I have read on here a few different foods to avoid and some to take. Is there a list of food types that are good to eat. From what I have gathered so far, no sugar, minimize carbs and red meats. What else is there? Unclear Hubby

The problem is that carbs and amylose from cheese can enter the bloodstream in a leaky gut which is common in chronic disease individuals. No sugar is a given feeds microrganisms. Good things to eat: I think organic red meat is ok unless but you have to have HCL in your stomach to digest it and to eat it with a lot of vegatables not just potatotes. Avoid most root vegatables. Seaweeds, low mercury fish are good. Quinoa, millet, buckwheat and amaranth will probably work as well. No concentrated fruit juices. Green drinks with fish oil, lecithin is good. Some ideas for you. Patty kane from the Detox Boxx has a good cookbook for chronic diease patients. Regards Dr. Rick B

Hi Unclear Hubby, Accudoc seems to be a very well educated source on this subject. If you don't have any of those foods he recommends on a regular basis and want to utilize supermarket foods, I think the foods on an alkaline list would be beneficial just to check out. Just google alkaline vs. acid and you'll get tons of lists. I think the most important thing is to get your nutrients from mostly vegetables and everything you can eat organic. We don't need toxins from pesticides or parasites passed on to cows and chicken in their feed to exacerbate our situation. Just a point, too much alkaline isn't good either. From everything I read, and I have read quite a bit over the last several years regarding health, it's best to keep your blood base with a slight lean to the alkaline side. Go green! The macrobiotic diet and vegetarian/organic diet would be ideal with green vegetables, low glycemic fruit and whole grains and protein sources. (don't google 'average American diet...you won't find this info there )best, Kritters
