Default HELP! ADVICE for appointment tomorrow on infectious disease doc

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow I have an apointment with an infectious diesese doc.
This was a referal becuase my Lyme IgM levels came back positive.

Does anyone have any advice about what i should or should not say to this
doctor, (should I mention Morgs specifically? Waht about the possible dental reaction?)
what tests i should demand, etc.?

Please especially reply if you HAVE a morgs dx, IS THERE SUCH A THING?
How do you get diagnosed with it??

Please help!!

Wow Dragonfly1!

Hi Seasprite,

I suggest that you make a list of your symptoms (if you havent already) to take with you.

You've tested positive for Lyme, which is caused by Borrelia bacteria. You've also tested positive for Staph a. Make sure the doc know these things.

A lady called Bubba told us her story about her experiences with infectious disease docs and tests and final treatments she went on. The information is no longer available on a website, but you can read it here.

Very informative.

Hope this helps. Will be thinking of you.

Jo

Please let us know how this goes. I have an appointment set up in a week for one as well and am not quite sure if I will keep it.
Does yours take cash only? That is the only part which bothers me. I have perfectly good insurance which we pay a great deal for but the only infectious disease dr. in our area doesn't accept it.

I could potentially go through all of my previous tests and pay cash and have it come out inconclusive. I don't want to run up credit cards.

This was my plan seasprite IF I follow through I know it sounds unorthodoxed but here goes.

Firstly, NO mention of Morgellon's due to the fact that you have no idea if they have a preconceived notion of this word.

I have a Morgellon's diagnoses from my GP and would still NOT mention it to any other doctor due to this reason.

Give them your symptoms. The most pressing so they focus on them.
Ask THEM what they are going to check for.
Ask THEM whether they are going to check, stool, urine, blood, sputum, etc and what they are checking for.

Call ahead if you have to. I'm surprised they didn't request a stool sample to be taken with you.

Mine wanted to give me a gyno exam??!!! Red flag. That seemed odd to me right from the get go.

P.S. I would ask them to check the hair follicles!!!! For fungi (fusarium perhaps). Best not to get too specific.

The blood for protazoa (coccidia). I'm not sure how it is done but have them test you for fluke infection. Blood or urine is the test for this but you would have to ask.

best of luck

Margo

Margo,

Did they want to give you a pap smear test? do the want to test for Herpes? You should call back and ask.

Sprite,

DEFINITELY DO NOT MENTION MORGELLONS OR ANYTHING TO DO WITH FIBERS!!! DON'T TELL THEM YOU HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING ANYTHING EITHER. DON'T ASK LEADING QUESTIONS. In my opinion, don't let them know you know ANYTHING at all bout ANYTHING, but question why and what they are doing/tests they are going to order. Ask what their suspicions may be based on your symptoms.

I made the mistake of talking too much (something new) and got sent home with a scrip for soothing ointment.

I don't remember if I asked them if they heard about Morgs when they did the intake over the phone.

So I should ask for blood, and stool and urine tests?

I just got a black light to see if there are any fibers like that video. Woah.
(is black light the same as UV???) The fibers that came out in the tub were like
that, very thin hairs, but they were very straight, not so curly as the one shown
by the guy. I asked a medical intuitive, and the guide said it was just collagen fibers.

When I did the bath the last time I did not get the burning on my spine.

Carla, I don't think I will get a delusional parasitosis dx, because I do have SOMETHING according to the lyme test.

I hope you can find a doc who will listen to you!

Then there is the DENTAL theory!! who knows!!

thanks for your support everyone.

About that gyno exam...
hey ladies...
I had a doc want to do a breast exam for a thyroid
condition. Seriously I think he just wanted to feel me up.
I didn't think about this til AFTER. And I talked about it
with someone after. There are some people who should
NOT BE ALLOWED to be doctors.

Grrrr. -Angry Sprite

I had a GREAT visit with the Infectious Disease Doc.

I felt more informed by getting that list of tests from that woman
someone referred me to.

He ordered about 60% of those tests for me also.

I will write more in a bit. And it will be interesting to see what happens.
I alreayd ahd the Lyme test from ignex whisch showed positive. I wonder if
his lab is not so good and it will show negativ and therefore he'll say "you're fine"
something is definteily up tho. sheesh i cant type today. need to go rest.

be well !!
