Hello folks. This was a pretty active weekend for myself as a Morgie... To that end, I continue to notice certain factors seem to excerbate my symptoms: Right now, alcohol! Now for myself, I am not speaking of an abusive amount...Rather since this has been active, if I consume two glasses or beer or wine, like I did during an outdoor barbeque....The eruption seems to return with a passion. The summer sun. Moderate UV can be helpful for many psoriasis and sclerodermic skin disorders. However, I am noticing since I got really sick last May 2006, my skin seems NOT to like even a little midday sunlight. Has anyone found this? Also, there's that issue with the trichomes. These are those spider web-like materials that come off of the trees I park under and make my life a living nightmare. Think a lot of Morgies are really struggling with that one. The Morgwatch.com sites alludes to trichomes as a simple dermatitis. However, I question if some of us are suffering from the trichome poisioning/biotoxin. I am looking for the articles I found awhile ago on this topic. An article also mentioned trichome poisioning in the context of cyanobacteria, that is a bad strain of blue-green alagae; Now don't get scarred and stop using HIGH QUALITY alage supplements. Rather if we were exposed to alage biotoxins like domaic acid, it may be more likely through other means: (bad swimming water, or carried by other organisms near a pond or swamp. If toxic alagae plays a role wouldn't usually blame your municipal water supply. However in the case of those clusters who became ill in Texas and San Diego County, it's remotely possible. Who knows(?) OK, don't want to digress into major Morg. theories now. My real question is whether folks get a creepy feeling when around ponds, swamp water, trees and mud? Glad we're not crazy...Wish we were, that's another story. Evan PS: I apologize for spelling again; browser is malfunctioning today.

EvDownJr my friend's symptoms were increased excessively with large sugar intake. Carbs in general actually. Yes alcohol started to bother him as well, but we realized alcohol contains a lot of carbs and he had to refrain.

i agree alcohol is at best a double edged sword. the alcohol, in a sense an antiseptic and pain killer, at worst converts to sugar in the blood and a depressant. (LC).

hey, Robt.Downey Jr's look-a-like..... The alcohol does kill germs and kritt...oops...CRITTERS....topically, but in your system as everyone has said, it converts to sugar. So then we have these little DRUNK and HAPPY buggers inside of us chomping away at our bodies, and havin' a good ol' time. I think if you MUST have alcohol (and I love red wine and summer drinks) try to eat no other carbs, only protein and fat (good fat) to balance and keep blood from becoming too acidic. That's MY two liters! Kritters

| Yes, I am absolutely worse near ponds with algae. Where I live there is algae in drainage ditches all over the area. Which is why I am thinking of moving--if I can get the energy to do so. Genetically I do not eliminate mold that well from my body. Why, I guess, I have allergies to antibiotics. Every one I use will immediately or eventually cause a reaction. best, tcm

EvDown, I just want to clarify my last post. I meant that if you are going to have wine on any day, not to have other carbs. But in general, any carbs that are low-glycemic such as anything green, I believe SHOULD be eaten in abundance. Starches, anything white, a no-no (except for cauliflower). You can also google acid/alkaline foods and find some good lists. It's surprising which foods are one or the other or combos. Krits

Thanks Kritters. Yeah, I noticed I did better when more rigorously on the citric acid, cayenne, almond milk, which are total alkalizers. Gotta get back to it! The irony is that there seems so much one has to do with this disease when physically and mental drained.
