cheers Freyman! I'm hoping it will help direct important research. Like laying sound foundations to build a beautiful big house on.

Hello, it's me, Smileykins, and I'm sorry, I only recently became aware of this trick that TheUnknownCat played on your community back in July.

-- Gee, just since I posted this comment, I've had to edit it, because someone didn't pay attention and totally got the wrong impression of what I was referring to, all because she saw the words, "I just recently learned of this joke" -- damn, lady, I wasn't talking about just recently learning of morgellons disease and saying it was a joke. Get up to speed, here, and pay attention to the topic?

Steve, you said that "near the bottom of the page is an entry by smileykins dated July 19, 2008, 'Sorry for having been so very wrong on all accounts and statements... Morgellons is real very real!'"

That wasn't on blogcritics to begin with. Concerning this demeaning trick done to you by one of your own, TheUnknownCat, it's actually at the bottom of the scienceblogs Aetiology "New Story On Morgellons Disease" blog, and not the site you posted a link to. I'd post the link showing what he did, but the board rules dictated that links can't be posted here until 15 comments have been. I don't intend to post anything other than this one comment to try helping you understand what happened.

At first, when I'd seen what he'd done, I'd thought it was really sort of cute for someone to try impersonating me. I've just become aware of how cruel it was for him take advantage of the morgellons' community's disadvantage, by actually getting his cruel joke pulled over on many of you. I've never understood my "cult following" to begin with, but, not a single one of you is deserving of TheUnknownCat's doing you this way.

On the scienceblogs' Aetiology/Morgellons' blog, usernames are at the bottom of comments, not at the top of them. I'm so sorry for those of you who either didn't look and realize that, or notice anything amiss in the blogcritics link Steve referred you to, or even concern yourselves with anything other than spreading a rumor. If this trick really made anyone happy for awhile, even though I can't see why it would have, well, nevermind, I don't even know what else to add to that thought, because I can't understand the pleasure it would've brought anyone. You shouldn't care what I think about morgellons disease, but I know a lot of you do.

I'll try to help you all understand what happened, though, because I think this was awful for TheUnknownCat to have done you this way, just because he knew he could.

The comment, #212, that he referred to in his post (in the scienceblogs/aetiology blog, at the bottom of the page, impersonating me as saying that I think morgellons is real), is this:
________________________________________

#212 — July 24, 2008 @ 02:46AM — Angela Flynn

(...and, if you merely look, Angela gave her account of morgellons disease.)

If TheUnknownCat, aka Charles Henry, had done things right, he probably meant to refer readers to comment #211, above Angela Flynn's post, which says:

Those comments are from the site you provided a link to, Steve, blogcritics' "Morgellons Disease: A New Illness That Really 'Bugs' Sufferers".

There's more on Morgellons Group's message board, surrounding TheUnknownCat's joke on the morgellons community.

Apparently, Lymebusters message board tried exercising some control over the situation and deleted discussion about this on their site.

I hope this helped straighten out the unfortunate trick TheUnknownCat played on your community, and I hope everyone gets the help they need, soon.

Smileykins

Well I for one could not give a fig what any non sufferer thinks. You see, this 'delusion'will spread and when some non sufferer (at the moment) who gets off on thinking this is a joke finds that they do indeed have it then thats the time I'll be laughing. What goes around comes around.
There are many nice people on this site who will give you people the 'nice talk'-I'm not one of them.

Kritts when I put that on -my thoughts were when I clicked the button that i should have said 'please stick around long enough to meet kritts and I'm really going to enjoy watching her spit the pips out.'
If there is a reply Kritts I'll let you go to it.I'm still getting over the big bang I had this morning.Reading the above it seems the black hole appeared here minus the one brain cell.

Obviously you can be rude too as well as not accepting morgellons symptoms are real. A little less disrespectin' please of one of our more valued members here.

Quote from It's Me:

"Gee, just since I posted this comment, I've had to edit it, because someone didn't pay attention and totally got the wrong impression of what I was referring to, all because she saw the words, "I just recently learned of this joke" -- damn, lady, I wasn't talking about just recently learning of morgellons disease and saying it was a joke. Without Pat here, joking and cheering us up, it would be very hard to find ANY humor in the situation we find ourselves.

What you seem to be doing is scattering small crumbs of sympathy to us here:

"I've never understood my "cult following" to begin with, but, not a single one of you is deserving of TheUnknownCat's doing you this way."

I vote with Pat who said:

"Well I for one could not give a fig what any non sufferer thinks."
