Someone tell me this isn't all they plan on for this month! I'm flippin out here! I almost smashed my monitor when I saw this! Is this the CDC's "update" for November!!!!!!!!! Preliminary Report on Progress of External Peer Review of CDC’s Unexplained Dermopathy Project to the CCID Board of Scientific Counselors November 4, 2009 In January 2008, CDC launched an epidemiologic investigation of an unexplained skin condition which some refer to as “Morgellons.” The primary goals of the investigation are to help us learn more about who may be affected with this condition and the symptoms they experience and to generate hypotheses about factors that may contribute to it. Data collection has been completed and analysis is ongoing. This investigation was conducted out of the National Center for Zoonotic, Vector-borne, and Enteric Diseases’ (NCZVED) Division of Parasitic Diseases (DPD), with input from a cross-agency, multi-disciplinary workgroup. On September 24, 2009, DPD convened an external review panel to examine study activities to date and provide advice on future activities. DPD outlined several questions for the panel to address: 1. Have the project’s goals and priorities been addressed? 2. What are the study’s strengths? 3. What are the study’s limitations? 4. Are there gaps of concern or need for additional study? 5. What findings can be communicated to the public, medical community, and stakeholder community? 6. What is the public health impact of this study? 7. What should the priorities be in the future? The panel has not yet released a report of its findings to CDC. When we receive a report from the panel, we will share it with members of the BSC, along with the program’s response to the panel’s findings and recommendations. DPD and NCZVED leadership will meet with CDC leadership to discuss options for future program activities to address any issues raised by the panel, including considerations for potential organizational home for further research.

| Hi dereck, Don't go flip out on your monitor! This is normal news from the CDC! Ugh. And now the NWO has given us the H1N1 virus (a diversion) I believe the CDC will put "Morgellons" on hold for another few years. But many of us aren't counting on anything from the CDC and a lot of us are getting better. Don't give up on hope. We have a great group here and those of us who have gotten through the worst part on "M" are willing to stick around and help. Peace, love, ~jonsi

What we expect is validation. They could have AT LEAST done that. I am 100% certain that they will not have answers as to the cause, for either of two reasons. The first is they already know what it is and have for a long time, and they for sure aren't going to tell us. The other is that they don't know, and if that is the case, they will need more ammunition to crack this than what goes in just about any other disease. It is far more complex, with more varied and bizarre presentations than anything known to man. Judging from the evasiveness and coyness of this "report", my money is on the first reason. I'm sick to death of this, and more disappointed in "my governement" than I ever thought possible. SS

The more I think about it SS the more I think this outside panel is nothing but and bunch of outside consultants looking to drag this study out as long as possible...if thats the case epect this to go on for at least another 3-6 months.

Why The Heck Is The Cdc The Only Agency Looking Into This? Because Until Now, Not Many People Even Knew About It. But Thanks To The Internet And Dedicated People Who Speak Out And Do Independent Research, Answers Will Be Demanded In Larger Numbers. Kritts

It's amazing that they could put together a "preliminary report" using so many words and say so little. I agree, dc, this is the next step in "stalling and appeasement". There will be another report with more ambiguous statements and more stalls. Maybe even another year or two at the next stage. Only they won't say that - they'll give a time frame, then double it like they did this go-around. Keep buying enough time until..... SS
