Paul,
Hey! I hope you're doing well!

Facial twitches are neurological. I'm sure we all may have some of those at some time. Goes with the turf. Are yours continual?

When you say facial twitching do you mean it feels like it is twitching?
Symptoms of mine include the feeling of a 'cobweb' over my eye, cheek and forehead. I find this really annoying and sometimes it feels like 'it' is sucking the lifeforce out of me. I also feel tiny things flying into my eyes and eyelashes.

This disease is insane, it is no wonder I am drinking so much. What did we all do to deserve this?

Didn't someone earlier ask about 'buzzing'?

I experienced buzzing on one of my fingers this morning.

I almost answered it. Hello? have you dialed my finger this morning? I had it on buzz so as not to awaken the neighbors!

Cheers Mat! It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Actually that's one major cause, they can actually occur for many reasons. Paddel let me ask you question, have you been consuming lots of stimulants lately? How are your potassium levels? They can all cause facial twitches when out of wak, among other things.

Right Franky...I should have been more precise in what I meant. Stimulants, potassium levels etc. ultimately affect the neurological system. So can the bio-toxins the critters give off.

Bells Palsy is one symptom which CAN be indicative of Lyme.

Default Bell's Palsy

Bell's Palsy has also been connected to Herpes Simplex 1 and some other herpes type viruses (lyme is also implicated in some of these infections as mentioned by Kritts). This article has a pretty good discussion of the various possible causes of Bell's Palsy:

Bell's Palsy InfoSite & Forums - Causes of Bells Palsy / Facial Paralysis

I am particularly interested in the viral connection to morgellons symptoms in some patients, as my doctor diagnosed in me a reactivated herpes simplex 1 (cold sores, fever blisters) virus and herpes virus 6 (roseola) which appoximately 95% of the population is exposed to in early infancy. Evidently, according to this doctor who has written a book on parasite cases he has treated, treating any major background infections (lyme, viral, fungal, bacterial), of whatever type the patient has, will help the body to get rid of parasite infections. Also if the patient is allergic it seems that using antihistamines may help the adverse symptoms which arise as the parasites and/or other germs die off. In my case he told me to take one benadryl at bedtime. I do this unless my nose gets too stopped up from the benadryl after several days use. Personally I like taking breaks from this drug as it dries up good body fluids as well as quelling allergic reactions to the parasite or germ proteins. Still when I feel really bad I know to take a benadryl at bedtime for a few days (it causes drowsiness so best used then).

TC,
Very interesting connection. I believe most of us have herpes in one form or another....and this co-infection also has something to do with Morgellons taking hold.

At times, I really wonder if Morgellons isn't just a very odd hard to control SYMPTOM of Lyme.

Or

Maybe a new strain of Lyme. Medical professionals don't want to treat or acknowlege lyme either. Very very similar the way both Lyme and Morgellons are understood by the medical professionals. Lyme MD's seems
to be the ONLY ones who have any clue on treating morgellons.

Muscle twitching, facial twitching is most definately a Lyme symptom.
