| Higher than normal ammonia levels in the blood stream are something which Staniger says she is finding in those who have Morgellons symptoms. I was reading the archive from last night's shout box and saw that 2mf said it was the result of folks having liver damage. Which kind of floored me as I thought it showed kidney damage. Well, it looks as if 2mf is right, at least for those patients who have liver damage (which may not be all who have higher blood levels of ammonia): THE KIDNEY AS A SOURCE OF BLOOD AMMONIA IN PATIENTS WITH LIVER DISEASE: THE EFFECT OF ACETAZOLAMIDE Here is a discussion about how higher ammonia concentrations in the blood may be helped in the future by new treatments, which sounds encouraging, very interesting article, but have only copied the first paragraph: New Hope For Patients With Liver and Kidney Disease “New Hope For Patients With Liver and Kidney Disease ScienceDaily (Apr. 1, 2007) — Thousands of people with liver and kidney disease die every year from too much ammonia in their blood, and scientists from the United States and Japan have found a possible solution. In the April 2007 issue of The FASEB Journal they report that a protein which excretes ammonia through pufferfish gills is similar to human Rh blood proteins. By targeting human Rh proteins, new treatments will help people with damaged livers and kidneys remove toxic ammonia from their bloodstream.” Here is a natural supplement suggested by a doctor for a family member who had a bit too much ammonia show up in testing (mild elevation): Klaire La b s Alpha-ketoglutaric acid: Alpha-Ketoglutaric Acid V13506 Assists removal of ammonia from central nervous system. Alpha-ketoglutaric (AKG) is an organic acid that is important for the proper metabolism of all essential amino acids and the transfer of cellular energy in the citric acid cycle. It is a precursor to glutamic acid, the non-essential amino acid involved in protein synthesis and the regulation of blood glucose levels. In combination with L-glutamate, AKG can reduce levels of ammonia formed in the brain, muscles and kidneys, as well as help balance the body’s nitrogen chemistry and prevent nitrogen excess in body tissues and fluids. Individuals with high protein intake, bacterial infections, or gastrointestinal dysbiosis may benefit from supplemental AKG to help balance ammonia levels and protect tissues. I would not use this though, unless a test showed some disturbance in this area, although evidently some body builders use this supplement. Alpha-ketoglutaric acid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Another company’s capusule for this supplement with a short description: Alpha-Ketoglutaric Acid Capsules Another thought I have on this issue is that some folks who show mild to moderate elevations of ammonia in the blood might be pre-diabetic (diabetes often leads to kidney damage). I personally feel that many who have Morgellons symptoms may have blood sugar abnormalities, but this is just a guess based on what I hear from posters here and what I know about TCM. |

| Removal of ammonia from system (your post was "involved" ) I sometimes take 7 drops of Miracle II neutralizer and my urine smells so awful, it has the ammonia odor. I guess it is time to start taking the drops again, I just don't like the herxing affect it has on my face... What comes in must go out. I'm ready to get rid if this! In the white light, ~jonsi

| Hi all, Just remembered my all time favourite thread from Mookie: Relief on the Cheep (I'm practily symptom free) She said to take L-Arginine and L-Ornithine to help regulate sleep, but also to help the body get rid of ammonia. They are amino acids and I wonder if Hilde found Morgies to be lacking them? I mean, how many of us have trouble sleeping? Here's some more info: L-Arginine: "A non-essential Amino acid, helps with sleep. Arginine plays an important role in cell division, the healing of wounds, removing ammonia from the body, immune function, and the release of hormones. " Arginine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia L-Ornithine: " Amino acid, helps with sleep. Stimulates the production and release of Human Growth Hormone from the pituitary gland. L-Ornithine is able to improve the immune systems response to bacteria, viruses and tumor cells in addition to detoxifying the body of ammonia deposits." L-Ornithine I will report back any improvements I find on these - don't know why didn't try them earlier? Before I sign off, another link, via Kritts, which is on the same track as Mookie on the parasite cleansing... http://www.drclark.net/en/cleanses_clean-ups/parasite_cleanses/parasite_chart.php cheers Jo xxx |

| Just thought to say this about these two supplements, they may cause stomach upset in some, especially on an empty stomach. I tried Arginine when I used to life weights and I had stomach aches from the suggested doses and soon stopped using it though I never tried taking it with meals (I think I remember reading it is not as effective if taken with meals, though maybe this only pertains to those who are trying to build some muscle). Did not know this combination could help remove excess ammonia from the body which is good to know. It will be interesting to see what happens with your sleep cycles as well as immune system, since it looks like it will help both. Pure Bulk Nutrition Supplements | L-Arginine-HCL L-Ornithine-HCL (2:1) 250g "Symptoms and/or side effects from Arginine-Ornithine overuse may include gastric upset (stomach ache), nausea, diarrhea and very rarely vomiting. Some individuals will occasionally experience one or more of these side effects when taking higher than recommended doses, and occasionally these symptoms may be experienced with dosing within the recommended ranges. If you experience any of these symptoms or side-effects following ingestion of this product you should reduce your dose or stop taking this product and consult your physician about your symptoms. The effectiveness of these amino acids are slightly improved when taken while fasting, however, symptoms and side effects may be more pronounced with fasting ingestion. If you experience side-effects with your target dose you may also try taking your dose with your meals to reduce these adverse effects. Problems or side effects experienced from dosing within the recommended ranges are rare, and single dose amounts under 5 grams are usually tolerated well by most people. But symptoms and side-effects of overuse are somewhat more common as single dose amounts approach or exceed 10 grams." |

If you don't have the ammonia odor, does that mean you probably do not have it high in you blood? Thanks, whitedove |

| Just thought those looking into arginine use might life to read this article. Especially thought this section would be of interest: "L-Ornithine L-ornithine has been clinically proven to be an antagonist of L-arginine and disrupts Larginine transport. L-ornithine is contraindicated in any L-arginine formulas, and specifically in products geared to the athlete. L-ornithine should be avoided by bodybuilders, powerlifters, and all other athletes, as well as persons desiring to increase muscle mass, because Ornithine is a non-protein amino acid. Ornithine is not anabolic and is not used to make protein in the human body, whereas Arginine does make protein and is anabolic." Arginine | L-Arginine | Arginine Formulas | Blind Amino Acid | Private Labeling Jonsi, when I was looking into Miracle II soap I found that the FDA has said it contains unsafe levels of bacteria and yet it still has not been pulled off the market. Do you know anything about this particular controversy? |

| hi tcm, I really don't care what the FDA says about anything anymore, ever since they tried to take control of homeopathic/natural medicines! I'm unaware of the FDA saying Miracle II soap contains unsafe levels of bacteria and yet it still has not been pulled off the market. I'll ask about this next time I place an order (I don't order it over the internet). Thanks for the heads-up though , although I'll keep using it because it removes the thick callouses on my feet and elbows. It stops the crawling feeling under my skin too. Gwen Scott, ND recommended it the first time I talked to her. After Clifford Carnicom tested my daughter's blood (the "9 year old") he had Gwen call me to break the news on how heavily involved her blood was. She said was was essential that we start taking drops of the neutralizer.Totally off topic, I'm so sick and tired of the political commercials. Maybe that's why I'm so cranky tonight! Again thanks, tcm! In the white light, ~jonsi

| I decided to do a quick search on the FDA's report of bacreia in Miracle II products, This was reported in Dec '05. S. Maltophillia The FDA claims that they found the bacteria, Stenotrophomonas Maltophillia in Miracle II Neutralizer. The hypelinks listed below are for the more studious minded individual and are found on medical websites intended for supportive information for physicians. The documentation shows that "S. Maltophillia" is a colonizer rather than an invasive disease. As a matter of fact doctors are told not to even treat it because it is considered common on the palms of hands, in IV bags, etc. It is a bacteria found just about everywhere. It is interesting that Clayton Tedeton, the founder of Tedeco (who produces Miracle II) had four independent studies down on the Neutralizer and it came up with zero Stenotrophomonas Maltophillia bacteria. Given the common nature of S. Maltophilla, it is not unthinkable that the FDA could have contaminated the sample themselves. But how does one hold the FDA accountable? Itwl, ~jonsi

| THanks TCM for the L-Arginine research, A whole website dedicated to l-Arginine!! Arginine | L-Arginine | Arginine Formulas | Blind Amino Acid | Private Labeling I've bought some but whether its gonna do any good - that website, suggests not, as firstly they are capsules and secondly, they are only 500mg, thirdly I dont know what form of L-Arginine they are. Doh! Interesting comment on there "Eight hours of sleep per night is required to reduce activation of HSV" I'll try them over the next week and see if I notice a more restful sleep. I didnt notice that website mentioning L-Arginine shifting ammonia from the body?? Will read some more.. Jo xxx |
