| Hello: I've just found this site and others and feel my 81yo grandmother is suffering with Megellon's disease. She's depressed, tired and irritable due to her condition and can't find a doctor who takes her seriously. They think she's crazy and I need to assist her in getting help. She's in Naples, Florida and we're willing to travel to Tampa or so if we can find someone to begin her on a path of wellness. I'm going to visit her in mid February and would like to take her to some appointments to get the ball rolling so she can feel vindicated that she's not crazy and there are others out there with the same or similar conditions. She doesn't have a computer, so I can't send her quick links or info. Please help if you know of any doctors or have advice.. Thanks, Alicia in California |

| I 'm sorry about your Mum Alicia. Thats so sad. I will send you a short list we have of some Lyme Disease MD s if you send me your e-mail address in a PM . It is not very up to date and a few may be avoiding Morgellons now so you will have to do some research. Maybe a California member will send you details of someone they have found helpful. | Alicia - Gosh, I am so sorry!! How difficult this must be for someone who may not be able to keep up with things, no computer, etc. There is a doctor in Naples, but he is VERY EXPENSIVE and cash only (well, maybe credit cards). I also don't know if he's really helped anyone...I have spoken to people he has NOT helped, but that doesn't mean that there aren't those that have been helped. If you go to the thread on the Tampa Bay Support group meeting, see if you will be visiting when the next group meets, and you can bring her to it and talk to others about who they see, etc. PM me privately if you'd like. | Sadsack, I had found this information while searching for a doctor in the southeastern United States. I am wondering if this is the doc you were speaking of? If not, since he has on his web-page that he treats patients with Morgellon's Disease, is he involved with the meetings that you all are having in Tampa? I am considering making an appointment with this doctor, and trying to line it up with the next meeting in February. Anyway, this is a link to the doctor I am talking about, it's a pdf file, but has lots of information about him. http://lymerick.net/Schaller-about-BRT.pdf. Niecy ![]()

| Niecy - Yes, he is the one in Naples. But, as I said, he is VERY EXPENSIVE and doesn't take insurance. Have you checked into Dr. Kolb in GA (since you have to travel, anyway)? No, he is not involved with that meeting. The one doctor who is always there is Dr. Reed, but there have been and will be other ones. That would be SO COOL if you came to the meeting!!! Not sure how long a drive it is to Atlanta, but you could fly into Tampa on Sunday, drive to Atlanta, see Dr. Kolb on Monday, then fly out of Atlanta! SS |

| Sadly acukjati your story is a typical one, and will be until we get some kind of formal acknowledgment form the CDC. At the moment, most doctors still will not come out of “hiding” because of fear of repercussions from colleges and the medical community. I will see what I can find for you though. |
