame that many journals have subscription only to view full content. I'm sure it will become available one way or another! Jo |

| Thanks for the information Jo. I am sure others here will appreciate knowing that this article is not exactly what is hoped for, but could be seen as a start to discredit a DOP label assuming the journal is a respected journal. Some journals are respected by those in the medical field more than others. I know this has been a problem in the past and that many in the medical field do not respect what has been learned about Morgellons because they did not think some journal or other was stringent enough about screening articles published in them. I will be very excited if the gastroenterologists Venetia posted about will address Morgellons with more study as IMHO the skin issues are just the outer manifestation of what is going on inside the body. Once we can get the focus away from the skin (as horrible as the disfigurement is) we may get a more complete understanding of the disease.

| Hats off to Ginger Savely. She is one of the very few credible practioners who publishes high quality, professional articles about the clear existence of this horrible disease. Acceptance of - or at least genuine consideration of - Morgellons as a very real condition is an incredibly important first step. When that happens, then other practioners will begin to really look and to believe....and then more vigorous research can begin. Despite nearly nine years since the founding of the Morgellons Research Org, the vast majority of the public and the medical community isn't even aware of this disease. And the majority of the medical world that does know of it dismisses it as delusional. First things first. We are truly in the infancy of our battle to gain acceptance and then to research and find a cure. I truly hope the acknowledgement of it's reality comes before the long-awaited report from the CDC.
