Very cool. My parents were very much the gardeners as well, although they were not master gardeners. It is a lot easier to grow things in South florida, and right now I am concentrating on growing a bat flower that is Quite special. Google " bat flower" and there are a lot of nice images there ...in case your not familiar. Janice Last edited by Janice; June 2nd, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Reason: Add stuff

I haven't had an actual yard in years but had a humongous patio that everyone was envious of in my condo complex. I even had bamboo, but mostly flowering plants and herbs. My favorites were roses and bougainvilla in several colors. I love bougainvilla, and it's so easy to maintain. My hanging plants always had either doves or robins nest in every one. What a delight! Since I've developed morgellon's, though, I can't be around plants much, especially if they attract wasps, etc. I so miss having beautiful pots of interesting things and sweet birdies to sing while I read on my patio. I got real attached to the smell of Miracle-Gro!

It is pretty sad, but I used to love to garden. I could grow anything (even when we were stationed in Alaska). I was the one who mowed the lawn because I loved the workout. I'm afraid to go out there now. I have parasites (springtails) and no way to fend them off. My eosinophils don't work very well. M has taken one of my favorite things to do and destroyed it. But hey, I am suffering from delusions Maybe I should just conquer my fear.
