Default placing cap full of Iso. alcohol and holding over a sore... I Beed Black Fiber

now, this only happens on "active" sores. the alcohol seems to suck this black fibrous material out of my veins? Holding the cap there for a minute or more (i'll tie the thing to my arm for an hour if im wearing out) pull the cap away and.... yuck! after anywhere from 3 - 300 caps, the black stuff fades away ( i guess when the pocket of stuff is cleared out?) this is hard to write about - i dont think the critters want this discussed? or im just pooped. cheers
-v

note - i dont do this anymore. the stuff showed up more and more rarely till it seems gone (along with the sores - duh) for the moment (hopeful).

There's microscopic images of those black things in the pics section, I was doing the exact same thing to get them to come to the surface. I'd tell you what I believe they are but it's like banging my head against a wall.

i know brother. seeing your posts i did some research. I can definitely see the related topics and characteristics, however i failed to see a direct relationship between my symptoms/findings and ... (this is off the top of my head - and my memory is fried!) ... bryozoans? i think thats right?

wikipaediaing these terms provided by standswfist i believe, really rang true:

Mycorrhizal....Vesicular .....Arbuscular.....Ectomycorrhiza....

your too funny kritts, sorry to do this to you but actually I don't think those black things are bryozoans at all, ha.

They don't fit into the picture at all when characterizing the bryozoan, but they do fit well into the picture when characterizing a parasite of the bryozoan known as the myxozoan. Do some research on them verbal, especially the newly discovered clades that parasitize the bryozoans. According to articles at the International bryozoology association they expect to find many new species of myxozoan in the bryozoan.

Just when I am thinking I'm getting the hang of it.

Not a BRYOzoan....but, in fact... a MYXOzoan.

So are they part of the same clan? Are they competition in the hood?

Well, I have a "my ex O Zoan" (divorced...shhhh)I'm learning how to deal with that so PERHAPS this will become a WIN WIN situation for us all.

I have not yet collected enough evidence to feel as confident about the myxozoan's possible involvement as I am the bryozoan's, just want to make that point clear.

Hey all,
I posted this last month. The first site is a picture of the life cycle of Myxobolus a Myxozoan.
http://www.biodeug.com/cours/balic/0144.jpg
...and this is very informative site on fish infections and parasites- http://www.paru.cas.cz/folia/content.php?volume=5
I still think the consumption of contaminated fish, probably salmon, is the source. Linda

I'm also leaning toward the fish angle myself Linda, but I suspect that there will be more than the salmon involved. Being the avid fisherman that I was at the time I contracted this I caught and eat a lot of fish but 99% of them were trout The more I research these fish diseases the scarier this whold thing gets, The entire worlds population of trout and salmon are at great risk right now the way I understand it, billions have already died.
