In-Depth Morgellons Questionnaire

The questionnaires that I've seen so far have been very limited. You can RE-POST this questionnaire as many times as you care to edit it.

This is an in-depth, close look at Morgellons, questionnaire. I have made this questionnaire inter-active - in that we ALL get to participate with the questions and we are using a "chain" as the premise on which data is being collected.

I have started with approximately 50 questions. I assume that the questionnaire will or should get larger with time. If you have completed this questionnaire in the beginning - come back at a later time and re-post your answers again - with the newly added questions.

Hopefully, someone will be able to use this 'tool' to draw some conclusions or gather information that might be helpful to them.

14. Have you been around any kind of seeds for planting, agro-business, with any regularity? Had you planted grass seeds, did you handle the seeds during the planting - prior to onset?

15. Have you used or been around weed killers, pesticides, chemicals, breathing chemicals, or any kind of solvents, paints, etc.

16. Did you powerwash or splash any mold onto your body or possibly your head like that might be on a fence or outside, even months, prior to onset?

19. Have you had an area of the body that at one time had a lot of lesions and is now cleared up? What do you feel that you did that help dramatically - more than anything else?

1. Describe you lesions or sores. What have you found that is a good treatment to HEAL your sores? White circles as housing, very red in color around site, seem to emit grainy, sandy particles that whereever these particles land - they create another sore. I haven't found much yet that heals these sores completely, without severely scaring the body.

Have you noticed any 'foreign' objects in your bath water? etc.? Yes, I have noticed at least 6 - 10 different objects associated with this disease, all varying in sizes, shapes and characteristics.

8. Do you feel that your condition is bacterial, viral, or fungal, or a combination? It feels like all of the above.

9. If you have your blood work numbers handy - list the ones, and their numbers that are out of the 'normal' ranges?

10. Have you come into contact with any stagnant water, standing water, that might have gotten onto your skin, such as a pond or a hot water heater that may have been in poor or non-working condition prior to the onset? Yes

11. Do you own a swimming pool or had access to or used one prior to onset? Was/has it been kept in good maintenance, with the chemicals at the proper balances at all times? Are there pine trees that loom over, near or around this pool, or that 'spit' their pollen and droppings into this pool or pond? Yes, I own a swimming pool that was 'let go' due to a ripped liner. There have always been pine trees nearby, in which, I had to pick pine debris out of my pool when it was in operation.

Do you have frogs nearby, had a mouse issue prior to onset with 'droppings', or any other unusual animals, non-traditional pets, that you possibly could have come into contact with prior to onset? Yes, frogs invariably got into the swimming pool to spond. I had a mice issue right before symptoms appeared.

13. The drainage system in the city that you contracted this disorder, is it 'natural' or concrete pipes, in good repair, any comments? Yes, a natural grassy, ditch drainage system.

14. Have you been around any kind of seeds for planting, agro-business, with any regularity? Had you planted grass seeds, did you handle the seeds during the planting - prior to onset? Yes, I have handled lots of grass seed.

15. Have you used or been around weed killers, pesticides, chemicals, breathing chemicals, or any kind of solvents, paints, etc. Yes, I worked on a golf course.

16. Did you powerwash or splash any mold onto your body or possibly your head like that might be on a fence or outside, even months, prior to onset? Yes, the powerwasher bleach attachment was not working, the fungus from the fence splattered onto me during powerwashing a fence in the Florida gulf region.

17. Where was your initial outbreak area of your body? The crown of my head.

18. Have you found anything that will repair the scar damage? Have your scars become less noticeable with time? No, and I don't know yet.

Yes, at times, these lesions appear to have tick-like 'critters' attached to skin, and are difficult to pull off the skin. I was in the woods the gulf of Florida prior to my first symptoms.

30. Have you seen the wads of fibers, fibers in any form, coming from or around your lesions or from any part of your body? Have you seen the typical Morgellon "wild" hairs? No noticeable fibers, yes a few 'wild' white hairs.

31. Have you noticed anything unusual about your tap water? Yes, there seems to be some sort of pink chemical or fungus that will grow in my toilet around the top edge where the water level is, if they have not been used but, if the water is left to stand for a short period of time.

32. Were you in or around a mobile home prior to onset?
Yes.

33. Were you in a home that used a septic tank, prior to onset? Yes.

Have you noticed any change in your bowel movements prior to onset, during the beginnings of this disease, have you seen any foreign objects in your stools, been tested for parasites in your stools and the results, any other comments about digestion, etc. Yes, noticed a change. I also noticed an orod change in my urine.

35. Has any of the 'objects' that you have collected from your body - been sent to pathology and what were the results, medicines given, were they effective, etc.? Yes, 3 diff. objects - all found to be 'nothing'...

36. Has anyone found a doctor in their area that is treating this and that you would recommend, who is showing positive results, doctors name, city, phone number if you have it?

While some questions are good, in my opinion too many questions will only serve to befuddle any significant information. It is easier to poll short answers as opposed to entire stories.

My suggestion for the types of questions would be:
1) What significant event occurred right before you noticed the first spot and subsequent spots? [ ]Eating, [ ] working [ ] sleeping
2) Where were you: [ ] at home [ ] at work [ ] other activity_________
3) Were you [ ] inside or [ ] outside

What treatments do you apply for sores:

then list all the suggestions previously submitted with a check box and a category for [ ] other__________

In this way it is clearer. Also, this questionnaire could be utilized by the people registered with Morgellons.org. The more answers, the better the results.

WARNING: This causes PERMANENT scarring. I have found that if you mix hydrogen peroxide and sea salt - you will create a caustic chemical combination that will kill this in the skin. However, do not rub it into the skin (I found this out the hard way.) Just place a cotton ball on the sore and put a bandaid or tape on it to keep the solution wet on the sore as long as possible, and if you keep doing this - you will kill it and a lot of the surrounding area, which "this" seems to affect. But, I have permanent scars from this method.

3. What are you doing for maintenance, that you believe is keeping this disease 'in check' that might help others?

I have tried such a variety of things... but, no one thing seemed to cure this.
Baths instead of showers.

Taking L-Lysine (vitamin/amino acid?) seems to make me feel better and give me more energy (common for viral conditions.)

Putting mayonnaise (and I'm hearing now to add olive oil in with the mayonnaise), left on the head overnight, to smother them, with a plastic shower cap. Also, using a hair dryer while this concoction is on the head, they don't like heat. This has helped.

4. Have you found any sort of effective drugs prescribed by doctors for any of your symptoms, if yes, please describe?

5. Do you suspect that you have transmitted this disease to anyone, if yes - how?

No, I don't, however, I have refrained from close contact with everyone until I know more about this disease. I believe it is possible to transmit this - if the seed-like objects, when shedding from the sores, are in a certain stage in their, what appears to be, some sort of "life cycle".

6. Have you found any doctors that are offering treatment in your area or otherwise? Please list:

Yes. A patent-pending Jelly-Fish Sting Solution with Lidocaine - only compounded by Island Pharmacy, on 1st Street at Tybee Island, Ga, will raise the white 'housings' out of the skin, and heals sores right before your eyes and heals them completely within a few days.

The pharmist/creator will not disclose what's in this formula. They will not mail this, you have to pick it up in person. A 4 oz. bottle is approx. $10, if anyone is in this area, please contact me, I need some desperately. I am in no way affilated with this pharmacy nor this product.

A friend put this solution on me, experimenting, we only had a small amount, but - it worked wonders! Somehow, these sores react the same way that a jelly-fish or man-of-war sting react in the human body.

Based on the information given by the morgellons.org home page first phase findings - and since I was in contact with a hot water heater in which the water had been standing for some time when I took a shower - I believe "this" was contracted in the Florida Gulf region when I took a shower. That somehow, this City's rain/storm water drainage system was inferior (natural grass ditch) and allowed certain pathogens to come into people's home hot water tanks. And, that by most tanks being heated to kill most pathogens - that is why most people did not get sick from this. Also, most people do not allow the water in their tanks to sit very long.

The Permethin cream seemed to kill something or one of them. The antifungal (red) shampoo seemed to help a little bit. The oral permithium tablets seem to help elimiate digestional related problems.

25. Have you heard of or know anyone who has ever been totally cured of this disease other than the "Silver" people?

I have taken approx. 7 bottles of the Nutra-Silver product that claims that this one lady completely cured herself of Morgellons. They have a web page at - nutrasilver.com, in which you can view her testimony. I just completed the 3 day purge.

I have noticed that I feel better after the silver. I had a lot of 'outbreakage' using the silver - which caused it to go other places, by just doing the 'maintenance' dose. I had a lot of white 'larvae-like critters' that popped out of my face creating sores, but nothing like she describes in her video testimony on their web page. (But, it could be because she claims to have had this for 10 years, whereas, I've only had it less than 1 year. Well, obvious signs, who knows how long this could lay dormat in the body without symptoms, or what the gestation period is?)

I believe the silver has killed something, or one or two of the pathogens.

I still have, the black, red, and white, sand-like, seed particles that are coming out of my sores, which, the black particles - have supposedly identified according to the morgellons.org web page as parasitized pine pollen granules - so, I conclude that the Silver does NOT kill this pathogen, based on my experience. It is possible that this lady that testifies that the Nutra-Silver cured her - did not have the supposed "pine pollen granules" as a part of her Morgellons?

26. List any supplements, vitamins, minerals, homeopathic remedies, herbs, un-traditional medicines that you have tried that appear to have help you get better with this disease?

I've found that L-Lysine has help me feel better and gives me more energy. L-Lysine is commonly used for viral conditions, and I also have Hep C, in which my liver numbers have gone considerably higher by putting various 'chemicals' on my head during the onset and maintenance of this disease. I got this recommendation from another person who said it had helped them on another site, and happened to have some, and it appears to help.

28. Do you test positive for Lyme's Disease? Have you noticed a 'tick-like" characteristic to your lesions? Were you in woods prior to the onset of your disease? Were you in any of the "hot-list" places, sandy soil areas, near bodies of water - in the woods prior to the onset?

I don't know yet about my test results. Yes, at times, (depending on where this is - in its "life-cycle") these lesions appear to have redish 'ticks' attached to skin, and are difficult to pull off the skin. I was in the woods the gulf of Florida prior to my first symptoms.

29. Do your lesions/sores itch, typical of Morgellons photographs or different? With what frequency do they itch? If itching is a problem, what have you found that helps eliminate the itching?

Very little itching, barely none at all.

30. Have you seen the wads of fibers, fibers in any form, coming from or around your lesions or from any part of your body? Have you seen the typical Morgellon "wild" hairs?

No noticeable fibers, yes a few 'wild' white hairs.

31. Have you noticed anything unusual about your tap water?

Yes, there seems to be some sort of pink chemical or fungus that will grow in my toilet around the top edge where the water level is, if they have not been used but, if the water is left to stand for a short period of time.

32. Were you in or around a mobile home prior to onset?

Yes.

33. Were you in a home that used a septic tank, prior to onset?

Yes.

34. Have you noticed any change in your bowel movements prior to onset, during the beginnings of this disease, have you seen any foreign objects in your stools, been tested for parasites in your stools and the results, any other comments about digestion, etc.

Yes, noticed a change. More constipated. Very nausous, all the time. I also noticed an odor change in my urine.

35. Has any of the 'objects' that you have collected from your body - been sent to pathology and what were the results, medicines given, were they effective, etc.?

Yes, 3 similiar objects - all found to be 'nothing'...(well, I gave them 'something'... hello?) I believe that whatever the pathogens for Morgellons are - are NOT in the Pathologist's data banks at this time for them to compare Morgellon pathogens to. And, that's why they cannot identify it.

36. Has anyone found a doctor in their area that is treating this and that you would recommend, who is showing positive results, doctors name, city, phone number if you have it?

Dr. Kolb, Atlanta, Ga., I have not contacted or used her yet, I don't know how effective she is.

37. In the areas that you frequented prior to onset - were there a lot of trees or woods in this area? What is the predominate species of trees in this area?

A woods with many pine trees.

38. How has this affected your teeth, mouth, gums, breath?

Teeth are becoming 'bad' quickly. They seem to get a 'film' over them quicker than before. My gums are receeding. Interesting note: my gums started receeding long before I had symptoms, but this could be due to 'old age'? It feels like I have bad breath, even though, I don't know for sure - since I don't have close contact with anyone that way.

39. Did you notice any sore throats during your initial outbreak period, that did not go into the lungs? Did you appear to feel like you were running a fever, did you actually have a fever after taking your temperature? Is your body temperature normal, 98.6, at most times, if not, what do you 'normally' read, and for how long prior to onset did you start noticing this change?

Yes, have felt feverish - running a sub-fever.

40. How many 'stages' have you gone through with this disease?

I am a writer. I have written about the 6 different 'stages' of this disease for, hopefully, some doctor to read to recognize this. I believe there is more than 6 stages, as I am living them.

41. Did you have any 'cracks' in your skin, such as the heels of your feet? Prior to onset, was there a problem area on your body that had a re-occuring sore site, pimples, ingrown hairs, etc. over many years that will not heal and that you might be 'picking at' from time to time?

Yes on bottoms of my feet - heel area.

42. Do you think or feel that this disease has a 'life cycle'? And if you've paid attention to it - what do you think the 'life cycle' is or are?

Personally, I believe there are/were many pathogens involved in my case. I have elminated most of them, however, I also believe that there is a 'systemic' nature to this disease. That, once contracted, this remains in the blood stream and needs to be looked at by scientists that study the blood. My blood work numbers are askew, where they never have been in the past.

Yes, the "white housings/tunnels" areas appear to have some sort of "life-cycle". There are periods of resting and then periods of production in which, it tries to multiply itself, and it goes through this cycle over and over.

43. Have you ever been diagnosed with eczema, prior to onset? Did the prescribed medicines help? If yes, where is this located on your body?

Yes, I have had a patch of eczema in my ear for many years prior to onset of Morgellons. The medicines prescribed only treated the symptoms, which naturally, there is no 'known' cure for eczema, in Western Medicine, they just threat symptoms.

44. During some heavier outbreak stages of this disease and currently - how imporant do you feel hygiene is to keep this under control? Do you think taking a shower is as effective as taking a bath? Do you feel that at some points you should have bathed with more frequently - such as twice a day and that this might have helped? Any comments about bathing that might help others?

I feel that bathing helps over showers. At times, I have had to bathe twice a day to keep this knocked back and to control it better.

One Dermatologist that I saw, said that he had 20 Morgellon patients. I gave this information to a Psychiatrist - which the Psychiatrist seemed shocked at the high number. I think 'delusional parasitosis', which is how this Dermatologist and Psychiatrist were treating me, in the past, has been at lower numbers. From his reaction, I concluded that 20 people in a zip code area is a high number, I could be wrong?

49. Do you feel or believe that you have contracted this from a pet, or given this to your pet?

No. However, I do not have any pets.

50. What significant event occurred right before you noticed the first spot and subsequent spots? Did you notice that you were not feeling well prior to your first visible symptoms?

I had made many trips to the Florida Gulf region. A bad hot water tank was used for shower water. I took a trip to Disneyland in Florida.

Yes. I noticed that I was not feeling well, I expressed to a friend, "that I felt something was wrong with me - but, I couldn't identify what "it" was". This was one month prior to my first visible sore.
