| Hi Sammy , Is Doxepin what you were given.. It's good it's worked so well for you.. I think it's the same as Doxpin..but tell me if I'm wrong. Hilly 'Doxepin is a psychotropic agent with antidepressant and anxiolytic properties. It also has sedative and anticholinergic effects, and, in the higher dosage range, it produces peripheral adrenergic blocking effects. Studies of electroencephalograms in humans have shown decreases in amplitude, and amplitude variability, also, the delta, theta and 24-35 CPS activities increased.' |

| Some additional uses for doxepin. It seems there is more than just an antidepressant and sedative effect from using this drug: Doxepin (Sinequan) - is a tricyclic antidepressant that is given to relieve pain, promote sleep, and relieve fatigue symptoms. Doxepin also may relieve the following symptoms: nasal congestion, gastritis, muscle tension, and tightness. Other tricyclic medications used are amitriptyline, desipramine, and nortriptyline. | My former doc gave this to me. It made me sleepy but didn't stop the itching at all. Is it helping with the lesions? I only took it a couple of times because it didn't help me sleep. |
