| Environmental Fibers Are- Radioactive- the white 'floaters' that are all over- everywhere I honestly thought that the little white fibers that we all find everywhere in our environment were fungal in nature. Now- it seems certain that they are Radioactive- or rather have a Radioactive element and the source could be either the remediation processes in the area of Radioactive materials or PCB's or both. To confirm that some scientists and doctors are aware of the Radioactive element as relates to illness: Increased oxidative stress suggested by low serum ...[Int J Cardiol. 2008] - PubMed Result Tags: Int J Cardiol Posted in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome | No Comments » Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 Post-radiation syndrome as a NO/ONOO(-) cycle, chronic fatigue syndrome-like disease Pall ML. School of Molecular Biosciences, Washington State University, Pullman, WA 99164-4234, USA. Med Hypotheses. 2008 Jul 28. Post-radiation syndrome is proposed to be chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) or a chronic fatigue syndrome-like illness, initiated by exposure to ionizing radiation. ** The experts are stating that Chronic Fatigue Syndrome- and Post Radiation Syndrome are one and the same. That is the proposed theory. We need to look closely at the Symptoms of both to see that is a fact. More on the symptoms and comparisons later. First - let's take a look at recent and not so recent events related to Radioactive substances. Last edited by Venetia; June 29th, 2009 at 10:00 AM. |

| Taking a look at one area- one state: New York Riverkeeper: Email - February E-Letter from Riverkeeper New Leak Containing Tritium Found at Indian Point Fair use Excerpt: On Sunday February 15, 2009, a worker at Indian Point, who inadvertently found himself standing in a puddle of water, discovered a pipe leaking several feet underground. The pipe had been leaking water contaminated with detectible levels of tritium at a rate of approximately 18 gallons per minute for more than five days. As a result, more than 100,000 gallons of contaminated water where discharged from the plant into the Hudson River. Indian Point's ability to prevent, or even detect, such apparent and destructive plant deterioration, is a key concern Riverkeeper has raised in the license renewal proceeding relating to the plant’s aging infrastructure. end What is Tritium? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tritium- Tritium - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Excerpt: Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen. The nucleus of tritium contains one proton and two neutrons, whereas the nucleus of protium contains one proton and no neutrons. end excerpt ** What is the source of the Tritium? |

| Looking at the Indian Point area- per the above - turns out there is a Nuclear Power Plant nearby. Indian Point Energy Center - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Fair use Excerpts: Indian Point Energy Center (IPEC) is a three-unit nuclear power plant station located in Buchanan, New York just south of Peekskill. It sits on the east bank of the Hudson River, 24 miles north of New York City, New York. The plant is owned and operated by Entergy Nuclear Northeast, a subsidiary of Entergy Corporation and includes two operating Westinghouse pressurized water reactors - Indian Point 2 and Indian Point 3. It also contains the permanently shut down Indian Point Unit 1 reactor.[1] Total employment at the site is 1,683. [2] Excerpt: Public health concerns about the plant have been raised by activists, specifically in terms of radioactive contamination. On February 15, 2000, the Indian Point II power plant vented a small amount of radioactive steam when an aging steam generator ruptured. The NRC initially reported that no radioactive material was released, but later changed their report to say that there was a leak, but not of a sufficient amount to threaten public safety.[15][16] end excerpt Excerpt: On June 5, 1970, Unit 1 had a major plumbing problem which required the use of 700 men (for a few minutes each) over a 7 month period to weld in the radioactive area.[citation needed] On March 8, 1972, pressures in the primary cooling circuit increased by 30%. Water had to be pumped out of unit 1 into the Hudson River, subsequently killing 150,000 fish.[citation needed] end excerpt The Hudson River- I recall reading that Derek Lovley 'discovered' Geobacter in the Potomac. Wonder if that was being used for Radiation Remediation? Geobacter eats metal, if I'm remembering correctly? Bacterial Electricity Generation and Uranium Cleanup Excerpt: The authors conclude that Geobacter 'clearly has potential for bioremediation of radioactive metals and electricity generation.' end Excerpt: TIGR's collaborator on the project was Derek Lovley, a professor of microbiology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, who discovered the Geobacter family of bacteria and has led projects to assess their biology and their potential for bioremediation. The first Geobacter species to be discovered, G. metallireducens, was isolated from Potomac River sediments in 1987. G. sulfurreducens was isolated later from a soil sample in Oklahoma that was contaminated by hydrocarbons. end excerpt |

| what else is happening in the Hudson River? Effect of PCB’s on New York City’s Reservoirs Effect of PCB’s on New York City’s Watersheds Fair use Excerpt: Besides the direct movement of PCB’s through the Hudson River, another mode of transfer that needs to be considered is through the air. The ecological impact of airborne PCBs on the New York City watershed that the river emits into the air – which in 1997 amounted to about two-thirds of the PCBs dissolved in the river. Results also show that the airborne PCBs that have been deposited on the watershed, chiefly the more highly chlorinated (and generally more toxic) congeners, tend to accumulate there in vegetation, soil and reservoir sediments. In warm summer temperatures the accumulated PCBs vaporize; re-emitted into the air, they give rise to the unusually high airborne PCB concentration that have been measured at Frost Valley in the Neversink watershed: 1740 picograms per cubic meter. end excerpt ![]() |

| The Geobacter that was discovered in the Potomac River: (Seems they have been using Geobacter for some time to negate the effects or neutralize the Radioactive particles in the rivers) Myke's Weblog: Science According to Space.com, what Rittmann proposes to do is to harness bacteria -- specifically, a member of the Geobacteraceae family that feeds on, and can decompose, organic material. Geobacter microbes were first discovered in the muck of the Potomac River in 1987; they like to live in places where there's no oxygen and plenty of iron. They also have the unexpected ability to move electrons into metal. That means that under the right conditions, Geobacter microbes can both process waste and generate electricity. *** Let's say, for sake of argument, that there are PCB's in the Hudson and the Potomac rivers along with the Radioactive Isotopes and the Geobacter.... The PCB's (plastic-like) may flake- or become fiber-like when exposed to Radioactive substances? Or maybe it's the metal eating/electric inducing Geobacter that causes the PCB to become airborn? Skin Absorption and Damage from PCBs Skin Absorption and Damage from PCBs Back to Skin Absorption and Damage from PCBs Table of Contents Other PCB Contamination Sites with Skin Contact Health Risks The following 31 studies involve PCB contamination sites around the U.S. where skin contact is considered a potential human health risk. Hudson River, New York Anonymous. Health Assessment for Hudson River PCB (Polychlorinated Biphenyl) NPL (National Priorities List) Site, State of New York, Region 2. CERCLIS No. NYD980763841. Govt Reports Announcements & Index (GRA&I), Issue 06, 1990. Final report. Author Address: Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, Atlanta, GA. * dermal contact with PCB-contaminated sediment is a potential concern to human health. Hudson River PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls) is a National Priorities List site located in the State of New York. Because of the past disposal of PCBs in the Hudson River, surface water, sediment, and fish from the Upper and Lower Hudson River are contaminated with elevated concentrations of PCBs. The site is of potential public health concern because of the risk to human health resulting from possible exposure to hazardous substances at concentrations that may result in adverse health effects. Human exposure to PCB-contaminated fish or other consumable aquatic organisms from the Hudson River may occur and/or may be occurring via oral exposure (ingestion). Possible inhalation of volatilized PCBs, airborne PCB-contaminated dusts, as well as dermal contact with PCB-contaminated sediment are also of potential concern to human health. New Bedford, Massachusetts Anonymous. Public Health Assessment for New Bedford Site, New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts, Region 1. CERCLIS No. MAD980731335. Govt Reports Announcements & Index (GRA&I), Issue 15, 1995 Author Address: Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health, Boston. Div. of Environmental Health Assessment. Final rept. Sponsored by Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, Atlanta, GA. * human health is at risk due to ongoing exposure to PCBs via dermal contact with PCB-contaminated sediments Harris County, Texas Anonymous. Health Assessment for Industrial Transformer NPL (National Priorities List) Site, Houston, Harris County, Texas, Region 6. Govt Reports Announcements & Index (GRA&I), Issue 02, 1990 Author Address: Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, Atlanta, GA. * potential adverse health effects may result from exposure via dermal contact to PCB-contaminated surface soil The Industrial Transformer site is a National Priorities List site located in Houston, Texas. On-site soils are contaminated primarily with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and trichloroethylene (TCE). Also on-site ground water is contaminated with TCE. There are approximately 2000 residents within an approximate one-mile radius of the site. Potential adverse health effects may result from exposure via ingestion, inhalation and dermal contact to PCB-contaminated surface soil by on-site receptors (e.g., remedial workers, children). The primary public health concern for off-site receptors is potential exposure to TCE-contaminated ground water via ingestion and dermal contact. Inhalation of TCE vapors by workers exposed to TCE-contaminated ground water from industrial wells is an additional exposure route of concern. No follow-up health study is indicated at this time. Final rept. Detroit, Michigan Anonymous. Superfund Record of Decision Amendment (EPA Region 5): Carter Industrials Site, Detroit, MI., February 28, 1995. Govt Reports Announcements & Index (GRA&I), Issue 09, 1996. Author Address: Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, DC. Office of Emergency and Remedial Response. * dermal contact with contaminated materials is considered a "principal threat" This decision document changes a decision made on September 18, 1991 in which the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) chose low-temperature thermal desorption as the remedy for PCB contamination at the Carter Industrials Site in Detroit, Michigan. U.S. EPA is hereby amending the 1991 Record of Decision (PB92-964126) to select off-site disposal as the remedy. This response action addresses remediation of PCB-contaminated soil, debris, and buildings at the Carter Industrials Site. The principal threats posed by conditions at the Site include inhalation of volatilized PCBs and fugitive dust, and dermal contact with contaminated materials. The amended remedy will eliminate these threats. See also PB92-964126. Read more at the above link- 31 reports - numerous states: |

Non-carbon copying paper, according to the study, could not be removed with soap and water hand cleaning. Only about 1/3 was removed with a soap and water wash. I learned that these PCBs are rapidly and excessively abosorbed through the skin and that highter chlorinated RCBs are absorbed more slowly into the body but stay and accumulate. (think bleached paper along with the carbonless- PCBs in the paper) So in addition to inhalation of the airborn PCB's- I was exposed at work. Carbonless paper. In Study 27, I learned that PCBs and HCBs can penetrate the skin easily when applied as a solid or aqueous paste or suspension- or when dissolved in ethanol. I can see a potention for more damage due to the fact that I paint a lot. Then too, there is the process of Acetaldehyde, which is the first metabolite of ethanol, and that process factors heavily in our daily life. These various contaminants are working together or enabling the PCBs, Dioxin and pesticides to posion us. More on Acetaldehyde later- the Acetaldehyde is KEY EVIDENCE OF ACETALDEHYDE-PROTEIN ADDUCT FORMATION IN RAT BRAIN AFTER LIFELONG CONSUMPTION OF ETHANOL -- Rintala et al. 35 (5): 458 -- Alcohol and Alcoholism |

| Could this possibly have any significance? My son and I were chatting one day about all the lines of communication we must walk through everyday and what it would look like as a picture. We figured what the whole world was saying as well as pictures being sent were passing by us and most we were walking or driving through.. We joked that we couldn't see them because they all traveled so fast.. I mean, how do emails get to the other side of the world in a split second- Oh excuse me, I mean "nano second". With all the capabilities of the "way too fast tech movement" now days, either legally or illegally, such as software programs made to use while driving by stores to scan them for customers credit card and checking account #'s that have been used so far for that day, doesn't all this stuff transmit something on our atmosphere to accomplish its goals? Tech. has all moved too fast and I think the world is going to be in for a very very rude and maybe brutal wake up call. They are messin' with way too much; mixing different mammal DNA, screwin' up food, etc. Well I don't have to explain, you all know what I mean. The world today is what I used to watch as a kid, on a black and white tv on Saturday night when we got to stay up late when Mom and Dad were gone. posey Adverse Health Effects from the Operation of Digital Broadcast Television Stations (DVB‐T) Last edited by posey; June 27th, 2009 at 03:46 PM.
