Yes, swellings Yes, I have had swellings too, especially my right foot. I know exactly when the larva migrated down my leg, because they left "track" marks through my groin area, and the track marks were so close to the surface of the skin, they hurt too.
My right foot swelled about twice the size of the left. I had a lesion on my stomach which had increased its swelling and redness for several days before the larva hatched out. I could see track marks extending outward and downward from the lesion. They migrated from the lesion (which is where the larva develops) down the leg into the extremities. This is common in nematodes, although I cannot say with 100% certainty that this is the larva of a nematode. I know it is larva of something though.
My foot swelled and stayed swollen for about 2 months. I believe this must be the life span of the larva. There was one small lesion which tried to form on the top of the foot (their attempt at reproduction) but I treated it with zinc before it could complete development, and it dried up and went away.
Swellings in the extremities are common in helminth infections. For some reason, the larva prefer the extremities - hands, forearms, feet, ankles. Mine also congregate around my jaw, which, if you think about it, is sort of like an extremity. Maybe they prefer cooler temperatures, which the extremities would offer.
I tried to push on them and kill them (which is very painful) but I'm not sure how successful that was because the swelling prevented me from being able to really bear down.
I do believe I can kill these if I push on the "head", or "sucker" area of the larva. You find the place with the 3 dots that form a triangle and push. If you find the right place, the associated lesion will start to fade as well, if there is a lesion corresponding to it.
I now have the hyperpigmentation (light brown freckles, some have called them) - possibly associated with the melanin production of nematodes or fly larva. Hyperpigmentation on the extremities is also common in nematode infection. The three dots which form the triangle are its eye sensors (ocellia) and its "mouth". The eye sensors could alternately be the suckers, but I do believe there is a sensing system in the larva which differentiates between darkness and light, hence, our commonalities of itching more at night and being unable to sleep. Nematodes are more active at night. I know my sores and red spots swell up more at night. I take Benedryl, which is an antihistamine, when it gets really bad. It helps but makes me sleepy, so I only take it at night. That's when I need it more anyway.
Your job is to keep them from reproducing. Attack whatever lesions you have either with grapefruit seed extract, zinc powder or tincture, DSP cream or Miracle Foot Cream, or whatever works for you. There are lots of different ideas in how to treat the lesions. I stick with zinc because it's cheap and a necessary nutrient for the human body, and most of us are deficient in zinc anyway.
Let me know how you do. I know the swellings well, and am very grateful mine went away, but I know if I let a lesion go and reproduce larva, I would have it back. So far I am doing pretty well with my lesions. I'm also getting vitamin C IV.
