Awhile ago, I noticed some comments on Yahoo! Answers where some individuals who thought they had Morgellons, alleged they improved using antiviral Meds. When I first begin to look into this, it had appeared a long-shot because many were specific to a vector, expensive, and had potential side effects.

However,I began to look at my test results: benign fragments or adipose tissue in abdomen, keloid like plaque, psoriaform hyperplasmia with dilated vessels and rich collagen fibrils, low blood IgM, associated with some dermatoses, etc. There are other ones I will go into later as relevant.....

As I continued to seek known human dermatological syndromes, that could produce symptoms like like this, I came across Darier's disease. To that end as I know I had HSV1 as a lad, (not the same as social adult herpes), EBV, Chickenpox, etc....could it then follow that some of the treatments used for flares of Darrier's disease, may be of interim value here?? In retrospect, I think I had something then looking quite like medium level Darier's: From adolescence, had a case of cystic acne that was bad... went away awhile to return with a vengeance on trunk age 22-24. Now oral antibiotics weren't helping much. MD put me on Isotretenoin (Accutane), worked unperceived MIRACLES then,,,

Well don't know, but I am due to finally see one of the best scalp Derms in the country at UPenn Hosp in two weeks (only took 18 long month for initial consult). I will mention, the prospect of trying oral antivirals like Acyclovir or others, and internal Isotretoin, etc.... Hopefully I will get somewhere.

Now I know there is a whole lot more going on here than just skin symptoms, eg. neurological signs in my brain MRI, septicemia, "the bugs', increasing neuropathology, haematomas, etc.

While I know antibiotic is helping things from getting totally out-of control, now I have something that feels like a flu-like virus over the last week.

Can't recommend anyone order this stuff from Guatemala , steal from Fabio the Ferret, etc....But I do promise to keep you in the loop as to whether I can any treatment like this approved and the results.

Hey Robert Downey Jr. look-alike!

I have to interject an anecdote of mine (something new!)

I used to have herpes outbreaks only when my system was at a low ebb; if I wasn't taking good care of myself....not drinking enough water, taking vitamins, etc.

I don't recall if it was after I had antibiotic for my tooth or before (a few months ago) but my lips were overtaken by the herpes blisters. I'm talking more than ten. It was great for a few days, since I looked like Angelina Jolie... but of course the scabs that follow end the honeymoon swiftly.

Reason I bring this up is because after all these years to have this MAJOR outbreak makes me think there is some relation to the virus.

hey, ADD IT TO MY LIST!!!!!

I MUST HAVE BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF DIFFERENT CRITTERS! HEY LET'S HAVE A PARTY CRITTERS!!! I'LL CONTINUE THE BRAINFOG AND YOU CAN JUST LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU'RE THROUGH!!

Thanks for your comments and support. Realizing there may be a lot more challenging issues than Debiliating Darier's, going on in some cases, not excluding myself, I put these links out that we may remain open-minded of treatments. I don't have any idea whether there could be any benefit to targeting Hepes Type viruses, CMV therapies, Arbovirus treatments. It behooves public health authorities to release suspicions and diagnostic criteria to physicians who are willing to contact the CDC.

You know, time wasted by authorities is a concern for myself and many others. For even on a year of antibiotics, still notice a downward decline, albeit some improvement in some cutaneous manifestations. If individuals were impacted by say "viroid" that were know to be progressive, we do know of treatments beyond symptomatic ones: eg: those impacted by CJD can prolong their lives and quality of life by taking Quiacrine. Even humans exposed to Rabies related zoonoses HAVE recovered ex-post facto on rare occasions. Those exposed to Pseudonmic Sepsis, which was once thought to be 100 percent fatal are recovering or enhancing the quality of their life...And so forth for other vectors...

We each deserve a thorough and honest evaluation, from knowledgeable physicians, who can sensitively advise each of us what we were exposed to promptly; certainly there may be some substantial variation with each of our cases. Even if it appears poor for a few of us, those folks too may want to know their expected prognosis ASAP, so they may plan, maximise remaining time, consider all options known to prolong and enhance, quality of life.

I am sorry to the previous incumbent spokesperson in Atlanta, but "Treat the Symptoms", is not specific enough for many!!!

i agree kill it and pull it up by the roots if can but make sure the body stays as strong as it can. my meds to help try to get the immune system back up to fight it better. believe it or not, even though a rough ride, my morgellons is bad my former mrf clinic told me . so whe i gripe or whine usually due to pain. i am used to that though. i will say valerian does seem to help some in the pain area but ca still think. helps to sleep too. you are the best evan, (LC).
