Default Anybody ever go to Hair Removal Salon?

I just made an appt. at one of these places. These people must know the biology of hair don't you think?

With all the many techniques for hair removal and skin treatments I would assume they have some sort of license to perform the procedures.

My appt. is not until July 6th, but I am hoping they wil be able to see and verify something isn't normal. Thy aren't the white coats and may take more interest. At least that is the plan.

After 5 derms. it was finally an Electrolysist who told me she knew what my problem was; why my skin would get sporadic thickened, and often calloused like skin on my face. She said the hair on my face was lying flat underneath my skin. I had no idea what was really going on. She tried it that day but I coudn't tolerate the pain.

Venetia, yes I think it is biofilm, plaque, fake skin, or whatever it really is which hopefully the near future will unveil. But I'm not holding my breath for the answer.

My appointment is tomorrow. Numerous times I ahve thought of cancelling it but I think I'll go. I'm interested in the reaction when it is seen how much of what is really not hair can be pulled from my head underneath and coming through this film. Some places it is so much thicker and looks like a mound. Some spots are easily pliable. If I use a tweezers to pull "hair" from it, the tweezers can easily push it down and I can't always get out this funny hairlike stuff. That is, until I put GSE [Grapefruit Seed Extract] on it.

Behind my ears and at the top of my ears including the scalp in close proximity, this "hair" is like fuzz hair underneath this stuff. I have been using the GSE full strength in those areas and it is really mazing how it removes it but it is very sore there now, not sores but sore. My eyelids are the same way. I have used the GSE on them, not full strength, but I get somewhat afraid of what it might do to my eyes. Right now my eyelids are puffed up from it but I think it is because of the stuff that is on them. At one time I could take my eyelids by the sides with my thumb and index finger and pull them out over an inch. At that time I was recommended by my PCP to go to opthamologist for a peripheral vision test, but I didn't go.

Regarding this "hair", it needs to be kept in mind that I use either a 2x or 15x magnified mirror when I try to remove this crap. Got the 15x one at Walmart for $5. It's small but it helps to see what's going on.

I have alot of it on my face now, which I guess broke through the skin last Oct. when I first began to feel stuff moving on me. But the more I use the GSE and the film comes off, it is evident there is more underneath. I get these white things which come out of my skin when I put GSE or other stuff on my face and it is at that time when I really have tickling, crawly feelings. These white things are all over.

I'm hoping that I will be helped with some of this "hair" removal by going tomorow. That is if the person will not be afraid to get "up and close" to do whatever procedure which may help.

Default my derm appt

Throughout this nightmare, I never saw a dermatologist. I knew, instinctively, that this is a systemic affliction. Anyway, now that I am very nearly symptom-free (for almost a year and a half), I thought I would get a "routine" evaluation, you know ...precancers, etc.
I never said a word about bugs, itching, black specks, Morgellons. You know, just played the part of a "normal person" to get an objective opinion. I asked him about the hundreds of tiny hypopigmented dots, and he said that the skin loses its ability to produce pigment when you get older and have been in the sun a lot (that's me).
I don't know if I believe him completely, but he did take a good look (with magnification) and that was all I wanted.
So I'll go into a denial mode, thank you doc.

In my case I am sure the dots are some type of skin damage from the bacterium. At first I kept noticing new freckles, but did not know what to think.

then one night I (again) felt a fast tickling feeling on my hand and then something like an electric shock. I jump up and check my hand and see a new, small freckle I was sure was not there before, but still I had no way of knowing for sure. I try to go back to sleep and the same thing happens on the other hand, only this time I KNEW it was a new freckle because I had just looked.

To provide even more proof, I put GSE on the spot and it started going away. There is still a small spot there now.

About the skin, I keep doing everything I can to scrape my skin as often as possible. I do facial scrubs and peels. If I had money I would start doing facial laser peels. I think it is URGENT to get the film (which looks like extra skin) off ASAP!! The longer it is there the more bacteria resistant it becomes and I think it affects the entire system.

I would like to laser off all the freckles too. Most importantly I would like lasers on my scalp - one of the kinds that works below the surface.

My hair is getting more horrific every day. Now I try to plaster it all back in solid Aquanet. It doesn't even try to hide that it moves anymore. I am just not sure if the worms are on the exterior of the hair shaft, eating the middle out, or actually growing FROM the scalp like a faux-hair. Crazy as it sounds it looks like the third might be true in at least some of the cases. I'm going to try putting some under the microscope soon although I do not expect to see anything.

Fracty -
I wsn't referring to the "freckles", but to the tiny white spots. I wouldn't even bother asking about the fake freckles - I know what the answers would be.
I've had those white spots for a long time, but they were not as well defined as this new crop that started appearing just a few months ago. They are much smaller and brighter white. And they appeared on parts of my arms that have not seen the sun in a long time (he attributed them to sun exposure).
I was kidding about being satisfied with his assessment. I was just curious about whether he would see anything unusual, but I didn't want to say anything that would raise any thoughts that I might be delusional.

Hi Everyone!
Posey, i don't think you should do this it could cause more damage rather than help you.they would have to do your entire scalp and body.then you would be completely bald and you won't be too happy when we overcome this crap! lol no seriously it obviously is just my personal opinion and i think you will just end up spending a small fortune and suffer even more pain in doing this.
I do understand your theory but unless you are going to kill every single hair follicle on your body(ouch!) then i think that could possibly help
xo

Default My Appointment

Yes, you are right Robin. I was kinda hoping I might get some kind of verification which I could then show to a Derm or whatever kind of Doc this would need.

It didn't work that way. I was up front and honest. She didn't treat me as if I were some loonie but did tell me that they don't deal with this type issue, meaning fungal infections. I didn't think of it at the time, but I wish I would have asked about the removal of facial hair.

She did confirm she could see the film on my head, especially since I have my head shaved. But then again, who knows what she may have said to the receptionist after I was gone, i.e. "boy is she a wacko".

posey

I would have replied soone but lost connection on my laptop until an hour ago.
