UPDATE: 99% Symptom-Free/Ayurveda

I've been hesitant to speak about my progress with my Aryuvedic doctor's
protocol before this as I wanted to be absolutely sure it was helping,
before I posted it.


However, I had my 3rd appointment with her today (over the course of 2 months)
and feeling 95% symptom-free. So here's my story ...

Dr. Raschuir is an amazing doctor -- having never heard of Morgellons, she's
utilized her Aryuvedic (Indian medicine, like Deepak Chopra)
experience and her intuition to treat me. Her rates are very reasonable,
she has incredible integrity -- and a profound mission to heal others.


Doctor: Protocol & Observations

*1st Appointment -- Dec. 15, 2006

After listening intently to my issues, she made it clear that while
she would do anything she possibly could to help me -- she could not
promise or guarantee she could heal me.

Although she had never heard of Morgellons before, she agreed to work
with me (unlike the dozen other doctors who turned me away) -- and
again made it clear that we would be emarking on an experimental
journey together. I got a really good vibe from her and agreed.

• Her initual observations/intuitive thoughts:

That Morgellons was an auto-immune disease, meaning that strengthening
the immune system (as I had requested) would actually strengthen the
disease. So we first had to detox the body ... and only then could we
build up the immune system.

• Phase I protocol

-Strict detox diet: no sugar, yeast, fish, alcohol, red meat or cheese

-Aryuvedic meds (all herbal): liver detoxifier, blood cleaner, herbal
detox tea

• Phase I health effects:

-9 days into it, the fibers and white granules disappeared, as did the
itching, biting, crawling.

- BUT, these symptoms were replaced with worms coming out of my body in
droves -- first, through the feet, then hands (I mean hundreds), etc.
Also, I felt LOUSY for weeks, like a terrible flu (herx effect of
die-off toxins)

- Some sores got worse, red rashes started to appear (also, more of
die-off effect)


* 2nd Appointment: January 10, 2007

Protocol: same as above plus 2 new things:

1. Aryuvedic med to kill off worms
2. magnet to be placed in glass of water overnight (magnetic water
balances ph balance, detoxes body, promotes cellular repair).

* Health effects

- Sores finally began to heal
- Worms, after 6 weeks, have almost disappeared (still in my eyes,
ears, nose and scalp but less so)

- No longer feel like I have a major flu but still have brain fog,
fatigue and lack of energy

• 3rd Appointment: February 7, 2007

-- She and I agree that I am 95% symptom-free -- brain fog, fatigue
and lack of energy will eventually clear up but needs more time to heal.

-- Protocol: she's taking me off the blood cleanser AND ONLY NOW, 8
weeks later, did she add a med to build up my immune system.


*** Important: This has been a long and hard road, and I often felt
worse during detox than I did at any other stage of Morgellons.
But it has been worth it!

Also, my doctor wanted to make it clear that each person's case may be
different, so your protocol may differ somewhat from mine.

Just wanted to update on this. I completely abandoned the Ary. Protocol a few weeks ago when I found out about Dr. H's Protocol and am now thinking I threw the baby out with the bath water. Although my major symptoms were gone, I was still experiencing different forms of herxing 4 months after beginning it and thought that it was ineffective (ie, brain fog and fatigue. Now I'm realizing it was very effective but progress was so gradual, due to the strength of this illness.

Also, just happened to catch Deepak Chopra on Larry King the other night and liked what he had to say (he's probably the most well-known Aryuvedic practictioner).

Since my current Ary. practitioner is not an MD, I called her office today and got the name of an Aryuvedic MD in New York who uses both an eastern and western approach. I called him for an appt. and will send him the protocol.

What I like so much about Ary (hard to spell) is its focus beyond simply healing an illness -- it places an emphasis on restoring a healthy immune system so your body can fight off whatever comes its way. I'm a little concerned about some extreme side effects I'm having with the H Protocol -- and fear the new meds may be undoing some of the success I'd already achieved with the A. Protocol. Anyway, I'm really happy to find someone who can oversee my care from both an Eastern and Western perspective. I'll post back after I've seen him if anyone's interested.
