Hello. I had learned many years ago about post mortum findings that are commonly found and usually disregarded since it is commonly found... I learned from a tech that worked at a big university that most people are loaded with Candida/Yeast filiments that permeate the entire body... from head to toe. This is why many have disorientation... it gets into the brain as well. There is an book called "the Missing Diagnosis" that describes this illness. Could this be a variation of Candida? I looked up Candida for a girl at work and would gladly share what I found... yeast http://www.mall-net.com/mcs/afung.html Chapter Five 5.) Killing the Fungi DISCLAIMER: Not Medical Advice No therapeutic effects are claimed. Provided for discussion and information purposes only. User discression is advised. Copyright: (C) 1987-2004, JVV Related Pages: Allergy Books CRT probs Doc probs Food rotation Immune Sick bld Shop Body temp The Purple Page for Red Cabbage and Rutabagas 5.1.) Anti Fungal Preparations Once overrun with candida, the body needs a lot of help to overthrow it. At this point good nutrition, in and of itself, may not be enough. Although medicine can not heal the body, it can give the body some relief so that it may heal itself. What kind of medicines? Nystatin is said to be the prescription drug of choice amongst conventional doctors, but there are other, better, CHEAPER(!) anti-fungal medicines. No matter how you kill off your gremlins, you MUST re-establish your internal ecology somehow, usually with cultures mentioned elsewhere. if you merely kill off one of the gremlins, creating a vacant niche in your intestinal ecology, something else will take it over, something which you probably won't like. Not all of these medicines and herbs will produce the same results for you, as you may have different species of Candida, different fungi, bacteria, or other parasites. Candida seems to prefer people weakened by something else. You have to try them to see which ones are best for you. You may even find that you need several, as I did, and that their effects change with time as the mix of bacteria inside you changes. 5.1.1.) Allergies to Anti-fungals There are two problems with the anti-fungals - Allergies and die-off reactions. Sometimes they are hard to tell apart. If you eat the same plant, or even members of the same plant family, every day for some time, you may develop an allergy. Whether it will take days, weeks, or years to develop, is hard to say. You can avoid allergy development by rotating your PLANT based anti-fungals on a four to seven day schedule. I didn't, and ended up allergic to olive oil, citrus, and milk products. (Not to garlic, though, despite three years of eating several garlic cloves with each meal.) Of course, when you are in a crisis state... But start rotating them as soon as you can, don't repeat my mistake. Oh yes, after avoiding the things you are allergic to for a few months, you may be able to start using them again in a rotation. schedule 5.1.2.) Allergy or Die-Off Reaction? When candida cells die, they suddenly release all of their poisons at once, making you feel far worse for a short time. That is called a Herxhiemer, or die off reaction. You can usually tell a die-off reaction from an allergy, since a die-off: 1.) leaves you feeling better than before it hit you, 2.) does not hit you worse if you take more of the stuff after you begin feeling better. Don't give up, either of these means it's working! 5.2.) Anti-Fungal Medicines 5.3.) A Short List Here's my list and my opinions; but please note that my opinions are biased on how much room there was for improvement. When I was almost well, there was no room for dramatic improvements as there were when I was sick enough to fall down several times a day. Aloe Vera Juice Good tasting Calcium Magnesium Butyrate Helps some, not for all +- Campycidin Potent against Campylobacter P. ++++ Capricin Strong - Helped me very much ++++ Amphotericin B Highly effective, but hard to get ++++ Garlic The best and the cheapest +++ Ginger Root Great for the ears! ++++ Oregano Oil internal. Stinks! Hydrogen Peroxide Some say it works ??++ Jalapenos A mouthful from Hell! Linseed / Flax Oil An old standby Micro-Flora More than a culture Milk of Bismuth, USP Combats Camphylobacter Pylorii + Nystatin An expensive prescription + Olive Oil Mild, good with food and on the skin ++ Paracan Dramatic results for some ++++ Para-Quing Effective! ++++ ParaMycocidin Very Potent! ++ Pau D'arco Tea Good ++++ Rutabagas A life saver! And a good food +++ Red Cabbage Wonderful stuff! ++ Salt + Acidophilus Cheap and strong + Tea Tree Oil A new product from Australia Electrostatics For Electrical Engineers ONLY!!! Note, some of these are available via mail-order through Doc C's Nutrition Store. The order form lists brands which have been found to be less problematic for MCS/Candida patients, and tend to be more effective than many of the other brands. You may find it worth while to look at the brands listed even if you purchase locally. 5.4.) Perscription & Synthetic Antifungals 5.4.1.) Nystatin Nystatin is a broad spectrum anti-fungal most often prescribed. It appears to be effective to a degree, and usually produces a horrendous herxhiemer reaction which may run for weeks, especially if you are not on a soup diet at the time. (See "The Yeast Syndrome" for details.) Nystatin is expensive, and has a terrible taste! I have been taking Nystatin for several years and am just beginning to be able to discontinue it. Others say the same thing. Some of the doctors try to avoid it for that reason. Recent literature suggests that prolonged use of Nystatin may help Candida Tropicalis replace Candida Albecans, and Tropicalis is very resistant to treatment. There are other, less expensive medicines, and that should consider before going on Nystatin. One fellow I know use to take a tiny amount of Nystatin every time he took vitamin C, maybe ten or twenty times a day. Because he caught it in time, it only took him six weeks to shake off his Candida. Some even report Candida clearing in a few days. But these smart folks didn't wait till as long as I did for treatment. 5.4.2.) Fungizone / Amphotericin B One of the most effective anti-fungals is Amphotericin B, praised in Crook's "The Yeast Connection". I'm not so sure it's cheaper, but I agree that it's effective. When I take three capsules a day, I feel very good, my ears, my sense of balance and critical thinking processes all seem to work quite well. Without it, these deteriorate slowly, and the next time I take a massive dose of garlic, I get a herxhiemer reaction centering on the ears and sinus passages. The slow deterioration of certain kinds of short term memory and ability to put things in perspective may not be important to most people, but being single, and my profession requiring that I remember and relate large quantities of information, I have to be sharp all the time. NOTE: THis was years ago. Fungizone is made by Squibb here in America, but to date, the only form available here is mixed with tetracycline. We buy ours by phone and MasterCard from from a pharmacy in Paris, France. This is quite inconvenient, as we do not speak French! I seem to run out once a year due to postal strikes, personnel changes, and what have you in France. I hear rumors a pharmacy in Ontario may also carry it, but only for regular customers. Fungizone may be darned inconvenient to get, but for me, it's essential! Or was, till I found ParaMycocidin. 5.4.3.) Nizoral Nizoral is sometimes recommended for really bad cases, sometimes given as an IV. At the time, my doctor refused to even consider its use for the severe kidney and liver damage some patients of other clinics sometimes suffer. There are often other treatments with less risk and better results. 5.4.4.) Capricin or Mycopryl (Non-prescription) Another very good anti-fungal preparation is Capricin, (or Mycopryl) and it's available over the counter without a prescription! Capricin saved my life! When I was really sick, I use to take 6 capsules of Capricin before each meal. For nearly two years after that I was still eating three Capricin capsules before each meal, chewing some of the pills up, so that they would get out into the mouth mucosa. I suspect Capricin is more effective than nystatin, perhaps less than Fungizone, but I needed both. Other brands of caprylic acid, like Capristatin, had almost no effect on me. Watch out for a strong Herxhiemer's reaction the first few days. Ten minutes after taking the first two pills, I nearly fainted, falling out of my chair onto the floor. For the next few days I would deliberately lay down next to the electric heater just after taking my Capricin, so as to avoid falling down. But believe me, it was worth it! Before starting on Capricin, in March of 1986, my skin was becoming numb and the loss of speech, seizures and cold collapses were more and more frequent. I knew the end was perhaps a few months away. Within three days after starting Capricin and Pau D'arco tea, feeling came back to the skin on my arms and legs; I felt I might survive. I began increasing the dose till I was taking six pills with each meal. Capricin and Pau D`arco might have been enough to cure me, if it were not for the disaster of the city oiling (tarring) the road in front of our house in June of 1986. That little episode very nearly cost me my life and caused neurological damage that took nearly three years to recover from. (Had I been on anti-seizure medication, I would not have felt I was in danger, and would not have tried to avoid further injury by tripling up on the charcoal filters, etc.) Capricin is available by mail from Devine Tree in San Francisco, 415-661-4222, from Ben Smith Pharmacy in New Haven, Connecticut, 203-389-2666, at Country Sun in Palo Alto, and many other health food stores and some pharmacies. Capricin is made by ProBioLogic. Mycopryl, by T. E. Meesby, is the same material as Capricin, only WITHOUT the food grade wax that is in Capricin. (By the way, I spoke to Dr. Neesby, he's quite a genius! He's uncovered the anti-fungals in blue food, but doesn't think there's enough of a market for them. I suppose if we all write to him at Pro-Biologic in Fresno, California, we might convince him.) 5.4.5.) BUTYRATES T. E. Neesby also developed a calcium magnesium butyrate product which seemed to help reverse some of my food allergies. They say it "toughens up the gut". This was briefly on my physician's recommended list, however, some of his patients apparently had bad reactions to this. I didn't, because I mixed it with Capricin. It helped me, but I had to discontinue it due to financial pressures. Later on, when I could afford it, I didn't need it anymore. Calcium Magnesium butyrate tastes like what I crave in mozzarella or provilone cheese. Taken out of the capsules, it has a wicked odor, ten times worse than the worst limburger cheese!!! Being allergic to the gelatin in capsules, I use to stand in the bathroom with the fan running, empty the butyrate capsules into my mouth, wrap the empty capsules in toilet tissue and flushing them down the toilet IMMEDIATELY! My gelatin allergy subsided in time, probably because of this stuff. Recently, a product combining Capricin and the butyrates has become available, and bad reactions are said to be fewer with this product. It's cheaper than being sick. The new product is called Butyrex, by T. E. Neesby. 5.5.) Anti-Fungal Herbs 5.5.1.) Garlic Garlic is praised in "The Yeast Syndrome" and other books as one of the strongest anti-fungals available, rivaling Nystatin and the like. It's also CHEAP! The use of garlic goes back to before the time of the pyramids. The easiest and most effective way to take garlic is what we call the "Cathcart Pill", and it works wonders! Dr. Cathcart suggested I swallow a clove or two WHOLE, without chewing, so that the juices will continue to be released as it passes through the entire intestinal tract. Watch out for "Herxhiemer's Revenge", that die off reaction the first time you take it! Mine sometimes comes as a headache 24 hours later. Even now, if I have not been careful with my diet, I will get a mild herxhiemer reaction, indicating that the candida and such are acting up again. Others say it hits them within hours of the first time they try it. Some have said they thought they would die, then four to six hours later, felt better than they ever felt in their lives! Back when I was very sick, I use to eat raw garlic before almost every meal, chewing it in Aloe Vera juice or olive oil to keep that "sharp flavor" down to a tolerable level. Later I would eat so much garlic every Saturday that my sweat would reek of it. (It did wonders for my social life.) In my line of work, I wouldn't dare eat garlic before going to work. And do rotate it, a few days on and a few days off; you can become allergic to garlic. Just don't mistake a die off reaction for an allergy; after completion, the die off reaction leaves you feeling better than you felt before taking the item in question. Since garlic seems to trigger some post nasal drip, one might take it after the nystatin, capricin, fungizone, etc. so as to avoid spitting out any of these expensive medicines with the drip. And, sample the different aloe vera juices. They are not all alike. (I am told the one I used was not the best. Lametco cold processed is supposed to be far bettern. You will find that not all Aloe Vera juices agree with you. All of them have Citric Acid, and some citric acids are made by fermentation... Yeast!) The aged garlic preparations are interesting, though I hear they may not be as powerful as raw garlic; nothing is as powerful as RAW garlic right from the bulb. I also hear one may run more risk of becoming allergic to garlic if one uses the aged extracts. Some research presents aged garlic extracts as the best anti-fungal, but, being funded by the manufacturers of those preparations, they don't test it against real raw garlic, as they know what the results will be... One of the other things I did, was to make a soup with half a pound of garlic and two pounds of onions, boiled 15 minutes. After this cooled, I would add liquid acidophilus cultures and let it stand overnight. Cooked garlic is not as effective as raw garlic. Raw onions, on the other hand, have too much carbohydrates to eat. I use to eat two servings of this soup on Saturday, and my co- workers would kid me about my garlic odor the Tuesday after! When I changed jobs, this contributed to my being fired. Do take care. Swallowing raw garlic is less odorous. Remember, without your health, you can't hold down a job, but with it, you can always get another job. And in time, you won't need to do these radical things. One other item: Sweating the garlic juice kills skin fungi. That's important, as skin fungi are a major source of acetaldehydes and other toxins. See also Yogurt on the skin and Olive Oil. 5.5.2.) Rutabagas The Rutabaga, also known as the Swedish Turnip, is mentioned in the Lithuanian National Encyclopedia as being good "for the fungus that grows in the mouth", the manifestation of candida we call thrush. This yellowish root can be eaten raw, baked or boiled. It has a blandish taste, somewhat crunchy in the raw state, somewhat like potatoes when boiled. When I was so ill that I was barely able to walk, I ate a bowl of these. The die-off reaction was quite visceral; for the next six hours or so, my stomach felt like it was on fire! I felt this pain moving slowly down my intestines till it crossed over and passed out through the urine. (Mind you, I really had a BAD infestation of Candida!) The next morning I felt much stronger! It really helped! So I ate another bowl the next day, and there was only a mild discomfort for about two hours. Repeating this the third day, there was no discomfort. The change in energy levels and well being was impressive, taking me from someone who could barely walk, roughly 0.25 on a scale of 0 - 10, to about a three. That may not seem much to a person who is healthy, but to me then, it was about 24 times better than being almost dead! The rutabagas seemed more effective than garlic! Just what it killed off, I don't know, but it sure killed off something! For the next five days, I ate nothing but rutabagas. Unfortunately, lacking digestive juices and not eating enough cultures, something else moved in and began creating so much intestinal gas I was afraid my intestines would rupture from the pressure! Had I known about overdosing with Bifidus and Acidophilus cultures, things might have been different. After that, we rotated rutabaga into my diet every four to seven days with no discomfort other than mild gas. Red Cabbage, Horseradish, and Diacon are other good members of this family, each with its own good effects. Watch out for the red cabbage, it too can produce a strong die-off reaction! 5.5.3.) Ginger Root Ginger helped me with a number of problems, especially with my ears. When I told people that I chew slices of ginger root, they would look at me funny and tell me I must be mistaken, that ginger root was too hot to chew. It tasted sweet to me. Use to. Note the past tense. I would chew slices for long periods of time, letting the oils seep into the circulation through the mouth. This would maximize exposure to the sinus cavities and the ears. Ginger helped me with balance problems, ear popping, etc.. Sometimes I would keep a little ginger in my cheek between my gum and cheeks when I took a nap. It helped a lot! Then I began eating oysters and taking a lot of zinc. And one day, two years after I started eating ginger, an innocent little ginger slice I chomped down upon erupted into the most incredible inedible fireball in my mouth. But it came from the same ginger root I used the day before! Then it dawned on me, people who are zinc deficient have a poor sense of taste, and oysters are loaded with zinc! If ginger does not taste like a fireball, maybe you do not have enough zinc! Either that, or you are not desperate enough. Even if ginger tastes hot to you, You can make a nice tea with ginger root, etc. Slice six or more thin slices from a washed root, and put into a glass teapot. Add Pau D'arco tea or Oolong tea, and perhaps several sliced cloves of garlic, and add a few drops of Tea Tree oil just before drinking it. Savor the odor, and eat the debris. But... Don't do it every day. 5.5.4.) Pau D'arco Tea This legendary product from Argentina seems to have a strong effect. Everyone seems to recommend it because it helps. This is also a great cure for athlete's foot - simply soak your feet in a thin layer of the tea each day, works in under a week, but you might see a change with one treatment. Dormant spores take a while to kill, so keep it up for the full week. I would stay away from the Brazilian brands as they may come from dead trees killed with agent orange, or been exposed to the mercury based gold mining operations revealed by the National Geographic Society in some of their films. And who knows what kind of other bark the natives might add to make their bundles heavier, product standards being "somewhat lax" out in the jungle. The Fiji Tea brand is good, coming from a plantation in Argentina that keeps its trees alive. Definitely recommended! I don't recommend the chewable tablets as one can become allergic to the binders too easily. Oregano Oil Oragano oil has been shown to be highly effective against Candida. I've tried it from time to time when I had relapses with good effects. Many health stores carry it now. It stinks quite badly, so I always kept the bottle in a plastic bag in a larger sealed bottle in the freezer. It is more effective than garlic; though that's not an excuse for not eating garlic. 5.5.5.) Mathake Tea Another potent tea is made from Mathake. I notice when I drink several cups a day, I feel very good the next day, especially the skin on my legs. It seems to have more of an effect than Pau D'arco tea, but mixing them together seems to produce a much stronger effect than either taken alone. I wonder what would have happened if I had found this earlier... 5.5.6.) Olive Oil Olive oil is not as strong an anti-fungal as garlic or capricin; but it has its uses. It is reported that olive oil works by preventing the yeast phase from going mycelial, that is, from sending out roots into the flesh, whenever conditions get bad for the candida. [TYS] That may make the candida more susceptible to other anti-fungals. It is also one way I discourage the hunger-like pangs candida can occasionaly cause. Good olive oil is cold pressed and "virgin". I prefer Sciabica's 100% pure virgin-organic Mission variety olive oil. Their label use to explain all of this, but when their sales took off, they came out with an artsy label that says nothing. I bet they sold more oil because of the explanations on their label than any other reason! Eagle brand is said to be ok. Hains is not very good. I would stay away from most imports. There have been quite a few scandals involving some of the imported brands of wine, cheese, oils, etc. If such adulterated foods can make healthy people ill, why risk it? Yes, olive oil is a seed oil. Well, there are exceptions to the rules of non-seed vegetables. Daniel Herman, who told me about non-seed vegetables, suggested I try up to six ounces per day. That seems like too much to me, and I would think that if I took it each day, I might become allergic to it in the same way I became allergic to linseed oil, another anti-candidal therapy favorite. Olive oil helps in several ways: it has some anti-fungal properties, reducing the number of mycelial holes in the gut, thereby reducing the quantity of undigested food proteins reaching the bloodstream; it coats the stomach prolonging digestion and smoothing the blood sugar peak following meals. With a smoother blood sugar curve, and less protein to mop up, the immune system calms down and functions better. As does the brain. And the body will begin to heal. But, like any anti-candidal food, a herxhiemer's reaction is possible the first few times one tries it. I find Olive oil a good chaser an hour or so after meals, and I usually take 1/8th of a teaspoon of NIACIN with it. Niacin has been recommended in cases of candida, hardening of the arteries, elevated cholesterol, etc. The oil slows its absorption, lessening the flushing. Olive oil is also good to take at night, and can serve as another source of fuel. Since part of my problem was in the lungs and nasal passages, I would occasionaly taken a mouth full of olive oil, and let air bubble through while inhaling slowly through my mouth. I have also oiled my nostrils with it on occasion to help get vapors up into my sinus cavities and nasal passages. I think these bizarre acts may have helped me a little when I was really sick. For a while, I even washed my ears with a mixture of olive oil, garlic, nystatin, and fungizone. It may have been slightly more effective than the hydrogen peroxide based mixtures, but it stank! Well, I was desperate! As soon as I became less desperate, I switched to distilled water, then hydrogen peroxide. The reek of olive oil and garlic was one of the reasons I was kicked out of the health care place I was staying at the time. That and my intestinal gas. More on that humorous little episode under Digestive Enzymes. Since I wrote this years ago, I've also used olive oil on my feet and hands to cure fungus infections. In one case I had a bad fungus in the nail of my thumb, making it delaminate into several layers. olive oil on it twice a day for a week cured that. I've also started putting olive oil on the skin. This is described in the Bible. People who do not bathe daily end up with skin fungi slowly producing acetaldehyde, mildly poisoning them. Olive oil kills those fungi. See also Yogurt on the skin. 5.5.7.) Linseed and Flax Oils Linseed oil, cod liver oil, and many other oils have been recommended for environmental illness and candida. However, many of these may suppress the good bacteria in the gut, and can be allergy forming. This is especially true if the oil has become oxidized. I became allergic to several brands of Linseed oil in a very short time. Another sufferer is quite allergic to olive oil. This does not necessarily meant that others will also become allergic, or that these oils are bad, only that one may find it desirable to rotate one's oils. One should also take care to make sure that the oils are fresh, cold pressed, virgin oils. Note that cod liver oil turns rancid very rapidly, causing it to taste bitter and foul, the way everyone expects it to taste. It's not supposed to taste that way! Recently I found cold pressed flax seed oil, packed in nitrogen gas to prevent oxidation. (It's ok, nitrogen is the inert gas that makes up 78% of the atmosphere. It isn't poisonous unless it is burned to form nitrous oxides, or unless you are under sixty feet of water, where the pressure causes nitrogen narcosis.) Linseed and Flax are the same plant, but I am not allergic to this flax oil, probably because the other "cold pressed" linseed oils were rancid or oxidized. 5.5.8.) Tea Tree Oil Recently I have tried Tea Tree oil. My father puts seven drops in a shot glass of olive oil, then downs that before some of his meals. (He really shouldn't take olive oil at the start of his meals, as olive oil reduces absorption. Take olive oil after meals.) I drip a little Tea Tree oil into my hot Pau D'arco tea, then sniff the vapors and slurp it as the tea cools. The strong turpentine like odor is quite effective in clearing the sinuses. One does tend to reek of it a bit after taking it. If I am rushed, I may I pop a few drops into a mouth FULL of water, or into my vitamin C drink. I also used a mixture of olive oil, nystatin, and Tea Tree oil in my ears every once in a while. Undiluted Tea Tree oil is a bit too strong an irritant to put in the ears. It also reacts with hydrogen peroxide, making the mix VERY HOT. Some people claim to have been cured by this oil alone or in conjunction with Pau D'arco tea. 5.5.9.) Paracan 144 Another new product is PARACAN 144 by Biophase Systems International, 314 West 1st ave, Roselle, New Jersy 07203. The method is to start with one drop in water and build up to 6 drowp twice daily. Since this is an oily substance which may stick to an remain on the glass, it needs to be stirred or shaken till it is foamy before taking. (I fill my mouth with water and drip 6 drops in, swish it about my teeth, then swallow it. It may taste bad, but it tastes a lot better than Nystatin!) Treatment may take several months... Paracan is made from grapefruit seed oil. It stands to reason that citrus fruits, being likely to turn moldy when left on the ground, would have some extra strong anti-fungals to protect the seeds themselves. We hear that many people improve dramatically on Paracan. I am using paracan, and it seems to help; but since I am almost ok, it does not make as dramatic a difference to me as some of the things I took when I was almost dead. In 1988, Dr. Leo Galland claimed to have treated several hundred patients with PARACAN-144 and Artemisia annua, (Para-Quing, below,) with a failure rate of under 10%. He emphasizes that the Artemisia must be Artemisia ANNUA. But he did not say what he consider a success or a failure. One doctor's success is another doctor's failure. If the patient does not come back, most doctors consider that a success. With Candida, the usual reason the patient did not come back is that the treatment didn't work and the patient switched doctors. Unfortunately, that makes the doctor think his is the best treatment. If you give up on a doctor, at least call to tell him to read "The Yeast Syndrome" and "The Yeast Connection", if enough of his patients do, he might. Like Paracan, ParaMycocidin is an extract of citrus seeds. It is made by Allergy Research Group, recommended dose is 1 - 4 capsules per day for the capsules, or 1 - 2 drops once or twice a day for the liquid. (I and others report that the liquid is MUCH more effective than the capsule.) More recently, being on citrus seed extracts when a pipe burst in my apartment and spread mold into my bedroom, I have become allergic to all citrus products. Why? My body mistook them for part of the mold it was trying to fight off, and formed antibodies to it as well. That is a common reaction. 5.5.10.) Para-Quing A new product to be used with Paracan, is Para-Quing, by Allergy Research Group. (Also sold as ParaQing by NutriCOlogy.) Dosage is 1 to two capsules after meals. I am up to four. Dr. Leo Galand claims very good results against Giardia Lambla, which he finds very common among candida patients. The speculation is that the Giardia often presides the Candia. Giardia and other protozoa, by the way, are seldom found in stool cultures, for they live in the mucosa. It may take six months of treatment to cure; but some of us need to take it much longer. Could it be that we are allergic to the Candida itself? That any Candida causes symptoms in those of us who are? I don't know. By the time this became available, I was almost well, hadn't had any seizures for quite some time. Within an hour of taking this, I had a severe reaction - my right side went rigid in a herxhiemer die-off reaction. It must have hit something! Hard! Lie down after you take this one! So I promptly went and took two more drops - if it was a die off reaction, the second reaction, if there was one, should be much milder. There wasn't a second reaction. And I was able to quit Nystatin and Fungizone within a week! (On the other hand, if I had been very sick, the reaction of two whole capsules might have been more than I could take! Start out slowly! Half a capsule?) Alas, we now suspect this too may be upsetting my liver parameters, (alkaline phosphates, SGOT, and SPGT,) and so after a few months of being almost 100% well, (save for the lack of stomach acid,) it was decided that I should stop and go back on the other things. We are still trying to see if it's the paramycocidin, or if something else that caused the problem. Another sufferer had his liver problems correct themselves while on it. Each of us is different. As they say, one man's milk is another man's poison. Other Anti-Fungals 5.6.1.) Salt plus Acidophilus Most acidophilus cultures are loaded with lactic acid. It seems that adding salt to lactic acid produces a strong anti-fungal, one strong enough to give me a die off reaction even after I thought I was cured! But after taking it a few days, that reaction subsided. I take a quarter of a teaspoon of salt, dropping it onto my tongue, then take a swig of liquid acidophilus culture. When the culture hits the salt, the salt seems to disappear instantly. Some speculate it forms sodium lactate, a patented anti-fungal compound. But since sodium lactate forms naturally in your body whenever you eat salt and cultures, you probably aren't violating any patents by taking it this way. Lie down after you take this one! 5.6.2.) Milk of Bismuth Pepto Bismol or Milk of Bismuth, USP. Recommended dose is a tablespoon three times a day for a month or so, used for LOW stomach acid. Warning - Bismuth Poisoning is possible with prolonged use. Low stomach acid is a common complaint of some candida victims. Heliobacter Pyloridus (Recently featured in a Scientific American Magazine issue,) can reduce stomach acid, causing fungal problems. Studies funded by the makers of Pepto Bismol have shown that taking three spoons a day between meals will eliminate this bacteria and restore stomach acid in a month. Unfortunately, Pepto Bismol contains petrochemical dyes, flavorings, and other nasty chemicals. Lilley's "Milk of Bismuth, USP", does not contain those chemicals. The reason Pepto Bismol is pink, is to distinguish it from plain old fashioned Milk of Bismuth, which predates it by a good many years! I tried a small Pepto Bismol, and felt some improvement, and mild allergy symptoms from the other chemicals in it. So I bought a pint of Milk of Bismuth, and used it for a few weeks. It must work, as I began to feel "real hunger" acidic twinges again! And my intestinal gas odors changed, arguably for the better. Warning: long term use can result in BISMUTH POISONING, which damages bone tissue. Some time later, my liver enzymes became disturbed and so we suspected a very mild case of bismuth poisoning, or something else. 5.6.3.) Campycidin A stronger way of combating campylobacter, is Campycidin by Thorne Reaearch Labs, Seattle, Washington. I tried this, and it seemed to be the most effective way of restoring my stomach acid that I had run across. Unfortunately, after less than a week, I suddenly developed a sudden and dramatic drop in blood pressure whenever I took this medicine; an allergy reaction. This just as my stomach seemed on the verge of becoming normal. I suspect the licorice or other herbs, and not the bismuth citrate, but who knows. I am told most do quite well on it if their problem is Campylobacter Pilorii; but since my blood tests for C.P. have been negative, it may be that this is effective against other things as well. 5.6.4.) Micro Flora Although Mirco-Flora is not specifically an anti-fungal, I have been told that some have benefited by washing their ears with this in the manner described elsewhere. Watch out for the herxhiemer reaction! (See "Ears", and "Cultures", elsewhere.) 5.6.5.) Hydrogen Peroxide I have heard that oral hydrogen peroxide therapy has helped some people cure candida. I am still trying to track down information on this. Dr. Galland mentioned this on one of his lectures, as have other people. The general method is to buy food grade hydrogen peroxide, a 35% solution, and mix one drop with 5 ounces of water, swallow it on empty stomach two or three times a day. This works best against upper intestinal stuff. Work up to perhaps 16 drops per 5 ounces. Nausea is often noted above the 5 drop level. I have not tried this yet. 5.6.6.) Electrostatics It is said that vitamin C works by providing electrons to the body. Bean plants have been shown to generate 12,000 volts on the surface of the leaves to repel fungi. (Yes, but remember that the current, the quantity of electrons, is so small that it might take a few million bean plants to push enough electrons through a flashlight bulb to give it a dim red glow. That's sort of like taking a fifty foot hose full of water and hanging it out of a window 50 feet up. Even though there may be a lot of pressure at the bottom, a hose can't produce a fifty foot wall of water; whereas a large lake a mere ten feet deep can easily wash your house away. Voltage is pressure, current is flow, how many electrons are moving. It takes voltage to push the electrons into you, it's voltage that shocks you, but current that kills you - a mere five thousandth of what it takes to light up a 100 watt light bulb, at least if you make a good connection. What's watt? Voltage times current, that's watt. Sorry, you can tell I'm feeling good these days.) Can one simply pump electrons into the body using some electronic equipment? Yes, but the results can be quite shocking. My father, and electrical engineer by trade, and mother have tried laying on a copper sheet charged to MINUS 15,000 volts, using a special LOW CURRENT electrostatic power supply. My parents say it is much easier to breathe when laying on this. This might be of interest to electrical engineers with candida or aspergillis in the lungs, but... Since ONE CAN VERY EASILY ELECTROCUTE ONESELF this way, and since the effects do not appear to be that great, I strongly recommend AGAINST trying this. (No, electricity from the wall WILL NOT WORK! There's too much deadly current, not enough voltage, and what is worse, each terminal alternates between positive and negative sixty times a second - 60 cycles per second of AC - Alternating Current.) But if you find a copy of the book, "The Body Electric", and if you have an electronics background, you might consider buying it. Reading it won't electrocute you. Nor will attaching the NEGATIVE terminal of a nine volt transistor battery to your bed frame. Won't help much, either; but seeing it there might remind you to take your medicine, and that may have a much stronger positive effect! Route the positive terminal to a bare copper wire tacked to the ceiling over the bed, you'll see it better that way. I suppose it would be of some use if you hung fresh garlic cloves from the wire, especially if you ate them every fourth day. But the best use of electricity is for heating, as noted elsewhere. 5.6.7.) Jalapenos Some people call this stuff a food. It sure doesn't taste like food to me! Jalapinos (pronounced "Hala-ping-yos", probably derived from the victim's yell,) are a Mexican food, an area high in all sorts of water borne pests like Giardia, amoebas, etc. Local rumor has it that eating a small can of this stuff a day for a month will cure most any stomach trouble. I picked up a few 3.5 ounce cans of Ortega Brand whole Jalapenos, though I have seen fresh jalapenos in the produce section of some stores. Heck, after just one of these thumb sized fire breathing beasts, I'm ready to say I'm cured of anything! Anything!!! Once the oils (from the seeds?) soak into the mucose tissue, it just keeps on burning no matter what one drinks. After half a can, I began to sweat, the hair on my head became wet. By the time I finished the little can, my sinuses were draining freely, more freely than garlic or ginger root, both of which seem notably milder. My ears popped, then hurt a bit as they did on the worst garlic reaction I'd ever had. These are all very good signs. My best anti-fungal, rutabaga, caused similar intestinal pains for six hours after I first ate it, and red cabbage put me out for an hour. This only put me out of action for three, and left me feeling very clean and much later. A grand die off reaction, a Mexican's revenge upon Montezuma's revenge! Many southern peoples take pride in eating hot foods, and this may very well be another of those hidden cultural cures that are overlooked because they are not medicine; it's just that everyone in the area has been subconsciously learned that avoiding these foods isn't healthy. That and the macho "I can take it better than you can!" I finished up the 3.5 oz. can, but just barely, then went to bed, sleeping(?) for three hours. You might start with one or two then work your way up to a full can a day. It's dire medicine, but it sure makes you feel good afterwards! 5.7.) My Favorite Antifungal What is my favorite anti-fungal? A few cloves of garlic swallowed whole before going to bed Friday night. The odor of fresh garlic is quite less than cooked garlic, and it usually clears by Monday morning. As for Rutabaga, it's a very good food, too! That and ParaMycocidin. The one I like the least: Howling bingo's!!! (Jalapenos) 5.8.) Post Nasal Drip No matter how well you kill off the Candida in your gut, if you have Candida in your nasal passages, it will re-colonize your stomach from your post nasal drip, especially if you have los stomach acid! Spit post nasal drip out! Use an old vitamin bottle or a plastic bag, but spit it out! It's loaded with all the airborne Candida, the other fungi and all the dust and pollution your nose cleaned from the air you breath. Spitting helped me with the effects of ginger and garlic, which normally increase post nasal drip for fifteen minutes after you take them. Spitting also prevented the stomach troubles my early nasal washes seemed to cause. Spit those candida cultures out! You need acidophilus cultures, not candida cultures! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (C) 1987, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1994, 2006 mcs@mall-net.com. Normally this fungus lives in healthy balance with the other bacteria and yeasts in the body; however, certain conditions can cause this fungus to multiply, weakening the immune system and causing an infection known as candidiasis. Because this fungus travels through the bloodstream to many parts of the body, various symptoms may develop. When this fungus infects the oral cavity, it is called thrush. White sores may form on the tongue, gums, and inside the cheeks. When the fungus infects the vagina, it results in vaginitis. The most common symptoms include a large amount of white, cheesey discharge and intense itching. Very often allergies to foods are present. Allergy testing is advised. Oral thrush, athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, and even diaper rash can develop as a result of food allergies and Candida albicans. Because candidiasis can infect various parts of the body-the most common being the ears, nose, gastrointestinal tract, and bowels-it can also be characterized by many symptoms. These include constipation; diarrhea; colitis; abdominal pain; canker sores; persistent heartburn; muscle and joint pain; sore throat; congestion; nagging cough; numb hands, legs, or face; tingling sensations; acne; vaginitis; kidney and bladder infections; arthritis; depression; hyperactivity; hypothyroidism followed by adrenal problems; and even diabetes. Some afflicted with candidiasis may develop a sensitivity to the environment. Many cannot tolerate the smell of rubber, petroleum products, tobacco, exhaust fumes, and chemical odors. Candidiasis may affect both men and women; however, it is rarely transmitted sexually. An infected mother may pass the fungal infection known as thrush to the newborn. Most often the baby's tongue will appear red and be covered with white spots that resemble milk spots. Thrush may also infect the baby's buttocks, appearing as a rash. Because there is no simple, accurate test, this infection is difficult to detect. Women diagnosed with a yeast infection should also be checked for diabetes. Because their vaginal environment is more conducive to the growth of yeast, diabetics are at greater risk of contracting a yeast infection such as candidiasis. NUTRIENTS SUPPLEMENT SUGGESTED DOSAGE COMMENTS Very Important Capricin from Professional Specialties or Caprystatin from Arteria (caprylic acid) 4 capsules 3 times daily with meals. 1st week: 1 tablet twice daily. 2nd week: 2 tablets twice daily. 3rd week: 3 tablets twice daily. Destroys the Candida fungus. Dioxychlor from American Biologics or Aerobic 07 from Aerobic Life Products 5 drops in water twice daily. These stabilized oxygen products destroy the fungus, while preserving the "good" bacteria. Garlic Capsules (Kyolic) 2 capsules 3 times daily. An odorless form of garlic that inhibits the infecting organism. Kyolic vaginal suppositories also effectively treat Candida vaginitis. Maxidophilus or Megadophilus or Non-Dairy Neo-Flora or DDS Extracts or Prime-Dophilus from Klaire Laboratories Use as directed on label. Send for Superdophilus: Natren Inc. 10935 Camarillo St. N. Hollywood, CA. 91602 Eugalan Topfer, a from of mother's milk from Germany is the best form. A vegetarian form is also available for anyone who cannot tolerate dairy products. Omega 3-6 with evening primrose oil from Arteria or primrose oil or salmon oil Use as directed on label. A good source of essential fatty acids. Vitamin B complex with extra biotin 100 mg 3 times daily. Malabsorption is common in candidiasis. Vitamin B12 lozenges 1 lozenge (2,000 mcg) under the tongue 3 times daily, taken between meals. Vitamin B injections may be necessary. Important for digestion. Needed for metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Candida prevents the absorption of nutrients from the intestinal tract. Important Germanium 100-200 mg daily. Improves tissue oxygenation. Helpful Coenzyme Q10 100 mg daily. Improves tissue oxygenation. L-Cysteine (amino acid) 500 mg on an empty stomach twice daily. A potent antioxidant and free radical destroyer. Multivitamin and mineral complex (zinc, iron, and yeast free) with vitamin A and selenium Daily as directed on label. 25,000 IU 200 mcg. Nutrients are needed for proper immune function. Orithrush from Cardiovascular Research Use as a mouth rinse or as a douche. Destroys Candida. Protein supplement (Free Form Amino Acid Complex from Cardiovascular Research) 1/4 tsp. under the tongue between meals on an empty stomach. RECOMMENDATIONS Do not use corticosteroids or oral contraceptives until condition improves. Oral contraceptives can upset balance of Candida albicans. Avoid aged cheeses, alcohol, chocolate, dried fruits, fermented foods, all grains containing gluten (wheat, rye, and barley), ham, honey, nut butters, pickles, mushrooms, soy sauce, sprouts, sugars of all forms, and all yeast products. Also eliminate citrus acid fruits (e.g., oranges, grapefruit, lemons, tomatoes, pineapple, and limes) from your diet for one month; then add back only a few twice weekly. These are alkaline-forming and Candida thrives on them. Your diet should be fruit free, sugar free, and yeast free. Candida thrives in a sugary environment, so your diet should be low in carbohydrates. Eat vegetables and meat instead. Eating live yogurt or applying it directly to the vagina can help inhibit the growth of the fungus. Consume also brown rice, millet, and acidophilus. Acidophilus capsules help to restore the normal balance of the bowel and vagina. This diet program has been used for years with good results. Take only hypoallergenic food supplements. Avoid chemical household products and cleaners, chlorinated water, moth balls, synthetic textiles, and damp and moldy places, such as basements. To prevent reinfection, use a new toothbrush every thirty days. This is a good preventive measure against both fungus and bacterial infections of the mouth. CONSIDERATIONS For vaginal disorders use Yeast-Gard vaginal suppositories from Wakunaga of America Company. Candida-Forte from Nature's Plus is good for mild cases candidiasis. All persons on long-term antibiotics or chemotherapy are at high risk for severe cases of candidiasis. Most doctors no longer use nystatin or antibiotics because they weaken the immune system and can damage certain organs. When prescribed, they are usually only for short-term treatment. Occasionally the antifungal drugs Nizoral and amphotericin B are also used for treatment. Stronger strains of yeast can develop, becoming resistant to the drugs. Higher dosages are then required, further weakening the immune system. High mercury levels can result in candidiasis. Mercury salts inhibit the growth of necessary "friendly" bacteria in the intestines. You may want to have a hair analysis done to determine the levels of toxic metals. You might want to try pau d'arco herb tea. This tea contains an antibacterial agent. It does have an alkaloid base and a small percentage of people may not benefit from its use. Those that do not benefit from tea should try clove tea instead. It is a good idea to alternate between the two teas because clove tea has some benefits that pau d'arco does not have and vice versa. To make Pau d'arco tea, boil one quart of distilled water with two tablespoons tea for five minutes. Store it in the refrigerator with the tea leaves in. Strain as much you need. Drink three to six cups daily. Candidiasis may be related to hypoglycemia and allergies. Consult these sections for additional suggestions. Fiber is an important part of the diet. Oat bran is more easily digestible than wheat bran. http://www.thewayup.com/newsletters/041500.htm The Way Up Newsletter Vol. 19, 04-15-00 CANDIDA --"all forgiveness is a gift to yourself." Course In Miracles NAMASTE AND WELCOME TO THIS MONTH'S WAY UP NEWSLETTER WHAT IS THE TRUTH ABOUT CANDIDA? Candida Albicans is a yeast organism which peacefully coexists in & with many people when it is present in modest amounts. When circumstances lead to the excessive growth of candida in the body, one can develop myriad symptoms of chronic illness. The conditions of overgrowth is called Candidiasis. The numerous problems which can result from this are called Candida Related Complex, or Candida Colonization/Hypersensitivity Syndrome. What frustrates me is that though there is a great deal of information written on this subject, traditional physicians are not paying any attention to it. This creates tremendous confusion for those suffering from this problem. Those patients who seek consultation from physicians who acknowledge & diagnose candida are met with scoffing & disbelief when they report this to their more traditional physician. Why all the misunderstanding? Because most doctors only recognize a brief vaginal "yeast" infection known as monilia, a brief oral "yeast" infection known as thrush, or a serious life threatening "systemic candidiasis" found only in those with severe immune deficiency such as in Aids patients. But these doctors fail to recognize that the same fungal overgrowth which can occur in the mouth or vagina can occur in any mucous membranes in the body. This includes the entire gastrointestinal tract, the sinuses, the ears , nasopharynx, & entire respiratory system, & the genitourinary tract. And of course, fungal overgrowth can occur on the skin & under the finger & toenails. Furthermore this may not be the short-lived condition they attempt to treat with 1-3 days of antifungal medicine. Some people develop a short term fungal overgrowth related to antibiotic treatment which can be readily cleared with a few days of meds. Yet a larger number suffer from Chronic Candidasis which is a far more complicated situation. I have seen published figures that this is as high as 80 million Americans. I don't know how they got those figures, but I know I have seen it frequently in my patients for many years & I & family members have been previous victims of Chronic Candidiasis. I got my start by being a sugarholic for many younger years & promiscuously using antibiotics for the frequent sore throats I was getting during the rigourous hours of Medical school & training. Then, they knew very little about it, so I grappled for years before the problem was taken care of--by me. So I am particularly peeved when doctors say it doesn't exist. WHAT PREDISPOSES TO CHRONIC CANDIDA OVERGROWTH? Recurrent antibiotic use, steroid drugs, use of acid blockers, birth control pills, excess sugar & refined carbohydrate intake, alcohol, diabetes, decreased immune function, severe chronic stress, & familial factors are the main predisposers to chronic candida. WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS? Anyone who has & knows they have chronic candida knows how many different symptoms can be stirred up. Unfortunately, most who have this disorder are unaware of it. Such individuals may crave sugar, breads, carbohydrates & alcohol- though they are often alcohol intolerant. They may be bothered by the smell of tobacco smoke & more symptomatic when exposed to chemicals, such as household chemicals, perfumes. They may feel worse in damp muggy locations & not infrequently develop inhalant mold allergies. General symptoms may be fatigue, drowsiness, muscle aches, weakness, or tension, joint pain or swelling, dizziness, loss of balance, incoordination, fluid retention & tissue swelling, numbness, burning or tingling. Cognitive/emotional symptoms may be a sense of spaciness or mental fog, difficulty concentrating, poor memory, depression, anxiety, frequent mood changes, & irritability. Head symptoms may be headache, nasal congestion or postnasal drip, nasal itching, chronic sinusitis, visual changes, burning, tearing, or itching eyes, fluid in ears, ear pain & congestion, recurrent ear infections, draining, itching ears, sore or dry throat or mouth, & scalp lesions. Gastrointestinal symptoms may be constipation or diarrhea, bloating, belching, & flatulence, indigestion, heartburn, esophagitis, bad breath, & mucous in the stools. Respiratory symptoms can be persistent cough, pain or tightness in the chest, wheezing, or shortness of breath. Genitourinary symptoms can be genital itching, burning, or irritation, loss of sexual feeling, thick white lumpy vaginal discharge, painful intercourse, menstrual cramps, urinary urgency or frequency, burning on urination, PMS, endometriosis, prostatitis, & impotency. Skin symptoms can be rashes & itching, especially in areas which are moist & get little air circulation. Sometimes there are fingernail & toenail fungal infections. WHY SO MANY KINDS OF SYMPTOMS? This is a logical question & the reason the manifestations can be so widespread is complex. Some of the symptoms are related to local inflammation of the mucous membranes caused by the overgrowth of the candida yeast. Then the candida organisms can produce 79 different toxins which can cause other inflammatory responses anywhere in the body. Most notable of these is acetaldehyde which is the same chemical to which alcohol is metabolized. These chemical overloads may directly induce symptoms, as well as chronically affecting the system so that chemical hypersensivity reactions occur. The toxic metabolites further suppress the immune system which may already be compromised. The individual may become allergic to the candida organism, so that reaction is added & also may become allergic to other foods & inhalant molds. The inflammation & production of chemicals in the GI tract alter the intestinal membranes making them allow particles to pass into the system which would ordinarily be blocked. This increased intestinal permeability is one of the root causes of delayed food hypersensivity reactions, so food allergy symtpoms get added to the list. Most serious of all are the autoimmune & endocrine disorders which may develop after years of significant chronic candidiasis. Decreased adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid, & ovarian functioning may also be associated with autoimmune disorders of those glands. Other associated disorders may be hair loss, vitiligo, malabsorption, chronic hepatitis, dental enamel dysplasia, & disorders of the thymus gland. This is why I am appalled by those doctors who fail to responsibly look in to this matter. HOW CAN YOU DIAGNOSE CANDIDIASIS? If you have the predisposing factors & suspicous symptoms, then tests can be done. There are blood tests which measure for increased antibodies to candida indicating overgrowth, there are blood tests for candida immune complexes, & there are stool culture & sensitivites when GI symptoms predominate. When I am able to get a positive stool culture & sensitivity, it aids treatment because it tells me which natural & presciption items will work best with this patient. The candida organism is extremely resilient & can keep mutating into resistant forms, so often is resistant to a number of items in the test. If your doctor is open to learning they can find out more about these tests from the labs which offer them. The labs I use for the blood tests are: Antibody Assay Lab http://www.antibodyassay.com Immunosciences Lab http://www.immuno-sci-lab.com/index2.html Immunodiagnostic Lab http://www.idl-labs.com The labs for the stool culture & sensitivity & preferably for their Comprehensive Stool & Digestive Analysis which gives other info helpful in treating candida are: Great Smokies Laboratory: http://www.gsdl.com Advanced Access Lab: 1-800-328-7197 HOW DO YOU TREAT CANDIDA? The most critical part of treatment is dietary change. There must be no sugar, honey, molasses, corn syrup, white flour products, fruit juices, dried fruits, melons, yeast, moldy cheeses or foods, or alcohol. One must read labels to be stringent. The allergy rotation diet doubles as an anticandida diet if you delete melons & dried fruits. Unfortunately those prone to chronic candida are also prone to relapse if they stop their dietary program & complete wellness may require life- time dietary modifications. It is also necessary to eliminate the predisposing factors listed earlier in this news as much as possible. WHAT ABOUT DRUGS VS NATURAL ANTIFUNGALS? Depending upon the severity of the blood test & stool findings, I am prone to prescibing antifungal medication, which may need to be taken relatively long term in more severe cases. Those medicines are Nystatin capsules or powder ( not the tablets), Nizoral, Diflucan, & Sporonox. The last 2 are very expensive. Additionally there are a number of natural antifungal agents I may recommend. However, one reason I recommend the meds is that often when I do order the culture & sensivity the candida is resistant to many of the natural items, except for something called Tannins & grapefruit seed extract. But with milder cases, where there is no culture & sensivity we opt for the natural items. It is important to restore the normal acidophilus & bifidus organism in the GI tract which are killed with antibiotics & predispose to candida. If there is a situation of low stomach acidity , betaine HCL needs to be added as the candida organisms thrive best in an alkaline environment. You want to make an inhospitable neighborhood for them. If food allergies have developed, further digestive enzyme support may be needed. It is also helpful to support the immune system with thymus fractions. HOW CAN YOU LEARN MORE? There is a list of books on candida. An additional g

| dee7777, You are the very first person that I have seen recommend this book, "The Missing Diagnosis". I find that very fascinating, because the only doctor who was certified to diagnose me with Delusional Parasitosis, was my physchologist, and he never would, but he did recommend that book to me. He ordered nearly a dozen blood tests, though, which is how they found all of my vitamin deficiencies. He told me on my very first visit (I saw him for 9 months, had to give it it's chance), to buy, and read, that book. I never went out and bought it, I just looked it up on the internet, and read different exerpts from it. I have started the protocol for cpn and lyme, and am very concerned about supplements, which Jason is trying to help me on, so I think that I will finally do what my doctor said to do..........Thanks for bringing it up here. Just my thoughts ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Niecy

Dee7777 ![]() What a WEALTH of information for me to read at this time!! It was my last post to open. Wish I had read it a few days ago. I never get the flu or any major illness, even with Morgellons. I just began an anti-fungal (Raintree) and now have a flu-like condition. MAJOR sinus drip all of a sudden (shoot....I've been swallowing it....recycling I guess ) I love all the remedies you posted, thanks so much! Although I believe the Raintree is fabulous, and TCM told me I was herxing probably (she's right as usual) it's good to see all these other things. Actually, I can make some great food with all you list and use it along with the Raintree. I'm so psyched!! thanks! Kritts

Neurotoxins Produced by fungi and bacteria find their way to the brain where it is hard to get rid of. The affect they cause is short term memeory loss and confusion. They first discovered this in Women who worked in the home or stayed at home raising children. Mothers were showing this first and the Father whom spent more time away from the home didn't have the problem. In the end it was connected to molds. It's a good idea to talk to your doctors about this info as they can order tests to see how high your neurotoxin levels are.. Thanks for the post ! Aloha

I am also having yeast/ fungus problems from taking too many antibiotics. Doctors here are either uniformed or suspicious of yeast being a factor in my bladder/ kidney pain, skin burning and mental confusion. Hmm? To get a doctor to do UNESSACARY tests is hard, being on state insurance. But I will try and find a naturopath in my area. I appreciate all the info on diet, its wonderful! Thankyou, Nat

I am so embarassed. I have a guardian angel who likes to slap my head and say....."pay attention!!!" but only after I've made a fool of myself. Then this thread was magically brought to my attention, and I'm not kidding. Talk about brain fog. You can't even cut my fog with a knife. You need the chainsaw. so now I have some back reading to do. duh uhhh. And now I see that I actually did already read it and was impressed! Franky.....we need a better search apparatus for the fog impaired. I typed in Candida and got no results. xoxo MOoooooorrrrrron in fog!!!! Kritts ![]()
