Has Anyone Used Manuka Honey?

Hi....Has anyone used Manuka Honey topically to heal skin?

I asked in a health shop today for something to heal callassed fungal skin they recommended Neem oil which I bought for £6, then they said Manuka honey would be even better, it must be 20% or 25% to work, but it was £36 a jar & I'd just spent £70, plus the man said "trust me" & when someone says that I always think they are going to stitch me up!!

Would appreciate any info on Manuka Honey, have googled it & everything sounds good, but so expensive, apparently its been proved that Manuka honey lower than 20% does'nt work!!....Spots....

Here's an old thread which discusses Manuka honey with a couple of places to purchase, some in the UK. Also discusses bandages with honey. Never have found them in US pharmacies.

For some reason honey works really well on skin fungi. Or it seemed too. I am going to try it again.

I read an awesome book called, "Honey, Mud, Maggots and other Medical Marvels"....you can get it at the library.

What I didn't know about honey (and gee... I thought I knew EVERYTHING) is that one property of honey is a level of hydrogen peroxide. Who knew? Honey is an antibiotic. Honey is awesome (raw).

In another book called, "Vermont Folk Medicine" by Dr. Jarvis MD I read about 500 years ago, he stated the best thing ever (in his words ) is to take a tsp of honey (I'm sure he meant raw honey since the book was written in the early 1900's I think) and a tsp of (raw) apple cider vinegar in a glass of water (then it was pure) for optimal health.

Hey folks, I think I remember reading about the first 'case' of Morgellons back in 1600 that the mothers of infected children rubbed honey on their kids skin..rubbed it in really good..and then took them into the steam house?
They kept rubbing in the honey and with the steam the fibers or what they called 'harsh hairs' could be easily removed and the children were OK afterwards...hmm...so, honey, huh?
