| This negative info is disheartening to say the least. To imagine this woman was forcebly committed because of her insistantcy is down right criminal, AGAIN. Physical illness or internet virus? Under the skin of a medical mystery

| Espesially when this woman says she DUG the marks on her skin and made them herself, SHE WAS A HUGE HELP!!! Excuse me for making this post so small but I have to go dig my brain out and throw it in the toilet. That will be used against every person alive that comes up with lesions!!!!!! I can hear it now as I heard it before why don't you just leave them alone. The answer to that is they do not HEAL ALONE!! |
| |||
| I know Gillian, and saw this article before it hit the internet. She was tooled. She did not say exactly that about the lesions; she admitted that she did remove things out of some of the lesions, and that disclosure was twisted. The article itself was thrown together in a couple of days by a small time reporter who did almost no research. Just looking for attention-grabbing headlines without regard for the added suffering that her words might bring. I used to say I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I am changing my mind about that. There are a few dozen people (won't list them here) who need to get this. Many of them have "MD" after their names, others are ruthless, lazy, and narrow-minded "journalists". SS |

| This came up in a Google Alert for Morgellons. I knew she would have been mis-quoted. After all she went through baring her scars and her soul these Bastards went and did that. Barak ,Your a wise guy but you still think the Media prints the truth. ![]() Isn't it funny how all the negative stuff come up in Google Alerts but nothing from Jan Smith or someone equally credible does? |
| |||
| Carla - You do make a good point about what pops up on Google Alert. I've never seen Jan Smith's work come up - and she is REAL researcher, not an internet searcher, nor does she attempt to elevate her ego through "words of wisdom" and the other silliness that I see sometimes come up. Not to mention the porn sites that make their way to it....arrrghhh!!! Baraka - If Gillian had any idea how her words would have been twisted, you can bet that she would have kept that to herself. She was trying to do a good thing, not but was somehow naive about the potential. Reporters looking for a story are very good at manipulating people, much the way a police interrogation might go. | can you imagine how she feels!! I feel so bad for her. What a rotten, rotten thing to do. Another thing filed in the "Sucks" folder.

| The first item that made me hold this article's credibility suspect was the incredibly OLD quote from the CDC. Firstly I couldn't believe that a CDC spokesperson would be ignorant enough to say that but then I checked into it and it was ole Danny Boy or em Dan Rutz waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in June of 2006 when the first whispers began about looking into this condition. Pretty old quote if you ask me. CDC to investigate mystery disease Why use such an old quote you might ask? Well, to slant an article to suit it to your liking is the answer. In January 2008 the lead investigator Michel Pearson did not use any such language when speaking with reporters regarding this condition. The TONE definitely has changed since 2006!!!! __________________________________________ CDC Press Briefing Transcripts January 16, 2008 DR. MICHELE PEARSON: What I can tell you is real is the suffering that these patients are experiencing. I cannot characterize this as a syndrome, as disease. I can tell you it′s an unexplained illness. That clearly, the suffering that these patients are experiencing is real. I′ve actually, as part of my preparation for taking on this scientific lead have actually seen not only as a scientist, but as a physician, a patient up close and personal, and I thought that was very important for me to do, as part of my preparation for this. I had read about it. I had had heard about it. And I talked to numerous patients over the phone, but I′ve actually had the opportunity to meet one of these patients first hand. And what I can tell you is the suffering and the impact of this condition on their lives, whether you want to label it a disease or condition and I don′t—I′m not so concerned with the label but what they′re experiencing in terms of the suffering is real. And, I think, it′s important and this is why the agency has decided to look into this in much more depth. _____________________________ Morgan Last edited by Morgan; November 1st, 2009 at 06:10 PM. |

| I wouldn't give this reporter too much cred...many errors in the report itself...to name a few Morgellons as the author of the origional paper...wrong! Mary Leito CA resident....wrong again...I'm sure there are more but if this reporter can't even get those facts correct her opinions don't carry much weight. |

| I agree. Exactly my thoughts, except I wish I knew how soon the truth will come out. It's media like this that holds the truth back. People are more inclined to disbelieve those suffering than the media. Especially in a case where the illness resembles that of a Stephen Speilberg movie.
