help with my lymes test

hello everyone first off thanks to bubba and her treatment plan healing is in process. peroxide and salt wow that works. saw the black little buggers come right out of my skin. i see more black specs like pepper than fibers?

back to my question. the infectious disease doc has ordered MANY test. one is the lymes test on the lab referral it states lymes (eia) (igg) (igm) is this the same as western bot? secondly can i request at the hospital a certain lab?

she has also ordered a gallium scan. perhaps because of my swollen lymph nodes and history of breast biopsy's. she has also suggested ra factor, ana lab work. any insight from the forum would be appreciated. uninsured and spending lots of home equity here. lol

When it says Lymes (eia) I don't know what eia stands for UNLESS it means ELISSA--which is the test that is the most commonly used one, and the LEAST accurate. (many FALSE negatives.) Igg & IGM are the acute & chronic forms of antibodies.
Usually you CANNOT specify the lab,unless you bring in your own kit & order form from IGENIX--which you can get from them by calling 1-800-832-3200, and asking them to mail it to you, and then having your doc put his info on the order sheet, and order a WESTERN BLOT IgG and IgM--pricey, but cheaper than doing it twice.

gallium scan looks for infections, & lymphoma

RA= rheumatoid factor, ANA=anti nuclear antibodies, these are some of the simple blood tests for auto-immune disease.

one more quick question please. am i wasting my money on these test? i have swollen lymph nodes, may be why she ordered the scan. will the scan help identify lymes or morgellons? very expensive test for the uninsured. was using equity in house hoping to find what was going on. i know by this site and this listed and treatment plans i have morgellons. just don't know how to be diagnosed with no medical record of such a disease. open to any opinion. i do have to say after years of surfing for help this site is the most informative.

That scan will not diagnose Lyme or Morgellons, but I was your doc, and I was actually worried enough to REALLY want a gallium scan because I thought that you might have Lymphoma, or something of that nature, then I would NOT be willing to treat you blindly and give you BAD medical care, because YOU wanted to "buy" the medical tests that indicated the diagnosis that you had already picked out for yourself---see what I mean?

I don't know how YOUR doc would feel about this... you would need to discuss this with him/her. Maybe she/he didn't have strong feelings about ordering it.

i didn't even have a clue what the test was before seeing my personal physician. what i am saying is no i did not pick the test out, the infectious disease doc did. sounds like i best rule out this lymphoma.
