Default BLAST Basic Local Alignment Search Tool

Discussion of this topic began in the "Parasitic Wasp" thread and I have moved the discussion here.

I have started this thread with the hopes of gaining the interest of those researching morgellons. BLAST, Basic Local Alignment Search Tool is a tool used to compare the genome of an organism to those of other organisms and it is a powerful program that continues to evolve, it is used by top Scientists all over the world. It can be found here:

BLAST: Basic Local Alignment Search Tool

In upcoming posts I will explain the little that I do know about using this tool so that one can get started without pulling their hair out like I did, it's not really as hard as it looks and the rewards from learning how to use this tool can be worthwhile, it's pure Science.

I think the correlation with FUNGI and STREP PNEUMONIA is really significant. And the viruses (probably forms of herpes).

I hope you don't mind my questions (I'm not an outstand researcher like you and our other sleuths) but could you run the mycoplasma fermentans?

Thanks again for running the bed bug. the fact that it aligns with the particular deer tick speaks volumes, I think. I wouldn't be surprised if it carries Lyme...but I'd love to see you also run the Herpes viruses (esp. cytomegalovirus).

Amazing that you can do this. What a tool!

Kritts

Your right Kritt, BLAST is an incredibly amazing tool that has the ability to answer many questions, it's a library of the building blocks of all life that grows on a daily basis. There are answers just sitting there waiting to be discovered, and the Gene Bank as well as the alignment tool are available to everyone, all's one has to do is learn how to use them.

I'm not going to lie to you, it was and is a struggle for me to figure this thing out, and I'm still an amateur of amatuers with this tool, but the rewards are well worth the time, to me anyways because each time I compare the genomic data of sponges to other forms of life the picture gets clearer and clearer and the stack of evidence to prove my theory gets larger and larger.

To answer this question Kritt

Do you think there's a possibility that the sponge could have been USED in your above cases to 'do their thing' and intentionally CREATE or REPLICATE organisms?

No, man has nothing to do with this, most of what these genomes contain is the result of things that took place long before we were in the picture.

I hope you don't mind my questions (I'm not an outstand researcher like you and our other sleuths) but could you run the mycoplasma fermentans?

I will BLAST mycoplasma fermentans against all the other forms of life and let you know what comes up.

When using BLAST to compare the genomes of sponges to other life forms the one thing that stands out the most to me is the nature of organisms that these alignments with the sponge occurs, nine times out of ten these organisms are destructive, they are generally parasitic and/or pathogenic, they are the worst of the worst, I think this speaks volumes. Whether it's fungi, insects, bacteria, or protozoa this is generally the one thing these organisms have in common, and I also find it interesting that in many cases the destructive organism tends to target the female and often her reproductive system, which aligns somewhat with morgellons being that there is a five to one ratio, women to men, of those affected.

So far what I'm finding in relationship to the sponge genomes are significant alignments with the same organisms or groups of organisms. When BLASTing sponges against fungi there are almost always a large number of alignments, more so than with anything else, and as I said, the species that these alignment occurs are pathogenic in nature, most often from the group Fungi Imperfecti. The one organism that tends to align more often with the sponge than anything else is Drosophila, the common fruit fly. Over and over, regardless of the species of sponge used in the comparison, the fruit fly is at the top of the list.

Now Science would most likely respond to what I'm finding with the same old song and dance that they been using for decades, it's evolution, everything evolved from the sponge, well that's asinine, if that were the case then everything would align with the sponge and this simply is not the case, besides the most current Science claims that we are not related to the sponge at all. This article is dated April of this year and this study is the most comprehensive study to date.

No Sponge In Human Family Tree: Sponges Descended From Unique Ancestor

So what do those Scientists, who claim that the reason the sponge possesses a nearly complete set of genes for a human nervous system is because we evolved from them, have to say now?

Origins Of Human Nervous System Traced Back To Sea Sponge-cells! - Science Ahead

I would sure like to know because if their answer is now in the trash my answer is all that's left, the sponge has these genes because they acquired them from us, through direct cell to cell contact, proving that they are parasitic to humans and proving that they can copy and store the genetic code of other organisms. The only aspect of the theory left to prove, in my opinion anyway, is that they are also capable of translating this genetic code into the structure or entity that it represents.

Besides the sponge having significant alignments with many species of fungi and the fruit fly there are also many alignments with the deer tick, which brings Lyme disease into the picture, there has also been alignments with the honey bee which brings their plight into the picture. There are also a considerable number of alignments with the silk worm, which tends to support an idea that I had cross my mind a couple of years ago while studying metamorphosis, that all life which undergoes extreme metamorphosis may likely be the result of the sponge's manipulation of DNA, the butterfly and moth for instance, alignments here as well, lets not forget that silk is much like the fibers with morgellons and many have reported cocoon like objects with morgellons too.

There are also significant alignments between the sponge and a number of bacteria, species that have plagued humans for centuries like Streptococcus pneumoniae and E. coli.

There have also been a number of alignments with beetles, diatoms, dinoflagellates, mycoplasmas, and microsporidium

In my next post I will walk you through the process of using BLAST so that everyone can learn enough to get started, before long some of you will be teaching me. There are a lot of uses for BLAST, for those of you researching proteins this tool is a must, I have not dove into this area at all yet.

If you've ever entertained the idea that you might want to learn how to utilize the worldwide gene bank and genomic analyzing tool know as BLAST then this threads for you. I'm going to provide you with the very basic skills to get you started.

First off go here

BLAST: Basic Local Alignment Search Tool

The top left corner of this page you will see "NCBI", right click on it and open the link in a new window or tab.

The new window/tab will look like this, the red box represents what you will be using here

Click the arrow in the box that says "All databases" and select "nucleotide"

In the box to the right of that one is where you will enter the terms used to find the genomic data you will be analyzing, in this example we will use sponges. The 18s ribosomal RNA gene is the most conserved so we will start with this one. Enter "sponges 18S AND complete NOT partial" exactly like this into that box and then click on "Go" The results will look like this.

Highlight and copy to the clipboard the number shown in the red box.

Now go back to the other window/tab that we first started with, the very first link I provided at the beginning of this lesson.

Continued in next post.

Click on the link in the red box

Now you should see something like this, you may have to expand invertebrates to get to "Insects" Once you see "Insects" click on the "B" just to the right of "Insects"

Now you should see something like this.

Enter that number that you copied to your clipboard in the box I have identified with the red rectangle, click on the "+" next to "Arthropods" that I have shown with one of the other red rectangles, then click on "BLAST"

continued on next post

Now you will see this. Click on "view report"

Now you will see what, if any, significant alignments have been found.
