| Is anyone else having this issue as horribly as I am? My head (shaved head) is nothing but this; both out and under scalp. They are on my face, arms, legs, ..well I think you get the pic by now. I have been able to decrease the mounds of whatever it is/was on my scalp but these hairs still grow. Some are very coarse and white white. Has anyone been able to rid themselves of this symptom and if so, please share. I think there may possibly be different strains of this disease. Anyone agree? I haven't yet gotten sores on my body but I get red pencil dots all over. What's up with that? I'm glad I haven't the sores yet, just hope they don't come. However, I will never be able to grow my hair back until/if something is resolved. I am at as loss here. They move so much also. Doesn't make any difference if I just shaved or not. They still move under skin.

| Posey, I had something very similar. And at first I had the white hairs loose on everything. Here are some things that helped me.... 1. LONG, soaking salt baths. I alternated those w enzyme baths. I also put organic oils in w the salts. The enzymes actually would get BUNCHES of hairs and fibers out!!! It seemed to disolve some of them. I used to take baths for myabe 8 to 10 hours a day. I even slept in it. Right now I am reading all of the "#1 Ladies Detective Agency" series in teh tub. It is very therapeutic. 2. I think the sauna really helps that as well. I still have some weird things on the sides of my face and forehead. But every other hair and fiber is gone. (I stillhave loose ones sometimes in my clothes. ) Except for a few small bumps and what I think are TINY fibers you can barely feel. |

| Yes I have it too. Some of my eyelashes have turned white, that is the ones that grow back after they keep falling out and take months to grow back. Many of my eyebrow hairs are white or clear. I had something that seemed to be a small light brown mole for a few years on the side of my face with a small clear hair looking thing sticking out. When I learned I had morgellons I pulled the thing out and it was clear, thick and course. It is no longer a bump nor is it raised but has turned into a freckle. The amount of fibers and specks that came out were unbelievable and it hurt really bad when I pulled whatever it was out of it. As for the red pencil dots ( I have them too and call them strawberry marks LOL I guess we all have our terminology) I believe they are actually "senile angiomas" as seen here: Angioma According to the small study done on Morgs as seen on the Morgellons.org site it is listed as something sufferers have in common....When I first read it I looked up every word I didn't understand in it and that was one of them. I said "yep, I have those also...damn!!!" As for the hair on my scalp I've always had thick long blonde hair. The individual strands were thick as well. Now they are baby fine and I start shedding quite a bit in spurts. For me it does grow back at a decent rate, but only to shed again a few months later. I chalked all of this as well as white or gray strands to my thyroid which does the same thing....hair loss graying etc. I chalked all of my symptoms off to my thyroid. My endo wanted to know if I had been sick with anything before my thyroid went on strike and I didn't think so. I now believe this lovely disease caused it. I use antidandruff shampoo since its antifungal. When I bathe in vinegar and baking soda (together so that it fizzes) it draws things out of my skin and my scalp. I make sure to keep my head submerged under water for a while. I just feel if the hair follicle is clogged with fibers, specs or whatever it will stop the hair growth and wondered if that isn't why mine sheds so much. It seems to help, although maybe mine would grow back anyway. I don't know. Taken from: http://www.morgellons.org/docs/Case_Series.pdf "The most common physical abnormalities found in this series include: 1) Numerous “senile angiomas” on the trunk, head and limbs of many; 2) Recurrent fever; 3) Awareness of itching, crawling, stinging or biting. When present, patients describe a circadian tempo to the symptoms; some occurring solely at night. Itching of unbroken skin specifically appeared to precede all other skin symptoms; 4) Unidentified objects (called “filaments” or “granules”) “extrude” uncomfortably from unbroken skin or skin lesions; 5) Painful ulcer-like concave, circular skin lesions with distinct border; 6) Excoriations adjacentto but separate from ulcerations were common; 7) Dermal symptoms were the central focus of discomfort for most patients. 8. Multiple organ system symptoms often appeared within the first six months of illness onset. The most common systems affected were the central and peripheral nervous systems, autonomic nervous system then endocrine, cardiovascular, and pulmonary systems Last edited by brat789; March 3rd, 2010 at 02:14 AM. |
