I was listening to Dr. Staninger's interview with Dr. Kolb, and she said that many/most people with Morgies have big bellies, looking like they may be 3 or 4 months pregnant. Her explanation was that "we" have "carbohydrate metabolism" problems. Of course, I don't really get that - is she referring to the "brown fat" deep inside???
Do other people relate to this?
Now, if you are a guy, I guess you'll have to come up with another analogy besides pregnancy!!!
She also talked about drooling. She said that many of us drool, especially at night, and sometimes choke on our own saliva. I had that symptoms several years before my "full blown" Morgellons. Any else??

I have put on over a stone due to drinking a minimum of 4 litres of Diamond White a day too, if that is any consolation, SS. It seems to go to my face first which really pisses me off. I need to start running again. Or better still stop boozing. And a low carb, high proten diet.

This issue isn't weight gain, per se, but distribution (belly). And it is something that happens after Morgellons takes hold. I used to teach fitness and aerobics (sideline) and in my 40's had the belly of a fit teenager. Once Morgellons crept in, my body started changing. Last month I met another Morgie at that Tampa Bay meeting, and she was even more of a fitness guru (showed her fitness video at the meeting), and she had the same experience. She is NOT fat, but has developed belly fat. Her body shape changed as well.

I stop eating for days sometimes Sadsack.It all depends on if I am taking supplements or not.
My mum callls round with her home made soup cause she thinks I look too skinny .
But I feel like buddah expecting twins.
Remember the bit in Alien where that thing breaks out of John Hurts stomach ?
I'm expecting that to happen to me anyday now .
I heard Morgellons literally turns us into lard. Nancy mentioned that to me as well.
I 've lots to look forward to .

Hey SS....

I have fat on my stomach for the first time EVER since having children (and that was many adipose brown cell moons ago) I have never gained weight in my stomach no matter what.

One person told me fat in the stomach that goes around to the sides is a sign of possible diabetes onset.

I don't drink enough to have that chic alcohol potbelly pig look (although I joke about my obsession) plus I work out and drink tons of water. In that case with too much alcohol some people have, I think the liver is involved.

According to my Bioset practitioner (who told me about the stomach fat possibly being diabetes for those who have it) food allergies, vitamin allergies... all kinds of allergies can contribute.

Some people are built that way. Women who are short wasted with long legs and narrow hips gain weight in stomachs like men do. I tend to think that's a hormonal difference too.

One thing is for certain. Weight gain or loss in our situation is because these bastard creatures are screwing with our systems. We can't afford to stray off of the straight and narrow of eating healthfully and staying off simple carbs.

That further confirms this "phenomenon". Two friends of mine have developed very large bellies though neither has gained weight elsewhere. They both have mild Morgellons symptoms, and have had for years. (both males). And they look like they are about to explode the alien!

Some people lose weight with this and others gain. I think it definitely effects the thyroid.

Does that suck, or what? Just what women need.....forget, "honey, does my butt look fat".... now it's "honey....which looks fatter.... my butt or my stomach?"
