| No biggie, but I was just curious about what time of year it was (for those of us who have changing seasons...and if you have summer or winter, etc. predominant climate with mosquitos) that you first noticed symptoms. I don't think I'll learn anything from it, but if you don't mind, I'll start a poll? Our new member Gigi triggered a thought about the mosquito connection to passing the pathogen from the water to us. Mold of course could be the culprit somehow on its own, but that would be independent of mosquitos in the winter and late fall. Then possibly there could be that connection of the mosquito (from the mice, animal etc.host) having the fungus. Oh, I don't know what I'm saying anymore. Does this sound crazy? Well I'm putting it out there anyway and maybe someone else could make sense of my thoughts. Kritts |

| As usual, I started a poll without thinking it entirely through. What else is new? I could have just asked if it was mosquito season when you first started having symptoms. But that would have been too easy. Oh well...maybe something interesting will come from this anyway.Kritts |

| Hi Krittsi, well, in my case my symptoms on my head like itching and finding little flies in my hair started in May after having a heavy flu. The symptoms decreased after using lice shampoo (I thought it was that) and were better until August. I had an outbreak of Herpes Zoster an the right side of my chest...very painfull... About 2 weeks later, after being on anti viral meds...Morgs symptoms started again...but this time very intense...That was the time the 'creepy crawing' feelings on top of my head..and the lesions on head..started too. So..I'm wondering if Morgellons Disease could also have something to do with damaged nerves?...hmmm.... It's both May and August for me...or only August? What would you say? | Kritts, I think you're on a good track. The insect vector - being in contact with water is suspect too. I was in Florida getting bit by Amazon Mosquitos right before I got evident signs... I see you have one of each season - so far. I'm thinking that the insect vector infection could happen during insect season and that when Morgellons becomes evident depends on the health of the person infected? That there is a incubation period. As an example: That a mosquito could have bitten someone in the Summer 1997 and we didn't show evident signs until Winter of 1998 because our immune system fought it off that long. The same mosquito bit someone else, at the same time - they showed signs in the Spring of 1998 because they weren't as healthy. As an example, An insect vector flowchat might look like this?: original chemical/contaminate/product to --> man, man thru waste/sewage into --> water, water contact with --> insect, insect biting --> man Last edited by -----------; June 14th, 2009 at 06:56 AM. |

| Yeah....seasons are too short, Kam. I TOLD you I usually post before thinking things through ;-) But it's a start, right? So, maybe we can start a poll about being bitten by mosquitos or other vectors? mosquitos, spiders, ticks, etc. Probably not worth the time, though. No way to know how long someone would manifest symptoms after being bitten. However, Lyme can begin manifesting shortly after being bitten......so it's believed at this time. We all know that can change, right? Oh well........... Kritts |

| Do we know the approximate number of Morgies out here that also have Lymes? I got the Eliza test recently (which I think is not the best one) and it said I had 0.12 antibodies. Does anyone know what that means? Is that positive or negative - or just a little bit? The doctor never did comment. The paperwork says: PROCEDURE - Lyme Antibody, RESULT - 0.12, UNITS - Liv (liver?), REF RANGE - 0.00 - 1.20 REFERENCE INTERVAL Borrelia Borgdorfei - b.s. Total by ELISA 0.99 LIV or less Negative Antibody to Borrelia 1.00 - 1.20 Equivocal Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful 1.21 LIV or greater - Positive Probable presence.... The printout was so light I could hardly read it - so, that's a Negative. Is this the test that doesn't report correctly, this one indicates a Negative? I can't ever remember a tick biting me or one latching on in many recent years, maybe as a child? - I know this isn't a requirement, just stating. I had quite a few Florida Amazon Mosquito bites, tho' and probably a biting fly bite from Florida, too. Last edited by -----------; June 14th, 2009 at 12:00 PM. |

I remember you asked about this earlier and I have been intending to look up all about the antibody numerical implications. I intend to become a semi-expert on Lyme disease. Can't wait around forever for the doctors to get their heads out of their arses, can we? And when you speak to the doctor in charge of the lab headquarters in a particular State, and she doesn't even know that the technical term for Lyme is Borrellia bergdorferi, nor do a few other doctors I spoke to.......and this State being number 2 among Lyme infested ticks and other vectors.....we are in deep kaka unless we research on our own. xoKritts |

| Oops! I misspelled it, needed my glasses on! Oh well... if the doctors can't get it right... Hey Kritts... mine first became evident in the winter but exploded in the summer. ?? It took approx. 6 months for it to reveal itself for what it really is. |
