Question Distinct smell of 'm'?

Hi all,

Does anyone recall a strange smell occuring in their homes, cars, bedrooms. Like a damp, mold smell with a sickly sweet tinge?

A morgellon sufferer asked me about this morg smell which was everywhere in her home. I didnt quite understand.

This week I've smelt this stange moldy smell in 3 different homes (where I suspect cases of morgs) and have just clicked that I've smelt it before - 12 years ago in my room at Uni.

Yes, Jo, I have also noticed that. My hair/head smelled like that...a sweetish, ugly smell...didn't know where it came from at that time. And at my mom's house, one room has a mold problem and it smells exactly like you describe. When she comes visiting, even her clothes have that smell..

Interesting Kat. I wonder if any molds have a 'sweet aroma'.

If I put 'sweet musty smell in house' in google, there's 135000 hits!

they mention bed bugs and roaches??? aaaagggghhhh just when I thought I was researching anything but insects

Hi Jo,
Yes a sweet nasty smell. I would seem to have it from time to time at the wall behind my bed. I'd walk into my bedroom and go to my nightstand and it would hit you like a wall of stink. It seemed to come very early in the morning and last till about 10 am. I'd sniff around and could never find where it was from. It was not from the bed or the nightstand or bathroom or laundry room. I thought we might have trouble with septic tank. I paid over $500 getting the septic tank checked. It was fine. Ouch! Thing is though that smell has lingered in the shower at times even after rinsing it down even with bleach. So once again I know its morgs. God this is a nightmare.

Yes - I remember at Uni thinking it was behind my bed...Could this be an early morg symptom?

Hiya all,

couldn't this just be the sweet smell of mold?

when I was a kid I LOVED the smell of basements.

But then I was a weird kid.

Still am. (not a kid ....WEIRD)

Hey Kriteirdo

Its a musty, sickly, ugly smell. Its very distintive. Not the normal damp smell or earthy smell you get walking into a greenhouse.

Hi Again,
Kritters weird noooo, I used to like the smell of the gas at the gas station when I was a kid. Now Ugg.
Also as far as I know we don't have mold problem here. I have said before my home with my husband was gutted because of it. Can't be 100% though. Gosh, hope not (knock on wood). I did not think of this till I read Jo's second post about the washer at my home with my husband. Every once in a while a load of clothes would be sour. This was before all of this broke out (morgs). Thing is I would not notice it till I was wearing something. Then I'd go smell everything to rewash them.Could never understand how it got past me, I'm the one who can detect everything. I'm like known for it. Anyway we were on city sewer then and I kept thinking that the dirty wash water was backing up somehow, with absolutly no evidence of it though. I do feel this was an early sign. Funny thing, now I have morgs and it has not happened in my little place I have now. Something else Jo posted about bugs, don't have roaches or heaven forbid bedbugs. Not that I've seen. I did have little ants and spiders for a while. Pretty much got rid of them. The problem now is dead big red with black round tail end on them ants. Every day dead ants on floor and in shower. Big suckers.I think they were swarming for a while. I keep wondering whats next.

Claudia

PS, So many, many thoughts that tie back to morgs.
