| Good Morning everyone! These are just some things I was pondering. Similarities in us that could make us susceptible to this-blood types, blood transfusions, allergies, military or veteran or any connection, certain childhood disease and vacinations etc. Any other ideas? I am just shareing my thoughts as we are all trying to figure this out. Maybe the cause will end up being right in front of our face-something simple? Maybe not-but it's quite interesting to see where this thing goes with the dr's-scientists that are studying this disease. Maybe when they finally discover the cause and come up with a cure we should all get together for a celebration-I know not possible for most of us but a nice thought-don't you think? Happy 4th to all |

| Lisa, I noticed that you said unexplained lactation-that happened to me about 10 years ago-they did an MRI and said that they thought it might have something to do with the pituatary gland-but I don't think they really knew for sure, and they never did anything for it-it just finally stopped several yars later-quite strange. |

| To add on to reasons for susceptiblity to morgellons symptoms, most of which could also apply to susceptibility for any disease: Heart not as strong as it should be. It may not exactly be overt heart disease problems, but the heart may have been damaged subtlely from childhood illnesses, especially if antibiotics were employed (this is something I learned by observation in traditional Chinese medicine clinic--subtle heart damage was detected in some children I saw being treated by a TCM master. They had taken antibiotics Their tongue had a geographic coating, which according to the TCM master indicated some heart damage.) Endocrine system is not as it should be. Most common endocrine dysfunctions are thyroid disesase and adrenal problems. Both really do a number on the immune system function. There are other many other endocrine dysfunctions, such as parathyroid. Internal body temperature is too low. Doctors accept low body temperatures as normal, but if body temperature is consistently below 98.2, guess what? Your immune system is probably not working as it should. Discussion about low body temperatures here:www.wilsonsthyroidsyndrome.com Not all low body temperatures are thyroid in origin of course. Low adrenal also can lead to low body temperatures. Heavy metal toxicity. Big problem for all as heavy metals are pervasive in the environment (lead in bones is much higer today than it used to be). Especially a problem if there are mercury fillings. Heavy metals can also lower body temperature Genetic defects. Many may have them, but may not even know what that they do especially if they are minor problems, but could make one susceptible to getting sick more easily. Excessive stress: death of a spouse/child, caregiver for a very sick person for a prolonged period of time, divorce, moving etc). In the blood type diet book it is stated that type A blood people have low stomach acid. So that, if true, this would make one more susceptible to catching diseases, especially parasites (which I believe morgellons may be).

| TC I could answer yes to almost everything you listed...............that was an eye opener! I am not sure of my blood type offhand Why can't I get my doc to pay attention to the low temp or low lymphocyte???? Linda PS I think there is a definite connection to lyme, but think there is a fungal, parasitic, as well as bacterial aspect

| Hi Lisa and Linda, I agree one could get lyme from more than just an insect bite. I have posted in an earlier thread about that and the research which is being done to prove it. Anyway, I agree morgellons itself is probably transferred by insect vectors or eating food with parasites in it (improperly cooked/raw such as in restaurants or that it drops into food from those infected--sort of the typhoid Mary factor. I do not believe it transfers in an infectious way through the air). Also the dinoflagellates sound as if they could be a factor in some cases. As well as the viral, bacterial, and fungal aspects as part of it all. As you say this is IMHO. No proof. About doctors and low temperatures and having ones head in the sand: the medical community allows for no dissension in the ranks. If someone has stated that low body temperature is the low end of normal for temperature range doctors all follow like ducklings swimming after their mother in the water and with just about as much thought behind it. I searched for years for a doctor to diagnose my thyroid problem. My TSH was "normal", though now, according to new test range standards-- surprise, surprise--my TSH would fit in the hypo range. Unfortunately doctors treat patient tests and not patient symptoms. Dr. Wilson of the above Wilson's thyroid symptom protocol mentioned just above was a doctor who finally treated me. When the endocrinologists in his state made sure he could no longer treat patients in this new way (the whole protocol is different) I had to find another doctor. Once I had been treated with thyroid medication I had no problem getting treated by the next doctor, though it was with natural thyroid hormone, not the special SRT3 Wilson used. The duck factor won out you see. A doctor had treated me for hypothyroid symptoms, ergo I was hypothyroid (though my tests were the same as before I saw Wilson). Another thing, I never go to endocrinologists as they think they know everything. And if tests are "normal" they will not treat with additional meds even if the patient feels terrible. So I keep my distance. Besides, conventional doctors may turn into lemmings and I do not want to go off that cliff with them. You probably would have more luck obtaining help if you can locate a doctor who does not follow conventional medicine. I have long since abandoned seeing doctors who only color within the lines because I have had many terrible experiences with them in the past. Mainly I use traditional Chinese medicine and go to other alternative practitioners who are not doctors. Just think most conventional doctors are on a sinking ship when it comes to treating those who have chronic conditions. What TCM calls knotty problems. As we all know from experience not a lot of success in this area from most doctors (not talking about the courageous few who go beyond body mechanic status to practice the true art of medicine). Best wishes, tcmgpt13

| Wow-I learn something new everyday about this thing. My blood type is A-, I have a lot of mercury fillings from way back when and I was injected with something when I was pregnant and after due to the negative and positive factors regarding blood, so not to loose the baby. That was almost 23 years ago-I think called rho-gam or something-I think it may have been some kind of component taken from someones blood-I think-can't tremember, my blood pressure has always been almost non existant-my spouse wonders If I am even alive as low as it always is when we test it at target or wallyworld (walmart). |

| Blood type o+ diagnosed with anaplasmosis and lyme lots of old mercury fillings worked around a lot of animals for many yrs Lisa, I agree, morg fibers look like huge spirochete bacteria (lyme), the visual similarities are stunning!

| Many folks with low blood pressure may have thyroid disease. Though of course not all with low blood pressure will have thyroid disease. Something else to keep in mind is adrenal function. Sometimes the conditions are borderline, but worth having checked out especially if body temperatures consistently run below 98.2 during the day. Just a thought.
