You can't be serious about the CDC being trustworthy.

Let's just say that this thing will be defined IN SPITE of the CDC

through independent research. If the CDC doesn't want to come off like a about this, they will do some ACTUAL research using ACTUAL neutral, independent research scientist with no hidden connection or agenda.

UGH that is so heartwrenchingly, (ok I know its not a word), true. I hated reading every word of it and know that it's the absolute reality. How do we fix our corrupt government??????

The truth always comes to surface. I too believe the CDC won't do too much. Shame the $300k + can't be diverted to a proper private investigation.

I guess that's politics for you Jason, in government it always is. Unfortunately. Yeah, I wish the money could go to Harvey and his group, as at least they seem to be doing actual research. As I already said, IMHO I think about the only good research HMOs do is the one effecting their bottom line.

What bothers me is the fact that we all know that we got this from someone/somewhere. Most of us can pinpoint it. I know that I can to the millisecond.

With that said, do they care about transmission? Will we have an AIDS or SARS on our hands because of politics? Was it SARS where half of Asia walked around with a mask a few years back because of politics? How many died?

Again, I don't think they really know what is going on , but they are not fools...just playing dumb. They know that we don't have DOP and the research tools have skyrocketed. We all know that with the proper backing, they could find common denominators and it would be a first step. Dr. H knows that we are dealing with something totally new.

The red cross knew that the blood was tainted and didn't want to lose money....and the band played on...

We'll be okay. They're not idiots. They just answer to higher authorities. The class action suits going forward and the press coverage will blow the situation out of the closets. It's their job to blame us until they have more answers...just my five cents as usual.

The difference with this and SARS, AIDS and H5N1 Avian flu is that Morgellons is a chronic disease that doesnt directly kill people. I think the scenario would be very different if people were dying of this. It seems that governments and health authorities don't believe Morgellons is a real threat even if the disease is contagious because it will not cause rapid population loss through deaths or mass panic in the public.

The thing i think they are missing is the extra burden it causes on the country when people can't work due to the illness etc. Which will come back to bite them if the numbers of people infected does increase exponentially.

For those of you interested in the information/disinformation being spread about Morgellons, you might be interested in the following:
The Washington Post (washingtonpost.com) featured a Morgellons article in its Sunday magazine Jan. 20 also touting the cdc "research" project -- you can read it online. The natural followup today at 2:00 (also available for viewing, I believe) was a very interesting live chat among callers (some of whose main interest seemed to be in casting asperions on all of us with obvious DOP). The two featured experts were "dermatology professor" Jeffrey Meffert and Morg Research Foundation board member Douglas Buckner. Doug was always to the point, succinct, and entirely supportive and appropriate. Jeffrey Meffert pretty much took the floor to strut his stuff and make disparaging pronouncements and fling hostilities all over the place, all the while keeping up the pretence of being a supporter of Morgellons sufferers. It is rare to glimpse such profound ego and apparent hatefulness raging out of control. Apparently no one knows anything about Morgellons except for him, especially not Doug. I will be interested to see if the powers that be will continue to prop him up as a Morgellons expert, or maybe decide it would be wiser to make a different selection for prominent disinformation agent.
