| This is sort of a catch 22, as far as choosing the kind of vinegar to use with this type of protocol. There was an old time doctor in Vermont who espoused vinegar use as well (evidently the use of vinegar goes back quite far as in this pdf file about the Vermont Country doctor Hippocrates is mentioned as using it as well for treatment). Here is one paragraph from this article about Dr. Jarvis who wrote a book about vinegar use back in 1958: "Not any vinegar will work, however. The healing benefits are only available in raw, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. The act of pasteurizing, filtering, refining and distillation of vinegar destroys the aliveness and goodness otherwise available. Bragg’s Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar is a trusted brand and easily found in the grocery store." I believe that this type of vinegar (raw unpasteurized) could cause yeast problems for sure. However it may be okay for those without candida issues or who are not allergic to mold. Also white vinegar, if one has gluten sensitivities or celiac disease, should not be used at all as it is made from grain which contains gluten. www.thejoyofhealth.com/files/20071214_Folk_Wisdom_Apple_Cider_Vinegar.pdf

| I had the book "Vermont Folk Medicine" by Dr. Jarvis. He actually indicated the vinegar to be used was Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar. I will assume back when he wrote the book it was raw. I don't know if it's still in print, but if so, they whould clarify (no pun intended) that it is the raw that should be used. |

| Hello, Dear tcmgpt13, thank you for bringing up the issue of Raw Apple Cider Vinegar (RACV). It appears RACV is the way to go. After reading your post I have scanned Internet for ' Apple Cider Vinegar Candida Yeast ' and got many references. They all confirm that RACV is very good for health and also that it DOES NOT multiply candida yeast. They also say that toenail yeast infection by candida yeast can be removed by RACV. I suppose those who are culturing fungi in Petri Dish here can probably culture some candida yeast and study what happens when a few drops of RACV is added to the sample. If what they is correct, it should destroy or atleast limit their growth, or else they should grow thick. But, I do not understand why those internet sites say that pH of RACV is 7.5 . If it has to be vinegar, its pH has to be below 7 whatever you do with it. Dr. Jarvis does not make that mistake, he confirms it to be acidic only. Hi Kritters, it is infact RACV that is referred by the Dr. Jarvis as it is clear from the paper quoted by tcmgpt13 . With regards, Yours B |

| I am taking citrate, (not potassioum citrate, the pure liquid citrate) for my failing Kidneys. I am fourtanate enough to have had an issue with urination that I followed up on, and HELLOO!!! My kidneys are full of UREA and URIC stones, and that is why my urine is so acid. I am in stage 3 renal failure! How many of us have bad kidneys and DONT KNOW IT. Our bodies (MY BODY) cannot excrete waste, normally as I had previously thought. It explains the urine being too acid...with the liquid citrate my PH has normalized. my urine was pure brown for a bit, as urea dissolved out of my jammed kidneys, that I had NO IDEA were failing. Now my urine is clear if I drink plenty of water. I am going to start 2 tsp of white vinigar a day... |

| Sudio: Greetings. I read your story. I'm so sorry to hear about how you came in contact with this stuff and the long-term damage to your organs. Just wondering why are you choosing to drink white vinegar as opposed to the raw, apple vinegar? Sorry if my question is redundant. Faithxoxoxoxo |

| The pdf. file I posted here does discuss and recommend using raw apple cider vinegar, but I believe that may be the personal opinion of the person who wrote the article. I believe Dr. Jarvis does not specify anything but apple cider vinegar in his book (been awhile since I read it) without saying if it was processed or raw. Here is a discussion about vinegar from Heinz which is of interest. Evidently, according to the claim of the company, Heinz is one commercial company which produces vinegar from alcohol and does not use alcohol derived from petroleum! Of course these days whether or not it is GMO free is another topic. Heinz® Vinegars Never from Petroleum ? Fermentation, Distillation and Filtering I believe the acidity of most vinegar is 5% and that rice vinegar it is a bit lower at around 4.3%. It is interesting to hear some sources claim RACV does not increase candida, as I believe some of the doctors who write books candida diets ask patients not to eat vinegar. I still assume this would be because vinegar, even refined vinegar, does contain mold. As with anything though, I am sure that there are differing viewpoints. Listening to one's body is usually the best way to determine if something is helping or hurting. In my own case I cannot use vinegar every day as I am allegic to mold (found this out when I tried the Jarvis protocol for using vinegar). I am not sure, from reading the history of Heinz, that their vinegar was ever raw though at one point it was stored in oak barrels. They were proud of the fact that they produced a standardized product that was not made like vinegars of yore and stored to uncertain fate in the barn: Heinz® Vinegars Proud History "In the early 1880's, Heinz packaged its vinegar in the ever popular "paneled" bottle, with a Keystone label and a guarantee of pure, natural vinegar on the label. Vinegars were also sold to grocers in paraffin-lined oak casks. Each cask carried an end label guaranteeing the quality of the vinegar and listing numerous awards. n the early 1900's, Heinz sales representatives held samplings in many grocery stores on Saturdays. Homemakers tasted various types of vinegars -White, Apple Cider, Pickling, Wine and Malt - and selected the variety they would buy. At the same time, many homemakers tasted commercially processed vinegar for the first time. Previously, all vinegar was fermented in barrels or crocks that were stored in barns or basements. According to a 1901 H.J. Heinz Company employee newspaper: "The old vinegar barrel lying in the cellar, or at the side of the barn for three or four years, has been supplanted by appliances that retain the natural flavor of the fruit and keep it free from impurities of all kinds. Cleanliness, purity and wholesomeness – the secret of H.J Heinz Company's great success in making vinegar."

| I'm a firm believer in drinking a little vinegar once in a while to raise your alkalinity and I'm also seeing tonight that vinegar cuts silicon?... hmmm? So, I got out a piece of gauze and put some vinegar on it with some DE and have wrapped it around my ear... I'll let you'all know tomorrow if I still have an ear. lol |
