Default bubbles

Have you noticed that, when you are sitting in a bath, you get small bubbles on many of your submerged hairs? (such as leg hairs or pubic hairs)

Smile bubbles

Hey Dave, I don't do tub bathes, but when I put vaseline on my face it feels like bubbles all over. Kind of think it is the morgs trying to breathe. That is why I use the vaseline, smother those devils if I could! DD

Dave -

I think that is normal. When water comes through a faucet, a lot of small air bubbles get mixed in with the agitation. They begin to find each other and make bigger bubbles. The same thing happens when you pour a glass of water (from the tap) and let it sit for awhile. Air bubbles will coalesce on the inside of the glass.
I had a 55 gallon fish tank some years ago, and whenever I changed the water, there were always bubbles on the glass for quite awhile. Eventually they "float out". Bubblers in fish tanks are intended to add air to the water, which the fish extract through their gills.
You can even see this happen when you fill the tub but don't get in it right away (along the porcelain).

Do you wash off the vaseline after a few minutes or leave it on?

Smile vaseline

I leave it on overnight. After a few minutes it seems to stop the movement on the face. Who knows?? I don't see what it would hurt even if it does not smother them. If they won't let me rest why should I let them rest? DD

I don't think Petrolium Jelly is good for you. I would try Olive Oil, Coconut Oil or Ponds Cold Cream. Ponds has Borax in it. I know of an old woman who has beautiful skin. She swears by it and so do many woman with exceptional young looking skin. It does seem to break your face out with lots of little white bumps though. I seen several places on the web that suggest keeping on using it for a couple months before they all go away. I tried it, but did not stick with it.Because I got side tracked using so many other things.

Petroleum jelly (vaseline) is NOT good for the skin. Key word, "petroleum" You can make your own non-petroleum, non-mineral jelly with bees wax and your favorite vegetable oil. I use coconut oil for practically everything now. I've been putting it in small little containers to keep everywhere for a 'chap-stick' because it stays hard at room temp. but in the summer, I think I'll mix it with the bees wax to keep it from melting (as much) in my purse.

makes you wonder why it's even on the market, doesn't it? Sure can't expect the FDA (our good ol' budds) to worry about it.

Ponds cold cream does have borax in it (which I think is a good thing) but also mineral oil (which is not good). My aunt used it religiously and for a while I guess her skin was okay (she was over-weight so that might have actually kept the wrinkles out ;-) But when she became ill the wrinkles sure revealed themselves.

I'll take the coconut oil (and Marc Neumann's DSP)

I like coconut oil too. It's Silky not oily and it seems to dry the lesions. I use it to remove eye make-up now instead of vaseline.

Does it stain your pillowcase if it gets on it? I used to put this ointment on my face that was, I think, 10% sulfur and the rest was almost all petroleum jelly. I left it on overnight, and I had almost no acne during this time frame. I also seemed to lose a bit of weight, but I don't know if it had anything to do with that.

The only things I didn't like about it was that I had to order it thru the Internet, and it stained my pillowcase and sheets. Plus, I was afraid of getting it in my eyes.
