| I can't remember what healthy unadulterated squash and sweet potatoes look like when cooked. I just nuked an organic sweet potato and it is totally thready. It looks just like one of the many forms of the "M" fibers. Has anyone else noticed this? Can anyone remember what they are "supposed" to look like if there is nothing wrng with them? When I put a lotion on my head with some grapefruit seed sxtract (GSE) in it, the things I scrape off my head look just like this. Which reminds me, has anyone else scraped themselves and found what is on/in their skin/tissue besides the fibers? It looks like worms. It is horrible. I use both the dull and sharp side of a small parring knife. I am sick to my stomach right now from seeing this and having eaten some before I saw it. It was so good with cconut oil on it. ![]()

| Generally sweet potatoes cook better for a long time in slow oven (300 degrees), especially if they are tending towards being old (not close to harvest time). It helps break down the fibers when they are cooked slowly (though depending on age, they do not always disappear). This was something I learned from Marjorie Rawlings' book entitled Crosscreek which told the story of her life in small town, back country Florida. Something else, do not pierce sweet potatoes before cooking, at least when they are cooked in the slow oven as this allows the natural sugars to bubble out and dry out the potato. In a microwave they might burst if not pierced, but I do not personally think this is the best route for cooking sweet potatoes.

| Ya, Posey, I've always remembered sweet potatoes and some squash being like that. I am the worst cook in the world, so I did not know anything about cooking related to stringiness. But I know what you mean, that now certain shapes - even organic ones - can have a sickening feeling - bluck! ![]() I eat a lot of baked sweet potatoes - both with or without the coconut oil. Yum.. also w cinnamon sprinkled on... I bet even cayenne sprinkled on them would be good. mmmm!If the look makes you sick then I guess no more for you, but if you do decide to keep eating them, don't let the stringiness concern you. Maybe you had something very unusual tho... Mine are not real stringy. When possible tho, I only buy organic, or even from a Farmer's Market or Whole Foods, etc. |

| Oh, and I cook mine in the oven. I don't use microwaves now. I am trying to cut out as many unhealthy things as possible, but in a fun way - not overwhelming. |

| Really people, I'm not losin' it. I just began to cut up a head of raw cabbage and sure enough, there were clear like lengthy things in it with a very fine fiber coming out at the end. When I put the knife near them they would cling to it. Not stick, but cling. I didn't get close enough to them for it to be a sticking thing. I had an organic head of cabbage a few weeks ago that was not like this at all. I am fearful this "thing" has gone farther then we may even know. I can't say for sure that this is "M" in there but that is always the problem. Too many unknowns. I have to say though that I think it is a strong possibilit; only because I have seen them in so many different places where not expected such as polyester, linen, crocs, rayon, cardbpard boxes, and even paper towel. Something is terribly wrong with agriculture; in all forms.

| ya, Posey. It is not out fo the realms of possibility that it might not be infesting some vegetation. I eat cabbage too, but I do not ever remember "fibers" inside the leaves. The sweet potatoes, yes. Even organic things are often harmful. Lots of these trendy "green"things cause more harm than the thing we were doing before. Some organics used the pest control (I mean live, GMOs),... and some of the pest control is GM.... who knows. If it looks different than anything you have seen before, and it is the same type of cabbage, then maybe something is off. (Pretty soon we will have to only eat sunlight. ) |

| lol Kritters! Yummy green crackers. When I first got this M I kept thinking and saying something like, "If only the government had finished installing the rooms where you go to become a green cracker, that is where I would go now." I really spent a long time at the start of this wanting to be a green cracker. I would be a bit concerned for the eater, but still. Actually in some thread here, I mention the specific page (somewhere around page 1253 or so) where the cracker room implementation is mentioned in our lovely new health bill fine print. However, they are not yet open for the general public unless you have special permission. Once fully up and running it will be a great help for all those ppl who do not qualify for treatment. Yeah! ![]() But right now, I no longer want to be a green cracker because despite all odds I am hoping we will get help and get better. (I just started writing a poem "Ode to a Green Cracker,".. about being a lovely green cracker, sitting on a plate, with no butter and no M,... ) ![]() |
