Default Another concerning symptom...bruises

Hi Ya'll......

I recently got my lesions to heal but lately have noticed numerous bruises all over my body. I've also noticed little painful bumps, usually near a vein.

I am really getting scared this syndrome is winning.......I've been through so much stress because of this and am right in the middle of a major crisis........I'm worried the stress is throwing me back into the wolves. I can see red areas that coincide with the areas where I feel pain, but it is swirled down to my feet. It's in my joints, lymph nodes (I think).

Anyone familiar with this and what in the world do I have to do? I drug out all of my supplements and started those again immediately.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Shelli,

Have you been to a doctor? That sounds like a blood platelet issue. Make sure you are getting enough Vitamin C. Vitamin K may help but use it with caution. B vitamins are also important with bleeding issues. I would recommend you get blood work if you are bruising that much.

Hi Shelli,

I agree with Cyn, it would be a good idea to have a doctor look into this. He can do a CBC and other blood tests. There are many reasons for easy bruising. Sometimes certain supplements may thin the blood too much. Some common ones are fish oil and ginkgo, but there are others too. There are also some diseases which are sometimes associated with bruising such as leukemia, thyroid disease, and celiac disease. So it would be best to check it out to make sure it is nothing serious. Chances are it's not.

How to Understand What Causes Easy Bruising | eHow.com

  1. If you experience bruising for no reason, you're justifiably concerned. In many cases, bruising for no obvious reason is related to a bump you don't remember getting. This is particularly true if you're taking certain medications that alter the activity of platelets, blood components which play an important role in blood clotting. A minor bump to the surface of the skin when you're on particular medications can make bruising more likely to occur.
  2. Step 2
Three of the most common types of medications that increase the risk of bruising are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, aspirin, and blood thinners such as Warfarin. Even some natural supplements such as fish oils, gingko, ginger, and garlic can cause bruising with only minor trauma. These foods and supplements have natural blood thinning properties that can cause bleeding under the skin to occur more readily. Steroid based anti-inflammatory medications such as prednisone can also enhance bruising. If you're experiencing easy bruising, ask your doctor if your medications could be playing a role.
  3. Step 3
In some cases, easy bruising can be a sign of a more serious health problem. When the body doesn't produce enough platelets or the platelets that are produced don't function properly, bruising can occur even in the absence of injury. Certain types of cancer such as leukemia can cause platelet counts to drop which can lead to bruising. If this is the case, there may be bleeding with slight trauma such as when brushing the teeth or frequent nosebleeds may occur. Certain chronic diseases can also cause a drop in platelet count or abnormal platelet function. If bruising for no reason occurs, it's important to get a complete blood count drawn by your doctor to determine if platelet levels are normal.
  4. Step 4
Another cause of bruising for no reason are clotting factor abnormalities. For blood to clot properly, a group of specific clotting factors must interact with one another in a harmonious manner. If one of these factors is deficient or isn't functioning properly, easy bruising can be the result. Genetic deficiencies in clotting factors can occur, or conditions such as liver disease
or pregnancy can alter these factors giving rise to bruising without obvious injury. Your doctor can do special lab tests to determine if you have clotting factor abnormalities.
  5. Step 5
Bruising for no reason also becomes more common with age as the capillaries become more fragile and the skin become thinner. The bottom line? If you're experiencing easy bruising, particularly if you have bleeding gums or nosebleeds, see your doctor for a complete blood count.

Are you sure it is a bruise? Sometimes it is a black soot like substance that makes goo under the skin. The goo forms the critter.

After I scrub it (several concoctions one after the other). I apply a detox patch. Problem is, when you get it off/out, they give you more.

I get so tired of it all. I felt so bad one night, I did not detox or take any herbs and told God to just take me. They left, maybe the morgies thought I was dying too and did not want to be attached to a corpse. By the next night, they were back.

The black soot looking stuff is visible on roofs, driveways, mail box posts, etc. On the roof it looks like streaks with a point of impact. Look around your neighborhood.

Mine are certain bruising. It,s always under the skin. Most of the time it is not sore like when you bump something and bruise. Seems some type of capillary explosion.

Default Doc

Doc,

Did you go to the Austin Conference? There was a gentleman who attended and talked with me for a while. Said he also talked on this forum.

You made me laugh, but Shelli may not realize how funny and how smart you are. Doc, you are a great diversion, from talking about the terrible illness most of the time.

Hella

I had the bruising for a while at first too. These were definitely bruises. I had the black stuff too and that was different.

For whatever reason, I have not had the bruising happening for quite some time, knock on wood!!! I felt whatever it was, was related to this illness and/or the secondary complications/illnesses it causes.
