| Hi all, just a quick post about what helps me the most. Granted, my Morgellons is not as severe as some people's...I'm just hoping it gets better, not worse, as time goes on. Anyway, some tips: 1. Take Carnitine. Carnitine is known to improve cognition by lowering ammonia levels. It also promotes the proper function of cells. My brain fog was very, very bad, and Carnitine helped immensely. 2. Manage anxiety/depression. Knowing you have Morgs is extremely difficult to deal with. I try not to let it consume my life - I always have to remember that it does not define my identity, it's just an entity that found its way to me. I am a Buddhist, and Buddhism is great because it teaches detachment and not being dependent on outcomes. Looking at Morgs from a Buddhist perspective is very helpful. I also exercise a lot (this has helped me lose *a lot* of weight, which has made me so very much happier), and I take Klonopin for anxiety. 3. Exercise your brain. Like I said, the brain fog for me was terrible. It's still an issue, and it's very tempting for me to just give up on my intellect. But the theory of neuroplasticity teaches that the brain can recover itself from any injury, as long as you use it. I force myself to write even when I don't feel inspired, I read books even when I'd rather zone out and surf the web. The more I do this, the better I feel and the better I function. |

| Hadrian, when you don't understand what something is, copy the word into a browser and google it. You'll find the answers that way. Banana, Don't know if you've seen Mr. Common Sense's blog, but his protocol also calls for carnitine. He takes a particular fish oil for anxiety. Attached is his link.
