Default Sleep issues

I was wondering if anyone else has or has had sleep disturbances not caused by biting and itching? I seem to have a brain "speed" attack at bedtime. It won't shut off. I thought it was hormonal at first, but it seems to help the things reproduce. This has probably been approached on the site before, but I am fairly new and ask for everyone's patience. I know it seems like beating a dead horse (cliche I know) to those of you who have researched for years, but this stuff is making me seriously (as in life threateningly) ill and I need answers. Thank you to all who answer in advance.

Belle, there is no doubt in my mind that certain brain activity will empower the entity, it feeds on stress, this may sound like some old cliche but it's not, the strongest tool you have against it (at this point in time) is your mind, I believe that wholeheartedly. If you sit around and dwell on what's happening to you and refrain from carrying on your life by staying inside and withdrawing from your friends and family, it will progress. It is imperative that you get control of your thoughts and try your best to relieve the stress and depression in order to combat this, and by all means try to stay away from pharmacuticals with the exception of antibiotics/antifungals, that's my opinion for whatever it's worth.

Belle,

Magnesium before bed might help. It has a natural calming affect.

Default About sleep

Hi Belle9,
I know i have sleeping disorders from this. Hope not to scare you but I must be candid about it. I do go sometimes 2 to 4 days with as little as no sleep to only having minutes at the time. Which are rushed as you mention. Short flash dreams and a few body jerks then wide awake. 2 to 10 minutes tops on these. During these spells I also don,t really eat either. I can go for four days without eating with no seemingly no ill effects or hunger.Although I will suck water like a fire hose. Without sleep I just have the brain fog but not really drawn out or tired, unless I work.
I,m mostly retired but still work construction some. If I choose to drink then I usually sleep well for 6 hours. And for me thats a really good sleep session.
Jim

Default Melatonin....

Melatonin has worked wonders for me... easy to find at pharmacies
or online... over the counter and very little side effects the next day.
very low dosage too... It works very quickly and effectively...
Easy to rise the next morning feeling refreshed and well rested without
feeling groggy..... as S.Frey pointed out... stress and depression will
most definitely effect you for the worse...lack of sleep will certainly
deplete your immune system as well as effect your mental processes.
this from sleepfoundation. org.

Melatonin is a natural hormone made by your body's pineal (pih-knee-uhl) gland. This is a pea-sized gland located just above the middle of the brain. During the day the pineal is inactive. When the sun goes down and darkness occurs, the pineal is "turned on" by the **SCN and begins to actively produce melatonin, which is released into the blood. Usually, this occurs around 9 pm. As a result, melatonin levels in the blood rise sharply and you begin to feel less alert. Sleep becomes more inviting. Melatonin levels in the blood stay elevated for about 12 hours - all through the night - before the light of a new day when they fall back to low daytime levels by about 9 am. Daytime levels of melatonin are barely detectable.

** supra-chiasmatic nucleus (SCN) initiates signals to other parts of the brain that control hormones, body temperature and other functions that play a role in making us feel sleepy or wide awake.**

Default Wow xiblanque!

Melatonin sounds like a lot safer (From your prescribed description) than my method of days deprived of sleep, and or booze plus night time cough syrup as a topper offer. Thank you for this. Getting Melatonin tomorrow. If it dosn,t work I will stalk you, hunt you down and shake your hand for trying to help us sleepy people. Thanks!. Thank you.
Jim

This seems like a good article on it. I have had mixed results with melatonin not sure why. At times it has helped at other times it seemed not to work.

Sleep, nutrition, vitamin, minerals, supplements, amino acids, sleep disorders, insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, RLS, Alternative therapies, mind-body medicine, integrative therapies

Anyway some interesting information in this article.

Magnesium always helps me I just have to remember to take it a couple of hours before bed.

Default I go through that.

I bought a book on melatonin and it sounded like the cure all for everything. It worked great but a couple of years ago it stopped working for me.
I dread bedtime. I take codeine painkillers for itching/joint pain, and add a shot of scotch in a warm drink for sleep. At times I drift off into brain fog. Once I'm asleep a train could come by and not wake me up.

I get the water thing. I drink a litre like I used to drink a cup, in a couple minutes and I need more. Thirsty all the time.

Maybe it likes certain body chemistry. Has anyone compared blood types? I am O positive.

Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dreams come true
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes through
Sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

Hi Jim and crashcourse,

If you are drinking a ton of water and not eating you can pretty much guarantee that unless you take magnesium that you will become deficient. When we lack magnesium it can cause insomnia, irritability agitation, dizziness and muscle twitching/cramping. Magnesium is also very important for a hormone production as well.

Also excessive thirst can be a sign of blood sugar problems which can deplete magnesium as well.

I remember taking a homeopathic sleep aid once. Worst night of sleep ever. I think a lot of it has to do with our chemistry at the moment.

Crashcourse be careful with mixing alcohol with Codeine especially if it contains acetaminophen as it can cause damage to your liver when combined.
