mtnblue -
I have been following Dr. S's protocol for 14 months and have had great results with it. I've talked to other patients of hers who also have done well.
Here the thing. It is rather difficult to understand and follow, and most people don't have the self discipline or they are too "foggy" to be able to do it and sustain it. I had trouble in the beginning - so many things to get, and many of them weren't available in the health food stores near me, so I had to research them online and order then that way.
It's not for everyone, only for people who are desperate enough to work at it, and for whom other approaches have failed.
I doubt that she is going to patent anything, as everything you need you can buy online or in stores (but there's a lot of it!). It's not like she developed a silver bullet that you can take and be cured.

Thank you Sadsack, I stand (embarrassed and) corrected re: Dr S. It is easy to make assumptions not understanding the full scope of the information available. I typically try to keep myself from creating opinions without having a full set of data points, but in this case I assumed something (and we all know what happens when someone assumes anything). Thank you for that clarification.

That's OK; I just hope I didn't come across too strong myself. I support anything or anybody who is sincere, even if they seem to be going in opposite directions of each other. There simply isn't enough know about this to decide "this is right" and "that is wrong". So I listen to everything, and if someone finds something that helps - GREAT.

I have a strong distaste for the divisions and camps that have sprung up in this Morgellons world. So much is still unknown, and it makes me nutz when people are too convinced (one way or the other) about this.

Thanks for helping us out, mtnblue

Default Cautions about sulfonamides

I would just like to mention that taking Bactrim may not be an option for everyone as it contains sulfonamides to which many people are either allergic or sensitive:

Sulfa Drugs Allergy -- Sulfa Bactrim Drug Allergies

What is sulfa allergy?

"Sulfa allergy" is a term used to describe adverse drug reactions to sulfonamides, a group of drugs that includes those with and without antibiotic characteristics. Antibiotic sulfonamides were the first antibiotics used to treat infections, although today are used much less frequently given their common side effects. Common sulfa antibiotics include SeptraŽ, BactrimŽ and PediazoleŽ.

The antibiotic sulfonamides are different structurally from the non-antibiotic sulfonamides, and appear to be much more likely to result in allergic reactions. Many of the sulfa non-antibiotics, therefore, do not cause problems in people with sulfa antibiotic allergy."

Sulfa, along with penicillin, are two drugs which have caused me to have severe allergic reactions.

Out of curiosity did sulpha drugs serve as predacessors to antibiotics? I seem to recall people back then could have sulpha drug allergies. Good point you bring up TCM.

I do know people can have allergies to many things. Suplur, iodine (i.e. shellfish allergy for this reason), and yes antibiotics. This is imortant to be aware of. In severe instances anaphalatic shock can result from allergies which is no laughing matter.

Hi Rick,

Just want you to know that not everyone in the Morgellons community thinks someone is just out to sell something. One would be moi.

Thank you for joining in here to tell us about this. There are so many new members and there are even more 'guests' who never join, but nonetheless benefit from what is posted.

Thanks again,

Kritters
