Something I did not mention when I introduced myself a few days ago. There were a lot of light blue fibers coming from my hair.I took some of this to my doctor. Told her I believed I had hair fungus. Also known as ringworm. Ringworm is a fungus and not. a bug. Three times she demanded to see the bald patches on my scalp. Even though I have much hair loss from the lesions they were about healed and hair was returning. Anyway I opened the envolope with the fuzzy blue hair and she looked.Made a face backed away from me two steps and said she would get me the fungus shampoo to use three times a week. I begged her for the fungus pill also. But she would not write that one. Said if I was not better in a month she would order blood work to check my liver function.The fungus pill can in rare cases cause liver damage. I waited two weeks brought in another hair ball and begged for the pill. She did the blood work and called in a perscription that following monday. The shampoo itself was working but slowly. I,ve been taking the pill and shampoo together and am sometimes finding no fibers in the morning when I comb my hair. When I do find anything it is a very small amount of them. The name of the meds are. Shampoo "Ketoconazole 2%) I bottle plus a refill. Pill is "Terbinfine 250MG" 30 tabs two refills. I have insurance so only paid a copayment. The Pill is $451.00 per 30 tabs. Outragous! the shampoo I don,t remember.

Ketoconazole is what the vet gave my dog for Yeast causing itching. It was $30 a bottle. My dr gave me Econozole cream for ringworm and it helped. It was under $6.00.

Interesting. I have to go for a refill on the pills in a couple of days. I,ll find out what the price of the shampoo was and let ya know. Wonder how much the difference will be for the same product. Shampoo comes in 4 or 4 1/2 oz bottles for people.
