Meagan, I thought we might need a thread all to ourselves to share our misery...

I don't remember the first day being so hard the last time. Of course, I'm a few years' more addicted.

How are you today?

It seems day 4 is even harder than day 3! We have been staining our front door and bathroom cabinets today and I'm exhausted. I just cracked open a beer for the first time since quitting and it taste good! I will not smoke though! I will not smoke... I will not smoke... I will not smoke!

Of course you won't, of course you won't, of course you won't!

They say the worst time is around days 10-14. You're a bit ahead of me, but just think; if we can make it a couple of weeks, we'll be mostly out of the woods.

Yep, just two weeks and the worst part is over. Two weeks is nothing... right.

Unfortunately, I have an idiot husband who picks the perfect time to get on my nerves and in the past, I would start to smoke... not this time!

He decided to take the door handle off the front door to stain it instead of taping it and now he cannot get it back on. The screw holes are shredded and not working. It's late at night and I want my door locked and closed for the night and he's running around frustrated because it won't work... urggg... typical.

Uh oh. That's usually about the time a man starts looking for the duct tape or the super glue...don't let him out of your sight...

How's it going otherwise? It's a good thing I'm taking off this week. I'd be hell to live with. Are you a little shaky? I am, shaky and breathless. You'd think I was detoxing from alcohol or something.

Hey, Jim.
Thanks for the good wishes. It's supposed to be a little harder for women to quit smoking than for men. So we need all the help we can get.

Yes, shaking and headaches but mostly more brain fog and irritation. I need to just crawl into a hole or something until the worst is over...lol. It will be better when my husband goes back to work tomorrow (he smokes and makes it tempting).

How are you doing? I found out that sleep is important so sleep late while on your vacation.
