Wondering once more about what they stuff pillows and comfortors with these days.

Can't sleep 2nd time washing my son's stored comforter only to find the same stuff coming out of my head all over it. Are the new down alternative comforters really safe? I can not stand sleeping on the pillows made out of the same stuff. Found this site and wondered.

Thanks for the links. If people can afford it, bamboo bedding is your choice. It is naturally anti-microbial, anti-insect/mites and does not contain the dangerous chemicals found in synthetics.

There's another link somewhere on this board about bamboo materials.

Orange oil destroys at least some components of Morgellons materials. I learned that before I even knew I had Morgellons, before the classic symptoms developed. Here's how:

My HVAC was not cooling well. I had someone clean the coils - which were COVERED with a whitish substance. Couldn't even see the coils. When he sprayed them with a 50/50 water & orange oil solution, the whitish stuff MELTED IN A SECOND. He then sprayed the coils with plain water to rinse them, and the residual that came through in the water was hundreds (thousands?) of black specks. He asked me what these were, as he'd never seen anything like that. Of course, I hadn't a clue.

It was many months before I knew about Morgellons and black specks. Then it all clicked in and I started using orange oil for cleaning, and continue to this day.

Btw - spraying the air with a solution of it cleared my nostrils and sinuses.

This comforter is not a down one but synthetic down. The thing had this stuff leaking out of it when I brought it home from the store after only a couple of days. It reminds me of the link about making clothing fibers from bacillius subtilis. sp? I do have more then one thing coming from my skin though but this same long fiber thing just happens to be one of them and it usually happens when I apply anything peppermint I usually also feel the wiggling squirming sensation before I look and notice either the moving long fiber or a balled up fiber. Just like everyone else says about the long ones it moves like it is alive. Creepy.
Just wondering how they are deriving the fibers used in these today. I remember researching it a while back.

The mold issue I have looks much different. The black specs you mentioned I have had the same thing happen while washing my hair. at first the stuff looks white but after taking samples from the sink it was tiny black specs. Not hair either.

What type of orange spray do you use SS? Have you tried this in your wash?

I actually bought a new balance sports jacket that was made from bamboo it is one of my favorite things to wear now.

I recently bought a good air purifier the type they used in hospitals during the sars outbreak in Hong Kong. It is too soo to know if it will help.

I also purchased the new hoover platinium vacuum I love this thing came with a free canister. The dust in my room has already decreased since vacuuming a couple of times with it. I had a bissell healthy home and now I wonder how much it was kicking back into the room after seeing how much less dust has resettled in my bedroom. It also has a hygenic hepa bag that self seals when you go to change it so no more poofs of dust getting on who ever changes it.

I once found a candy wrapper in a throw pillow I bought when I opened it to clean it. I couldn't pronounce the name of the candy. I think it was something like, Morg Sugar fix.....

We threw all our comforters away and will never use any again. We use white polyester blankets. Never buy a comforter made in China.

I thought I was loosing it..everytime I lay on my pillows I could hear crinkle crinkle crinkle..ALL my pillows are now outside. I thought saw it move 2 nites ago so was final straw.. I now sleep on a air mattress with no pillows till I figure out how to clean us and house up on cheap..since havent worked in four months.

You are not crazy I have gone through the same thing. I now use a natural latex pillow seems to be better but even with those you need to replace often.
