I've mentioned before how I have been using the acne med 2% salicylate acid on my face and head and how it removes film and fibers. I checked out wart remover at the stores and some have 17% salicylate acid and some have 40%. I bought the 17% yesterday and am very carefully trying it spotty, such as thicker places of plaque or biofilm, whatever this is, as well as applying to a small area of the "things" growing from my shaved head. It makes it easier to test with head shaved. I will let you know how it goes. I'm not going to just slap it on. I'm rather testing with it. posey

Posey, this is so weird. I just this morning looked up Aldara which is a prescription cream a friend's daughter is taking for her acne. I was surprised to find it is for genital warts as well. Fungus, fungus, fungus. It's ALLLLLLLL fungus! The tube costs $75 !!!! for a small one....money, money, money. It's ALLLLLLLL money. Of course she had insurance.....control, control, control. It's ALLLLLLL about control. Kritts

Hey Paul, Yes it is the same only there are so many labels on the same thing with a different molecule or named-purpose on the market, that is my point. I wish I could find the post I made from a while back after looking up the active ingredient in something. I googled it and found like, a zillion products made from the same ingredient for different purposes. Why is that? To patent and sell the product. God forbid the average person would be able to buy one stop shopping products. We know about baking soda, epsom salts, etc. but that's because we research. People in general who think the doctor is God will use their insurance company to purchase a $75 tube of something they can get over the counter by another name. Not to mention that the basic ingredient (as you'll see below) is based on a natural resource. So many medicines are based on the bark of a pine tree. I realize of course that we are not native American Indians now and don't know what to use to heal ourselves and the products will work and it's the all-American way...so it serves a purpose. But now that they are attempting to eliminate selling natural products and vitamins without a doctor's prescription....that takes away our rights to self help and natural remedies. Salicylic acid — An anti-inflammatory and keratolytic agent Salicylic acid is FDA-approved for the treatment of psoriasis. Salicylic acid and acetylsalicylic acid (commonly known as aspirin) are derived from salicin, originally extracted from the bark of the white willow (Salix alba) tree. It is a common and effective treatment for a wide variety of skin problems including acne, dandruff, psoriasis, seborrhea dermatitis, calluses, corns, and warts. I know, I know....Bi*ch, Bi*ch, Bi*ch Kritts xoxo Last edited by Kritters; May 28th, 2009 at 06:51 PM.

Hey check this out also: DermaHarmony ingredients — Pyrithione zinc – An antimicrobial agent Pyrithione zinc also has both antifungal and antibacterial properties, which may help reduce inflammation on the skin and provide added relief for psoriasis sufferers. We now know from some of our posters how crucial zinc and magnesium are to health and our situation in particular..... This site doesn't seem half bad. I like it when they give the natural history of a medication. Kritts Last edited by Kritters; May 28th, 2009 at 09:17 PM.

These work but usually take days to weeks without missing a dose as well as those listed through others above, if you miss a day or an application it can cause breakouts to become worse around those areas. SO if you use make sure to not miss each dose. Also, once you stop they can become worse. APPLICATIONS: Make sure you use a tool to apply and gently rub in do not take a huge gob and slather all over skin as this spreads the bacteria/fungus to other parts of the body allowing it to spread. Wash hands after each area application if you use your hands. Try and keep your nails away from applications as this is a huge fungi hang out. Be prepared for it to get worse before it gets better, usually zits appear a month after the infection was caught in the skin cell, it takes time to infect and grow in the cells then appearing on the skin or under the skin as a large cyst. You can also ask for 2 different types of gels/creams so that you switch back and forth with each application, this way the fungi do not get immune to the topicals. These are just a few things that I have encountered considering that I have been on every topical out there. GOOD LUCK!!! I hope it works. Xoxo, Meg

Benzoyl Peroxide will bleach your clothes and the SA won't. The SA works better for me but I have ( as I'm sure we all do) a store shelf of things just so "it" won't get used to one of them. I found Dermarest Psoriasis Meicated Moisturizer which has 2 % salicylate acid in it also. However, it also has moisturizers and is not so drying. The red bumps on my arm have cleared. I also use it for hand cream because my hands are also like one big spider web of this. Menards has a moisturizer I found (really cheap $3 plus cents) and due to always checking out new products I bought it at that price. Told my husband to get another one. It is called St. Ives Swiss Formula Maximum Moisture Mineral Therapy. The ingred. list is too long for this decrepid typist to put down but it help soften and bring "things" out. Another inexpensive product is Walmart's generic version (Equate) of Neutrogena's Health Skin. I put this on today and "it/they" are irritated and appearing on my skin. This stuff must really penetrate skin because I can always taste it when I put it on my face. Yuck, but if it helps it's a yuck!!I showered last night with Clean & Clear Oil-Free Continuous Control Acne Wash. Will never do that at night again. I have to believe it is continuous control because I was up till 1A from movement. I found a scrub at Target yesterday with DE in it. I have to find it though and then I will post what it is. I bought some clothes fo summer so I can get started wasing them 20 + times before I wear them. God bless, posey Grapefruit Seed Extract on my arms worked wonders also. But I have to be careful on face. OUCH! Last edited by posey; May 29th, 2009 at 03:53 PM. Reason: addition
