| Hi, Jill - The meeting was an informal get-to-know you, exchange information on our experiences, etc. The best part was meeting people that you may have known from online - I met someone from this group, and another from birdmites. I had already met the others there in a previous meeting. There is something really healing when people who are suffering the way we are when we actually meet one another. My own personal experience with this was so surreal, sci fi, that at times I felt like I was spinning in outer space, completely isolated from mankind or anything familiar. The doctor who organized the group is still learning and has not yet developed helpful protocols. But she is a believer and that alone is something that you can't get almost anywhere. As you know, there are extremely few doctors who will see Morgellons patients, or if they do they really don't know how to treat it. As far as Morgellons treatment goes, I think you may be better off finding protocols online that others have found helpful. Bear in mind, of course, that not everyone responds the same way so you may have to work your way through them and "evolve" a way that works for you. There will be another meeting in January, but the date and location are not firm (it'll be either the 4th Sunday or the 5th Sunday in January). The location will likely be at a church in Wesley Chapel. I will post this information at least a week before the next meeting. Hope to see you there!! SS PS - Find a doctor of Integrative or Alternative Medicine, a Naturopath, or the like. They tend to be the most open-minded, and view the body/mind holistically and "treat" imbalances through natural means, promoting and encouraging the body to detox and heal rather than loading it up with more toxins. They can also order blood work so that any problems specific to you can be identified. That way you won't be working blindly in trying to correct these imbalances. | I think a meeting is GREAT IDEA. AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT IDEA. I would like to have a meeting in Memphis, TN. Don't know start it though. I don't know of a doctor that will treat me, and I think its a good move to have a doctor head up the meeting. Here's an idea. Why don't we just all live in our own community? I'm not trying to be a smarty pants, and I know people can't just pick up and move, especially when they probably can't sell their house in this economy. It just seems to me that if there's no medical talent to treat what's happening to us, then we should team up and form our community, a community free from nay sayers and like people trying each other. There's power in numbers. My house is infested anyway and Courtrywide can have it. I can't afford my mortgage, can't find a job, and find anyone in Memphis to treat my condition, or even believe me. I bet a lot, or all, of my (our) drama and hard times would go away, I (we) would get the proper medical attention, and I (we) could meet, live with, and help our friends (each other) if I (we) were in a community of us Morgies. What do yall think? Why not? The rest of the world, or very few in the world, except ourselves, are of any help. Somebody get it going and I'll dedicate my life, every ounce of energy I have, every resource I have or can get, to making it happen. I'll start packing me and dog, Bailey, today. | Alan - After seeing the pictures of Bailey, I think that's a great idea. He's adorable! I share your feelings about the need for community, for a sanctuary of sorts. Remember the old hippy commune days? Grow our own organic foods, buy the right supplements in bulk and have our own "apothecary". Have all the equipment that helps - RIFE machine, FarInfrared Saunas, etc. Ozonators, ionizers, even a hyperbaric chamber. Reverse osmosis water. Have to have a piece of land large enough for lots of people, farming, and animals, a large stainless steel community kitchen when we could all eat the right foods all the time. Ya got me dreaming! Would have to be close enough to a Morg-friendly doctor who could come to our "clinic" once a week. OK - who's got the money? Real estate prices have dropped incredibly in CA, including around LA. Lots of properties up in the mountains around there with many acres. Gee, I even have some real estate contacts out there! Make it a "green" community, with individual small living quarters built with NO toxic chemicals. Just big enough for individuals, couples, or families. Help me dream!!! SS |

| Oh, I just meant that I may be on the other side of town, or something... but as of now, I have not left my house in several days because my face hurts so bad, and I am exhausted from watching this horrific crap come out of my face. I hate it with everything in me :-( I will def. try to be at the be at the next meeting, though. SO glad I found this site! :-) |

| Jill - I will post a reminder at least a week ahead of time with the location. It will be held the last Sunday of January. It takes some effort to pull yourself together to get there, but it is SO worth it! It's like an invitation back into the human race. SS |

| SS... thanks so much. this is just horrible, and it's impossible to ignore it anymore. it is ruining my life, my relationship, and even my career. i graduated with a degree in tv broadcasting- but have yet to use it, because of these random sores that keep coming up on my face :-( I will def. be there, bc if we don't try to do somethin about it, nobody will. :-) thanks for all the info! |
