| Before I knew what was wrong with me, which wasn't until I felt the movement, I used hydrocortizone on calloused patches of skin on my face and on little white hard things under my skin (if it was my skin.) Hydrocortizone always made it worse. I quit using it due to this. My face began to change so rapidly, I couldn't understand why I was getting old looking overnight. Those changes take place over years. I know at 50 one isn't going to look 20, but one doesn't go from looking 50 to looking 90 overnight. Yesterday I noticed my short term memory was really bad. And it is hard for me to type fast now. I can't type like I use to. CIGARETTES: I know how awful they are. In reality, I feel like I have put out a contract with a hit man on my life. Everytime I buy cigarettes, I am paying the hit man off.

| Posey, what you said about the typing - for months I was living in a perpetual brain-fart and had something like dyslexia. I'd get words out of order when I talked or wrote, and invert letters when I typed. It was constant; it was like my brain had rewired itself. It's better now, but not completely gone. I still have to proof everything several times. |

| Sojii, I have really taken a dive with cognitive skills recently. I'm at the point where I just don't say anything for fear of not being able to grasp the words I want to say. I'm hoping this will get better and not last too long. posey

| Posey Do most people smoke ciggs here? I know I do. Can't beat that moster. I did buy electronic ciggs and use it when I run out of the real thing. I would be curious if we are current smokers and x smokers here... and people exposed to alot of second hand smoke (bartenders ect). Janice |

| I agree with you Janice. Maybe we need to start a Thread or Poll to see how many members still smoke - how many have quit and if they quit because of M or quit before M- how many are subjected to second hand smoke. Could be a lot of variables here but the above 3 might suffice. I don't know how to set up a pole, or maybe the Owner/Mod(s) have to do that. posey

| Posey, my cognitive skills have improved, maybe because I'm averaging more than 3 hours sleep a night now. They may tank again, but for now they're better. I had a really hard time functioning at work when the morgs were most active. Maybe it comes and goes? I was wondering the same thing about smoking this morning. And who knows what we might have been inhaling besides nicotine at various points? I started smoking when I was 20, 38 years ago, and had been exposed to my mother's chain smoking my entire life prior to that. Back then cigarettes weren't regulated near as much. I'd like to know how many Morgellon's victims have been long-term smokers. |

| Do,t laugh to hard. I started puffing when I was 7 yearsold, inhaling at 10 years old and a pack a dayer at 13 years old, by 20 years old I was 3 packs a day. Am 51 years old now. I grew up in tobaco country. Here in nc they call this state tobaco row. Today I smoke about 2 packs a day. |

| Dzana, I know the list is much longer but what's weird is you'd think the ammonia would kill M; or some other chemical or chemical combination. I feel guilty when I buy them and guilty when I smoke. Someone did tell me that right now would be a bad time to quit smoking because it would cause a strain on body which might make them (M) more monstrous. I mean with all the emotional havoc. But a person could begin by cutting back and slowly get Cigs, out of one's system because smoking has adverse affects on Immune System also. I read in a nurses book that the highest percentage of people who survive cancer are those who have a positive outlook and are not depressed. Emotions play a big part on immune system too. I'm not rationalizing when I say all this. I know when I am rationalizing just to have a cigarette. I think I am a pro at it and it really is no laughing matter. posey
