| "For decades, the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology has been a leader in disease diagnosis. Now it is closing, and its legacy is in jeopardy. Death of a pathology centre: Shelved : Nature News When pathologists extol the value of the AFIP, the conversation always returns to the tissue repository — all told nearly 90 million tissue samples, including some of the most rare and difficult cases ever encountered in the history of the field." 90 Million...they must have heaps of samples with morg filaments...surely...including the 100 or so punch biopsies taken for the CDC study. | Hi Jo, read the "Shelved" article today and I am amazed how hush, hush its seems to be. I think back to the Pres debates and the question about which government agencies should be shut down, guess its already done as far as the AFIP goes. Sorry I missed your post when it first posted, so many to read. Quote:

| Glad you found this thread and brought it up again as I did know about AFIP closing but omitted that detail on the other thread, so it was good you added this closing info there as well. No sense in raising false hopes about the study which has been stalled as far as release for some time now. I think this shows that when it comes to studies it is the civilian part of the government which more often tends to hide information. The military has to follow the whim of those in government, but that is just IMO. Anyway hard to believe that such an extensive and important library of information is being closed...Nothing like ignorance is bliss for those who stand to benefit from the loss of this information. quote=csidegalNH;88609]Hi Jo, read theShelved article today and I am amazed how hush, hush its seems to be. | There are those that suggest that funding a new lab for investigating M and maintaining the study and access of a library of skin samples was unable to be funded and at least one of them had to go.The researchers of this country are the best in the world and are very involved with the study of M.They report to the commander in chief through the NSA,that I figure is now in charge of M.The depth of concern is not to be scoffed at by us as we do not recieve updates on the research. As for leaks about M or anything involving the supervision by the NSA,well that would cost a person their life.We will hear nothing until they are ready to share it,which may be never, or it will be done in such a manner as to not disturb the medical system operations of the USA.I would love to see the study as it's being done but that won't ever happen. What we can do for now is to figure this out in it's entireity,on our own and I now see that as being possible. It's the extent of M that may never be divulged as that may never be figured out in our liftime. |
