| Hi Folks, I know we all practice hygiene and continual replacement of makeup, however, I discovered something the other day! I found an old makeup lip gloss stick that I used several months ago as part of my makeup regiment. I hadn't used it in several months, and found it in the bottom of a drawer. To my astonishment, when I looked inside, there were organisms growing in it, with fibers and and all. One looked like the brown cocoon that shows up occasionally when cleaning my lesions, the others are white growths with hairs/fibers coming out from them, and then there is the famous black tar looking stuff. Part of the research involved, is to find a catalyst to generate and reproduce these organisms, therefore proving the existence. I found that the lipgloss stick, which I had used to cover the lesions before applying my makeup, has as its main ingredient Sucrose Polycottonseedate...primarily a sugar base. This does not surprise me, in that I have suspected that this organism thrives off of sugar. Let me know your thoughts on this subject. I currently have an email requesting info on who I should send this specimen to and or at least report it. Thanks, Carrie /Chocket Sonoma County Morgellons Support Group

| Hey Chocklet Carrie, Here is my thought on that: You said you used this gloss to cover the lesions and now it has all the garbage growing from it. My guess is that whatever bacteria/fungi are in your lesions have been transferred to the gloss and the gloss having the sugar base to feed the organisms make it a petri STICK (as opposed to petri DISH ). In this case, the chicken did not come before the egg. This is why I never by lip gloss in a tube. Every time you apply gloss, bacteria is picked up off your lips and transferred into the tube so the next application brings even more bacteria to your lips. Vicious cycle begins. So, whether this thing that grows fibers and cocoons is bacteria, fungi or my favorite martian, it likes sugar and will thrive on it. Probably has pretty pouty glossy lips too. | Kritters - thanks for the laugh! I now have the image of little critters with beautiful shiny lips. Ha, ha. I'm going right now to check my old makeup stash (why I keep it I don't know). Maybe I'll find a surprise too that I could take into the doctor for testing. Not that he would believe me or anything, but it sounded good! |

| Hey Meg! Yes, now, rather than taking the 'match box' samples, we can take the L'Oreal Lesion Lipstick sample! ;-) I bought foundation that works on a pump apparatus. After the last and before the next application, I always wipe off with tissue. There's a new bacteria kid on the block and he has no sense of humor! xo Kritts |

| Hey ladies - sorry if I sound like a broken record, but now a lot of cosmetics including lipstick has genetically modified ingredients (mainly from corn and cotton from what I can tell) - apparently there is nowhere to get away from this stuff and the lack of labeling requirements prevents anyone from knowing what is or isn't GM. Don't know how much the GM angle has to do with this thread, or the stuff you found on your lipstick chockett, but thought it might be worth mentioning here. Apparently there is a pretty big push by some companies to market truly organic cosmetics. Apparently the cosmetics industry is allowed to call products organic as long as 1% of the ingredients are supposedly organic (and that can include GM products apparently). Here's an article that talks about organic cosmetics and though it doesn't say specifically, it implies that many "brand" cosmetics contain GM ingredients along with several other suspect ingredients for human consumption (human skin absorbs a relatively large amount of these chemicals from makeup apparently - up to 60% according to this article). HouseofStrauss.co.uk - Articles section - Organic make up / cosmetics. what chemicals are lurking in your make up bag? |

| I love the sense of humor! You have to have one, in order to stay sane with disease. My dermatologist, 2nd opinon specialist, told me that he believed that when all was said and done, that the medical community would discover that this is a Neuro disorder. Where the brain is telling the skin that there is something in there. I smiled and nodded my head, then told him that I disagreed. I offered a compromise. Next time I have one of those white-head looking things coming out of my pores, that really isn't a white-head, but the body of 'who knows what', that he would see me immediately to take a sample of it to test. Now of course we all know that the testing standards are a laugh, but at least I'll get him to get 'up close and personal' with this parasite, to discover it isn't a pus-filled cystic acne. He agreed, so I won't have to wait two weeks from Thursday to finally see him. At least thats progress. Still no go on disability, however. Kaiser dermatology feels that I still could function normally with lesions all over my face, and that it is just an embarassment. Therefore, I need to go to psychology to get disability because of the social anxiety I am under due to the flare ups. Sorry to digress off the makeup thing. I just wanted to reply back to the thread. Im happy to see people are responding. Thanks, Chocket/Carrie

| Hi Chocket, all. You are so funny Kritts ;o) A while back I read about a morgie who used honey to culture their fibres etc from white particles and other morg debris. This person set up two containers A and B. 'A' had the honey in and nothing else (the control). B had honey and a sample in. Worth a go, so I've just set up something similar. If anything happens, I'll post some snaps. I'd forgotten all about it, so thanks Chocket for the lipstick story ;o) Jo xxx |

| Its no good folks you will all have to go naked face like me.Never did use alot of make up but don't use any at all now-easier to see whats happening in the skin and on lips.I had 'dry' lips for years and slathered everything on them from vaseline to Bobby Brown and nothing worked.Lipstick just sat on the top of the film looking a mess.NOW I know why,but y'know since taking this new protocol the lips are a lot lot better.Anyway its better for me that i don't wear the lipstick cos it was called 'Lust'...................and the window cleaner.milkman, postman etc were on a sticky wicket when they called. Oh just had a thought for the US please note Sticky Wicket doesn't mean anything rude!! |
