It appears that Oprah doesn't want to discuss GM Food

Remember when Oprah was sued by the big meat corporations for
making a comment about "

Mad Cow Disease"?

If you don't remember, she was sued because after her comment
(when Mad Cow Disease/beef was the topic of her show years ago)----
Oprah said she didn't want to eat another hamburger again after
what she just learned about Mad Cow Disease.

One or two meat manufacturers stated BECAUSE of Oprah's comment,
they were losing business and it was a 6 year ordeal for Oprah to get through.

Good News is that she won. Bad news is that it means nobody will
want to bring up these serious issues due to fear of being sued.

(Oprah has a big influence, for instance when she mentions a producton her show, sales go sky high for that particular product.)

Of interest, "Michael Pollen" from Food, Inc was her guest and neither
he or oprah would mention GM Food or Genetically Modified Organisms.


My "guess" would be that Oprah didn't want to get sued by Monsanto.

It "seems" obvious that the "GM Food" topic must have been
OFF LIMITS and perhaps with a Pre-Agreement of what content
could and could not be mentioned.


We KNOW Michael Pollen IS against GM seeds.

Oprah -----made a comment in the 2nd video sort of "joking around"
stating something like:
"You all will notice that I am not sayingANYTHINGabout MEAT."

It is of my opinion,that since it took Oprah 6 years to get out
of that lawsuit, other show host Do NOT want to even consider the
possibility of seriously discussing GM Food.

Sorry. Not an Oprah fan. However, I am a huge Food, Inc. fan and have forced everyone I know to watch it.

The last part on the Food, Inc. video about WalMart getting on the Organics bandwagon is a joke, though. They'll do what they always do, which is bully their vendors into producing the cheapest quality possible so that it will be cheap to produce and the quality will be so poor it won't matter if it's organic.

why does that not surprise me in the least?
oprah though, i dont watch her show but ive always respected her for 'being real' and if shes not taking a stand either way, im willing to give her the benifit of the dobt and assume its because she needs to learn more on the topic before talking about it, but its probably because shes afraid to ruffle feathers. and if thats true, its the start of the end for her, ya know?
she got sued by beef, ok, well, she also found dr.phil out of the deal.. lol. shes always been not afraid to speak her mind, and if that what she was doing when she got sued, oh well, she should hold her head high 'YEAH< i said that!!' kind of thing, but shes acting like they beat her all up, and shes been through way worse in her life, why would she cower?

i hope she does not run for politics, that would be a real reality check for her if shes worried about people feelings.. i dont see her in office, at all.although i would rather have her as president than obama, but then ANYBODY would be less scary than obama right now..
you know hes never shown his birthcertificate? to prove he was born in USA? OH<< GET THIS.. he wants to tap ( listen in on) social websites, basicly computers, AND blackberrys, basicly your cell phones.. Hi, yes I heard that about Obama a while back and wasn to happy about it. He also tried to put the EPA, FDA, UDSA, and other "safety" agencies under (1) agencie for better quality/effeciency. But the separate agencies would not hear of it.

Now,.......if he could have accomplished that------------These agencies would be working together instead of "passing the buck".

From the investigation of the farm that put out the bad eggs, several of the employees told either a USDA or FDA person about the appalling conditions and how unsafe it was and they were told: "We are here only to inspect (whatever particular thing) and that it was up to a different agency to look into the appalling conditions.

Now, if those agencies were "UNDER ONE ROOF", there would have been communication.

Of Course, the employees assumed the "Agency" that was there referred their complaints to the right agency, but sadly that didn't happed and many people got sick because of it.

ONE Agency fo, FDA, EPA, USDA, ........ sort of like the IRS is ONE (1) agency yet it handles differnt aspects of taxes:
1. income tax
2. inheritance tax
3. sales tax
etc.
........
see what I mean, One agency for:
Food and Drug
US Department of Agriculture
and others so that COMMUNICATION is better and therefore the public will be safer with (1) more "organized" agency with various departments just like the IRS.

The individual agencies and the senators/representatives all raised He!! when this was suggested at the beginning of Obama's term.

I am sure Obama as other presidents have "favors" to return to those who helped elect him, however; I am hoping that Obama was smart enough to put a stipulation on this "favor" to that Monsanto Lobbyist to "limit" FULL control.

kmar, that makes perfect sense, and therefor willnever happen.. i think the gov likes to pass the buck o it doesnt have to own up to any mistakes, 'its not our agency' or ' press 1 for english, 2 for directory,,3 for nobody will answer,4 for your call to be disconnetcted, 5 for the menu that wont help you,...GOODBYE
congress would be so much better if they talked to each other, i also think we dont need to be democrat,republican,whatever different groups, that makes no sense because sometimes i agree with about half of what the republican guy says, i belive abou half of what the democrat guy says, why cant we vote on idividual issues rather than a dude that we only agree with half what he says? dem or rep, once they hit office, they ignore us..whats the point?
