Okay, now! I'm hoping this is a temporary predicament....not an early sick Christmas present. Anyone have a problem with hands? All of a sudden, it really hurts to flatten out my left hand and the right is stiff. Just happened today, but felt twinges all week. I do type a lot, but nothing more than usual. No joint pain ( a little stiffness all over sometimes ) anywhere else to speak of, but shoot. this really hurts to the point of my possibly not being able to type. so looks like my gems of wisdom ( ) might be short lived. I'll keep yas posted.ouch. Kritts

I have a friend who has Dupuytren's contraction. I think I have it also. I've noticed these whitish, hard, seemingly fat pads (nodules) in my hand palm in a few places. I think this is what is now causing the pain. This so sucks. I'm going to an accupuncturist. Maybe it will just last a day.

Oh, how weird! Gradually, over the last couple of months, the tendons in my left hand have started constricting to the point that when I open my hand wide they almost pop through the skin! My arthritis doctor told me to work at stretching my hand out, to fight it, or I will end up having to have surgery (which I am not going to do). Do you see anything on that hand when you stretch it as far as you can? It's really creepy looking. SS

Definition By Mayo Clinic staff Dupuytren's contracture is an uncommon hand deformity in which the connective tissue under the skin of your palm contracts and toughens over time. Knots of tissue form under the skin, eventually forming a thick cord that can pull one or more of your fingers into a bent position. Once this occurs, the fingers affected by Dupuytren's contracture bend normally but they can't be straightened completely, making it difficult to use your hand. Dupuytren's contracture can complicate everyday activities such as placing your hands in your pockets, putting on gloves or shaking hands. Dupuytren's contracture is rarely painful, though sometimes the bumps of tissue on your palm can be sensitive to touch. Various treatments are available for Dupuytren's contracture to slow its progression and relieve your symptoms.

This is amazing, my twin sissybum! Yeah, I googled it and one thing stood out (as usual): They don't know what causes it. Shocker!!! But they sure know how to give cortisone shots or perform surgery, don't they? This is absolutely related to my malady, I have no doubt whatsoever. I just did some massage and accupressure and guess what? Almost back to normal for now. And I was in serious pain fifteen minutes ago. I'm definitely going to go to accupuncture for this. My friend just told me he's going to go to a hand specialist. I told him, "okay, you go to your hand job, er specialist, I mean and I'll go to an accupuncturist, and we'll meet in 6 months to compare notes" ![]() Wow. This is really something, SS!!! xoxoKritts

I'm thinking we (or someone) should put this on Lymebusters or some other Lyme-related forum to see if anyone else has developed these symptoms who also have Lyme and/or Morgellons. Kritts

Kritts - I do what you described - massage and stretch as much as I can. I am quite certain that advanced symptoms, or accumulation of "debris" occurs at certain parts of my body that have been injured or stressed. I think I talked about that one time, that wherever I had an injury more junk would come out through the skin at that place. I even had "carpal tunnel" for a few years - diagnosed with EMGs - and when I extracted stuff through the skin on my wrists, the "carpal tunnel" went away!! I had a consult with Dr. Schaller (when I was new with this) and one of the questions he asked was for a summary of any injury/surgery I'd had, no matter how old. This was a questionnaire for a Morgellons consult. I had also read somewhere that this phenomenon has been observed with Lyme. I think the phrasing was that "it collects at sites of injuries". This may not be exactly the same thing... SS

| I dunno, Sackster~ My thinking tells me that the hands and feet are where most parasitic maladies (like Lyme) manifest themselves. If we look at that meridian zones or nervous system (most dentrites are in the hands and feet) or circulatory or whatever ya got, and look at the reflexology connection of foot to body (even though we're talking hands here). I think things end up in the hands. Many people have arthritis in the hands first before it spreads to the rest of the body. You know how they dismiss many 'growths' as over-zealous 'tissue' when most are actually containing organisms...fungus for one. I think this is the case. I never had an injury to my hands to substantiate any kind of growths like this (although I agree with that hypothesis of disease going to prior injuries or weak areas first...probably because it's acidic....) But we have like a bazillion joints in the hands and with the joints is cartilage and connective tissue. I wonder (and will research it) what it actually is that creates arthritis in joints. It's not the bone itself. I think there are critters that use our resources and congregate there, take it over and that's that. Nothing is as it seems, ya know? | Boyoboy, I'm on a roll now. It's no wonder I can't make any money at working! LOL I'm going to put this out there and if anyone responds 'yes' I'll do a poll. In light of the fact that Lyme disease manifests in the joints if left untreated to the point of crippling, and arthritis is a 'joint' disease, I have a question (and personal theory I don't expect anyone to agree with). Does anyone have a bunion on their feet? Although the medical field sez they are caused by wearing tight shoes, I know differently. I've seen men inherit these deformities who never have worn tight shoes, and I have a pronounced one on my LEFT foot (everything seems to be on my left side) and a slight one on my right foot. I've had it since a child. (never wore my mother's heels LOL) I realize this is considered to be an inherited thing, but given what I've found out these days I believe some things were caused by organisms and passed down through the genes. This really pisses me off, to be honest. So many things could have been corrected if modern medicine didn't take over and ignore naturopathic medicine. I believe the herpes virus is involved in arthritis and SO MANY other maladies and illnesses. Why do you think they can't find a cure for it? because it causes so many things, too much money is at stake to find a cure. That's why. Just like cancer and aids. Sad thing is, many of the people who are in a position to see this for what it is, and are actually a part of it (like lobbyists and many medical doctors) DON'T. OKAY. Off the soap box. My feet are beginning to hurt from the pressure. Kritts |
