So, Kam...that would mean you probably received the vector gift in outdoor insect season, yes?

Let's try to find the connection between the affected water and the vectors it may have breeded which had our names on them.

grrrr

I was in the caribbean at the end of Jan where I got bitten by mosquitos quite a few times. I am not sure what season you would call that - it's always mosquito season in the tropics. I always wondered if this had something to do with why my systematic yeast infection went all out of control. But, for the two months after my vacation, I would have expected some signs to show then - my immune system was totally devastated by the antibiotics I took, and the yeast had taken over my body just about everywhere.

I was just starting to feel so much better and discovered the specks and small black threads in my skin two days ago. I do recall getting bit by a mean black fly a week ago as well, so I don't know!

The verdict is still out on me, I guess. I don't know if what I have is a lesion or not and I only saw a few specks today when I massaged my arms. Not the multitude I saw yesterday. I suppose, though, that this could be an early phase. I could have been suppressing it because I was following an anti-candida diet, building my immune system, and already taking antifungals for the last few months. I am just not sure!

That's okay, Gigi....
none of us are sure. And what's more...we shouldn't HAVE to deal with candida, you know?

Our immune system, our flora, our bodies in general should not have to be dealing with this chit. But we are and we are going to find out why.

Hey-

Another thought that just hit me.

I may have contracted this from my husband!
My husband is not showing any signs, but I recall he got a really really nasty bite on his arm over a year or so ago - we thought it was a spider, but never saw the thing. He got really ill - he went to the doc to get some antibiotics. It wasn't enough, but the second round of antibiotics seemed to fix the problem. We've been trying for a baby for the last year, so it's possible if he contracted something, I could have gotten it this way...

or maybe I have Lyme's and this is how I contracted it.. not sure.. I guess we will never know for sure... I will need to find out what pathogens I might be carrying....

I'm not sure... lol

I answered 'winter' on your poll, January 08. I first had symptoms right after being in Florida in December 07. I was in the woods with a new golf cart, riding the trails, I didn't see any ticks on me afterwards, but... could have been?, I only got under the trees one time - and then went to Disneyland immediately after that - where they blow that big puff of air on ya' in "A Bug's Life"...

It was hot as heck! Skeetters were still out, I'm sure!
