Default STILLLLL making people scratch and feel itchy =( EVERYONE near me is affected.

Hi everyone,

I know this thread has been opened before. However, no one seems to be talking about it. It is long so I broke it down in sections. Does anyone make people around them feel itchy? As for me, EVERYONE who comes close to me, near me, or in my vicinity, will without a doubt start feeling itchy or feel a bite / pin prick, or feel like something is crawling on them. They will start scratching their arms, their scalp, fluffing their hair as if trying to rid themselves of bugs, scratch their eyebrows, dig their finger into their ears, rub their eyes, look at their skin over and over trying to find the culprit. I have asked what is bothering you pretending I dont know and always the same reply. I dont know but something is biting me or something is crawling on me. People on this board have said they live with others and others are not affected. Well not for me. I affect everyone and anyone and pets too. I know it sounds crazy regarding pets but read below. I NEED HELLLLLLP DESPERATELY. I would be so much happier if it only affected me, but since it immediately affects others, I am driven to isolation and further depression.

DOGS
Even my dog scratches around me, sneezes, and nibbles at his legs, and tries to scratch his eyes with his paws when he is around me. (You might think I am just being sensitive so let me describe the test that I did) At first, I thought perhaps my dog had some mites or was reinfesting me so i doused him with all kinds of possible medications. The vet told my dog didnt have anything but i still gave him all kinds of medicines and washes. well, come to find out, I put him through hell for nothing because when I left him at one of my family members house for a week, he didnt scratch at all! and then, when i came to pick him up, he started furiously scratching again and rubbing his body on the carpet and sneezing. Again, my family member verified, he didnt do that once while he was at their house. Poor thing is suffering because of me.

BABIES
Another thing, I went to go see a friend's baby just recently and the poor baby was having a sneezing fit and ONLY when I held him. (I am sure if the baby could scratch, he would have been scratching too.) My friend joked maybe the baby is allergic to you...

Friends, family, work people, at a bar, at the market, in a restaurant, in an elevator, ANYONE AND EVERYONE will scratch around me. it is making me isolated and feel so terrible and slowly everyone is realizing the culprit is me, driving me into further isolation and depression. Doctor says it is because I scratch and thus, people scratch just like yawning. BUT I DONT SCRATCH AT ALLl because of fear that they might think it is from me. i try to pretend that i dont know what is going on and will ask them.

OBSERVATIONS / CULPRITS
Whatever it is, is airborne and microscopic. I have also observed the same lint ball (a small piece of lint ball with a thread hanging on it) that is on me go into their hair and the tiny white threads that are wrapped around my individual hairs on my scalp and on my arm hairs fly towards them. Could this be what is bothering them? I know I have these lints/fibers/threads floating or flying or whatever all around me and on me and on and in all of my belongings. If I were to shake my clothes or rub my skin, thousands would fly out. When I look at my hair I see the lint balls and sometimes they are just the tiny threads wrapped around. Perhaps they are just the threads and then revolve into the lint balls? Perhaps I am letting off some mold/fungus?

Another thing I notice is that when people are around me and start scratching like a madperson, I start feeling intense crawling, pin pricking sensation. Sometimes, it is present when I am alone and sometimes, it is barely noticeable. However, when I get around other people I get it bad. I am thinking it is because they are trying to get off me and go to other people and that is why we are both suffering?

HAIR

Also, this thing LOVES hair. I have the painful pin pricks and crawling mostly on my scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes, arm hair. and usually, those are the targeted places that people scratch and as for my dog, well he is covered with hair. I have noticed bald people will not scratch their heads, but they will scratch their eyebrows, arm hair, or their back. (I am assuming these people have hairy backs.) When I wear hats, it seems to lesson the contagiousness of it, but people will still scratch. I am assuming because it is from the other hairs on my body or my clothes?

CRY FOR HELP

HELPPPP. I have tried smothering myself with lotion, sticky substances, oils, sprays, enzymes, antifungal medicines. They dont work. If i have to live the rest of my life like this I would rather die.

SYMPTOMS
crawling on my scalp, on my back upper and lower, on my face esp above my lip, when i wear certain clothes, and esp around other people. black specks everywhere esp on my arms, pin pricking or sharp bites on my scalp and my toes, fluttering sensation/ movement on my eyelashes, eyebrows, lint threads on my eyelashes, eyebrows, arm hair, head hair, lint balls on my head hair, arm hair, on clothes, tiny floating white lint / thread everywhere, fruit flies / very tiny black looking flies around my scalp and face. I know they are fruit flies because I have caught them and they have the red eyes with brown stripes. the tiny black flies I have never caught because they are so fast. when i brush my hair in the bathroom these fruit flies will come out or when i am out they will be buzzing around my head. I think they are attracted to the lint fuzz balls / threads. Either that or they are breeding in my scalp causing the painful pin pricks and bites and crawling around.

HELPPP!

Default Itchy and scratchy

Hi Lintbugs,

Great observations. Thanks for posting.

I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety with this. I share it too.

I dont know whether we have:

1) a different strain of morgs
2) an extra add on critter
3) or are just in a certain part of the morg cycle
4) are more observant than other morgs!!...ok graspin at straws here lol
5) are shedding more due to poor management of symptoms or immune system difference.

I know of 3 others that reported this problem - Mat, Sydney and MJ. I know Carls and Hilly mentioned it happened now and again.

I know we shed alot. And the change of seasons is a bad time for us.

I'd like to ask you some questions Linty to see what other things we've got in common. Will pm ya.

I'd really recommend using Hibiclens as a shower gel and shampoo for starters. You can get it from Walmart. Leave it on for 4 minutes and rinse off. It should reduce white particles forming.

Also try having a brief hot bath with 2 canisters of salt (any kind) and add in lavender, citronella, clove, teaoil oils. See if you notice all the white bits leaving skin. If so, continue with this weekly until it stops.

Rinse hair with vinegar and use a good conditioner under shower.

When I'm around people I use a hair product with bees wax in, which helps - concentrating on back and top of scalp. I've found that a leather hat, with polyester lining works best to stop them leaving and I'm sure most come from the scalp/neck region.

When I'm not with people I use citronella in body/hair lotion, as this makes particles leave skin and boosts immune system. Best to go for a walk, so home and pets dont get covered!

Hope this helps some.

Big hugs

Jo xxx

Your not alone Linty!! That is the main issue I am having. I try and do a Apple Cider Vinegar bath (16 oz) atleast every other day. It brings temporary relief but, doesn't stop them.

I know how torturous it is. It drives me insane sometimes, almost to the point of depression. Hang in there, and keep your hopes up! An Jo any extra advice you want to throw my way would be greatly appreciated as well.

-John

I just noticed that Jo has posted about hibiclens and thought that it might interest newcomers to also read the thread that Pat started about this product (well the British version, hibiscrub). There was a ton of good information from various members in this thread which may interest pleasehelp_lintbugs (btw welcome to you, sorry you have had to join this club but glad you found us):

Sorry John - forgot you're afflicted with this bit too!

I find pickling vinegar added to very salty bath helps draw them out, so similar idea to apple cider vinegar.

Other things to try -

1) find an intense hair conditioner or certain moisturisers and rub into dry skin and hair and then RUB OUT like this:

Debris busters

2) Use alcohol hand rub and tea tree oil on skin to rub out particles.

3) Use neem oil on skin or green tea in spray bottle or added to moisuriser.

4) Use zinc diper cream on skin (can be combined with teatree or citronella) - go easy with this because it may cause herx die off including kidney ache BUT can progress skin health in long term.

There is a sulfur based soap called Azufre recommended by former poster tcm that helps greatly if used everywhere including hair. Apply all over, shut off the shower and pray like crazy for 4 minutes. You will feel them trying to get going, target your "spots" while praying like crazy! The prayer thing helps me keeps sane.. it's your shower.. do what you want.. but try the soap for at least 2 months.. I think it was drugstore.com. Good luck.

Thanks Lamb.

We should try it and report back on if pets and people are itching less around us, like a mini trial...here's one US supplier:

AZUFRE SOAP (SULPHUR) - $2.49

Linty, John...up for it?

Hey I'll try it. But Lamb when you say pray, is that because this stuff burns, or are yu just asking for some divine intervention?

I believe that what might irritate skin in regular sulfur soaps is levels which are too high (5-10%) for sensitive skin along with added artificial fragrances. Here is a sulfur soap which has no added fragrance (which can be a skin irritant/allergen for some) and also has a lower 3% level of sulfur. This product is more expensive (about $8 US per bar), but probably would be a safer choice if someone hesitates about trying such a soap. It also contains dead sea salts and olive oil. Complete ingredient list below. Many on the forum just use OTC medicated Selsun Blue Shampoo with 1% selenium sulfide which is even lower in sulfur content than this soap.

Lamb, I am not a former member. Also this is the first time I have discussed any type of sulfur soap. Glad to hear that you don't have problems with the soap and that in fact you find it effective (not sure what Jo's download says which made her change her mind about trying it). I am fairly sure, as with anything else connected to this illness, that not only do we have different symptoms but we also have different products which are safe and effective for us as individuals.

Sulfur Soap | Sulphur Soap on Sale
