Morgellons/Lyme connection

Hiya all,

Forgive my ignorance, but if there is any information on a connection between the two which has been discussed before, I probably researched well enough to find it.

So, 'most' if not all people with 'Morgellons' also have Lyme disease.

Some people don't even know they HAVE Lyme disease.

I'd like to explore any connection if there is one, and there does seem to be one.

I'm tired of finding, through researching different 'diseases' the definition as being the same as other diseases in that 'the cause is unknown, although it occurs in immune-compromised individuals'

We know diseases such as Fibromyalgia are catch-all terms for yet ANOTHER disease THEY DON'T KNOW THE CAUSE OF BUT OCCURS IN IMMUNE-COMPROMISED INDIVIDUALS (yawn...what else is new) so they can sell a medication for it. Amazing, isn't it, that they don't really know what the disease IS or what CAUSED it, but they can figure out a medication for it. Of course, there is NO CURE!!!

So, I'm thinking, they may all be derivations of a base organism. A common one is the Borrelia Bergdorferi.... and you know.... quite honestly....I'd like to know (if anyone here can enlighten me) how they are so sure all these organisms aren't one and the same in different phases of their morphosis. I mean... forgive me if I'm being totally naive....but I have the distinct impression based on my research, that parasites aren't actually understood at all by the medical community. They've only focused on viruses and bacteria and haven't been doing such a great job at that, IMO. And as far as Dermatologists.... I don't have to even go there on this forum, do I?.......and having said that... if they don't know what they are, or HOW they cause diseases, how should I expect to believe that the different names different scientists give to organisms aren't actually the same organism?

I have more thoughts, but i'm tired right now. Not only that, but since I pulled a tick off my back two weeks ago, I have met a really nice woman who's had Lyme for 9 years and has totally given up on it all. Her two daughters also have it. I'm trying to convince her not to give up and to stay involved. So she told me that I should just get an antibiotic before two weeks and I'm wondering why my two friends who are nurse practitioners haven't jumped all over this for me as well. This is so scary.... people with the diseases know more about them than the professionals we trust (I don't) to know and treat them!!!

Okay... my soap box is groaning under the weight.

So Kritters,

You just had to go out and sit on your couch and get a tick on you! Don't you have enough to handle already?

It is scary to assume now that any insect bite may lead to disease. Well, doesn't that mean we should buy more pesticides to get "rid" of the pests before they get "rid" of us. I wonder what made us "immune compromised" in the first place, maybe breathing in something we used to get "rid" of something?
